The care my pets receive at this clinic is always stellar. The staff is always so friendly, kind and understanding. They all have so much love and compassion for my beloved pets and have never failed to diagnose and treat any issue we have had. I wish they were able to take new clients because I would love to be able to recommend others take their pets there.

Needed a vet, called and got in that day. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Doctor was a gem! So glad to be taken on as my cat may need further treatments.

We’ve been bringing our dogs to South Shore Veterinary for three years now and we have never had a bad experience. From the front desk to the techs and doctors everyone is professional, kind and empathetic. We’ve experienced both emergency and wellness care for our beloved dogs and the doctors and staff have been great. Prices are fair and I’ve never felt pushed to do any tests or treatments that were unnecessary. Highly recommend.

My sweet girl Maggie (husky) means the world to me, and I am so very happy that I chose South Shore Veterinary Hospital to be Maggie's vet!
Maggie is a very friendly girl, but gets a little scared when she is in the room to get her needles (Hides behind her mommas legs.) Her Doctor is very kind with her, gets on her knees to Maggie's level on the floor to help her feel calm while doing her wellness exam.
The office always gets in touch with my the day after Maggie receives any type of care just to make sure she is doing okay.
I am very pleased with the care that Maggie receives from this wonderful Vet Hospital!

They were wonderful and kind. My cat was in distress and had gone downhill quickly and the took me the morning I called. They were so compassionate. I had her for 13 years and will dearly miss her. She is at peace now. Thank you all.

South Shore Vet were very accommodating to me and my dog when she ran into some trouble. When no other vet was able to squeeze her in, they did just that. Friendly and competent staff.

We can't thank Dr. Alyssa and the entire team at South Shore Vet enough for saving our boy's life. Even with a challenging diagnosis of Addison's disease and 4 night stay in the hospital, they never gave up on him, even when his body was trying to quit! We will forever be grateful for the compassionate and loving care provided to our fur baby!

Best place for animal care. Wonderful staff and a great modern facility. They do have emergency hours too which has saved my pets life.

I have been using this vet for years and absolutely LOVE them. They have the most caring staff and look after my furbabues very well.

I was quoted a price on the phone for an over the counter product and when I picked it up it cost quite a bit more than the quote I was given. When I mentioned this fact, I was met with indifference and told well that's the price. I have since found the product cheaper through another vet office.

Great with diagnosis, but they seem so stressed they don't have time to listen. Overall very good, would defiantly go again!

Had to book an appointment through this clinic during covid lockdown in order to be allowed in the clinic with my pet when many other vet clinics only allowed drop off. Giving three stars only due the fact that a few of the receptionists were extremely nice and sincere and very patient with me on the phone. I was dealing with what seemed like a complicated eye issue with my cat which luckily we have managed to sort out, only through an off hand comment of what it could potentially be, from the vet we saw. Will be returning to Seaside Animal Hospital in the future.

I called with an emergency and was met with no help or compassion at all. I was told the vet was in Yarmouth and I should try somewhere else. I called because my mother has been bringing her animals here for years with great reviews. I won't ever call again. And if you have an emergency, I wouldn't recommend calling this vet.

We were vacationing from the US when our dog got sick. Although there were no appointments available they offered us a spot on a waitlist. We waited about 15 minutes before we were brought in. Dr Colwell was extremely attentive during the visit and on subsequent phone calls to explain test results and possible treatments. I never felt rushed.

My pup Sophie just past away, and the staff at south shore veterinary were fantastic at looking after her for the past ten years, and when she passed away they took great care of her dealing with the cremation.
I thank all the staff here, you are awesome.

Short notice appt. And super with our pet! Very attentive and never felt rushed or ambiguous answers to our questions. A great team of Dr's and wonderful care and aftercare.
On the pricier side, however, our furbaby is worth it. Thank you all.

Great staff, very friendly and accommodating. Took a family dog to have checked without an appt. Had to wait awhile because they were booked, very pleased with the reception. No complaints.

