Great food quiet space and reasonable prices. I try to go there every couple weeks because it's so good and affordable.

I understand the owners are the only one serving and prepping the food. I admire their efforts to serve their customers. I come here every now and then. To support them, it's nice to see people age and still have passion.

My son and I went here for the first time based on the reviews here. The sushi was delicious. We really liked the dynamite roll and the tempura shrimp roll. The server was really kind and attentive. Eating atmosphere was fine, not fancy, but there is a place to eat eat if you’re there with a small party (2 to 4).

The owner loves to scam tip money from the customer. I wasn't given an option to leave a tip but a 15% tip was added to my total. This is not a way to do business. We won't be coming back.

We have been eating at and ordering take out from Soon Han’s for more than ten years (probably closer to 15). We have been to several sushi restaurants all over North America and Soon Han’s will always be my favourite. The avocado is always perfect, the fish is always fresh and the wonton soup is fantastic. We have never ordered something we did not like and now it’s also our kids’ favourite place to eat. We will be back over and over again. Oh and the prices are more than reasonable!

I’ve been eating here for close to a decade and it is absolutely fantastic every time. I’ve never had a less than perfect experience at Soonhans! The amount of reviews mentioning the automatic gratuity is surprising. That’s never bothered me, they deserve it.

Don't eat here! The owner automatically adds a tip to your bill without telling you. You order one cheap sushi roll to go and he will add a $10 tip. It feels illegal, but at the very least is a super scummy thing to do. Don't support this restaurant!

Absolutely the best sushi spot in the valley. I love this little restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy and quaint. The owners are fabulous. The are soft spoken, polite, and attentive. They are also two of the hardest working folks I know of. They are always here, I haven't seen either one of them not present. The food is always fresh and delicious. This is a great spot for a quiet meal and conversation.

The sushi wasn't that great! I have made it just as good myself. I had someone pick it up for me and when checking my bank statement, I realized I got over charged almost $10 and when I called, he hung up on me. Would never go back! Bad service, bad food and overcharged for it! I will go back to Sushi Fang because its MUCH better. I don't know how they stay in business to be honest!

Great little spot in New Minas. Kind and friendly owners. Good prices and tasty and fresh sushi.

The sushi here is probably the best sushi I’ve ever had, and is hands-down the best sushi that the valley has to offer. However, to add to several of the other reviews on here regarding this following issue (which appears to be chronic at this point), I do not agree with how when you pay for your order via debit card, that they add their own gratuity to your bill before handing the card terminal over for you to pay. It’s not at all okay and I’m glad that others have called them out on it here in their reviews to warn anyone who may seek this place out.

Because I happen to enjoy their sushi so much, I still return here; but when I do, I only pay in cash and I give them the exact amount that the sushi costs (I always get the same order each time so I know the exact amount it’ll be upon arriving). That way, they can’t add their own gratuity to my bill. Since they continue to do this to customers paying via card, I would suggest that if you are going to come here that you pay for your order with cash opposed to card. That way, you can decide for yourself whether or not you want to tip them for their services and how much you want to tip them for.

If the owners of this establishment view this, I ask that you please listen to the review (s) of myself and others and STOP adding your own gratuity to peoples’ bills on your card terminal prior to payment. Although it is encouraged (depending on quality of service being given), tips are NOT a mandatory requirement of any customer and should be completely up to the paying customer to decide if they want to tip for the provided service- it is NOT AT ALL up to you to make that decision for them.

Love this place! The sushi is high quality and delicious, and the owners are so lovely! I can not recommend this restaurant highly enough!

Excellent sushi and soups, delightful owners who cook and serve. Quiet and clean. Menu is small but adequate for a variety of choices. We dined in. Note that it’s on the lower level so take the ramp on the right of the building down to the lower carpark, it’s not visible from the road at all. Well worth a visit.

It’s a simple little place. The sushi menu is small but tasty. However I was turned off by the fact that they automatically add a 15% gratuity without even mentioning it. They do this for eat in and take out. I probably would have tipped 18%, but I likely won’t go back because of this. I especially would have been upset if it was take out. They didn’t ask until after I payed and they already tacked on the 15%. Didn’t make a fuss, but was not impressed.

A nice quiet place to enjoy some good quality sushi. The menu is short but makes sense based on the size of the kitchen. Taste was wonderful and service was very polite. I would visit again the next time I am in the area.

Tried this place for the first time recently and got take out. The sushi was good but the sashimi was small for $3/piece and the part I disliked most was that a 15% tip was automatically applied to my take out bill and they didn’t mention it until I asked for the bill. Felt like a sneaky way to do business and I won’t be back.
