South Shore Eye Clinic

This past week unfortunately I broke my prescription sunglasses, and they could not be repaired. I have been a patient of South Shore Eye Care for 15 years or more along with my wife.
I called on Tuesday and Tamara was able to give me an appointment on Thursday for an eye exam. In the meantime my work scheduled changed which meant that I would not have the time to be at the eye exam and pick out new frames etc. I called Tamara and she was able to get me in earlier and allow me to keep my work schedule.
I had a thorough eye exam with Dr Yammine and never felt rushed, everything was explained regarding my eye health and the vision correction I needed.
Tamara and Angie helped with a selection of frames and their knowledge and professionalism gave me the confidence to make the right decision with my new glasses.
This is exceptional service and I appreciate the over and above that my wife and I always receive from Tamara and Angie.
They are truly assets to this business.

It was dr Alam I believe, and I forget the names of the opticians and frame people but they all did a great job.

After having cataract surgery I had a check up at this clinic and was told I no longer would need to wear glasses for long distance & that they would provide me with a letter indicating this for the NS Department of Transportation when I renew my license. Nothing was said about a charge for this letter. When I went in to get the letter I was told the letter would cost me $10.00 or they wouldn't give it to me. Just another example of money grabbing.

If I could give zero stars I would. I used to go here for years and loved my regular optometrist. However, this year when I booked an appointment they choose to not inform my that my regular optometrist does not work there any more. That they work at a different clinic. They did not inform me of this when I booked my appointment, when they knew I was commuting a long distance, or when I arrived. When I met the optometrist she did not take my concern with my sight seriously. She went through the appointment very quickly and decided that I did not need any further tests because as she said, I "am young and shouldn't worry about it. " When I went to a different optometrist at a completely different clinic they took me incredibly seriously because my issue could actually be a legitimate health concern that warrants caution and further testing. And this new clinic is actually working to get me the tests I need.

My wife paid $700 for new glasses and needs an appointment and wait 5 days to get a temple tip adjustment because it bothers her - that would take one minute? Poor service!

I've done business with these folks for over 10 years but its time to move on. I've never had any problems with the staff working the counter or dispensing the glasses but my first experience dealing with management was a disaster. The manager took a very defensive posture over a concern of mine and did nothing but try to heighten the situation - very unprofessional.

Very poor service. They literally take your money and run. I waited extra time for my glasses. When they finally came in, I went to pick them up. I waited in the waiting room and she just came and handed them too me. No fitting, no how do they feel or are the lenses ok. They did the same thing to my daughter 3 weeks ago. I figure if I spend all the money they over charge. So they can buy their big heal boots. They should at least give you some service to go with it. Now I see why you keep the doors locked.