We called for help with our injured dog, and were told that Vets are like family doctors and you can only see your own family doctor. We were visiting from out of town so that wasn't an option. We went to the Bridgewater Animal Hospital on North Street who saw our injured dog within 20 minutes and had her up and running right away. If you're from outside of Bridgewater, or even local and you're not a client, don't bother calling. I've owned animals for 30 years, and I've never been told to take a pet somewhere else because we weren't a client.

Brutal service and misguided ethics.

Hands down the best vet in lunenburg county to take your pets to. Have been going here for years for all our animals horses, cats, dogs and cows. They are very knowledgeable and have treated our pets like they are part of their family.

Always excellent service from this clinic. Knowledgeable, caring, with many on-site services available. Of course, all this comes at a price, as fees are a bit on the high side, but we consider it worth it to get a trustworthy service for our dog.

With this covid there vet services was great a big bill for 2 trips in 2 weeks hopefully my dog is in the mend with his new meds a big thank you to the staff and the vets

I brought my 18 year old cat in because she had a bald spot on the back 8f her head. Dr Megan Crouse was AMAZING! She did a, very thorough exam and when the bloodwork came in she explained everything to me so that I could understand They are the best!

Fantastic experience! My puppy loved them and they were professional, courteous and extremely helpful! I would highly recommend!

Terrible experience, I needed a emergency visit but they wouldn't take my dog in because I have never been there before and didn't know were my dogs past vet visits where, I just needed help, someone to look at him and put him down. I went elsewhere and got him looked at and put down. Unfortunately he had cancer. I just needed help for him. I would not! Recommend this place.

Skilled and caring veterinarians, you don't feel like just another number here. The South Shore Vet does their best to accommodate your pet, and if you have a situation they'll get you in ASAP. The vets are incredible and the staff are great at their jobs.

They looked after my scaredy cat well and were gentle and reassuring to her. Let's hope we got the problem fixed.

Took concerns of ours regarding our pet seriously. Was thorough and professional throughout the visit. Took time to listen to our concerns and talked us through their diagnosis.

Great vet in the Bridegewater, NS vicinity. Very caring after my pet and very professional. They even called me to find out how my pet was doing!

After hours and on a weekend, vet there within 20 minutes. Very knowledgeable and definitely an animal person. Very reasonable prices and very happy with visit

Good service. The veterinarian was very helpful and informative about us having to get our cat's tail mostly removed due to injury. They know what they're doing but the problem is cost. Very expensive in comparison to other vets in the area for their services.

They really care about your animals. I have 2 Labradors and 2 parrots. They aren't avian vets but they did my rainbow lorikeet's nails! And the fee was minimal.

Have been taking Winston (my dog and best friend) here since moving to south shore. Staff and Vets have always been awesome.

Our Boxer puppy (Eevee) has always had a great experience. Even after being spayed she still loves her visits.

Great vet service for 2 of our 3 dogs. We recently relocated to NS and these folks have been great! Quick, efficient, caring service.

My little ones have had nothing but the best of care from the finest and I mean the finest, the most knowledgeable, caring, understanding and competent veterinarians there are. The staff is amazing and make you feel comfortable as soon as you enter the door. Nothing but praise for this establishment.

I was initially thinking I would just leave this alone and not make a comment, but then I thought maybe some much needed changes could happen based on my experience. My senior diabetic dog got sick on Monday, given she had diabetes I called the after hours vet to have her looked at, he did an exam gave her some medication, that was fine. On Tuesday later afternoon she started to have difficulty again, I called the vet to see if I could get her in that was around 6: 45 pm and I was told there were no appointments and there were 5 people waiting to be seen in between appointments, so my choice was to bring a sick dog in and wait hoping I may get in (they were well aware of her history). I said I will keep an eye on her and call the after hours vet if need be. At 8: 30 pm I called the after hours vet and was told she was very busy and possibly couldn’t see my dog until 1 am. She called back at around midnight and asked if I felt I needed to come in or I could call at 8 am to get her in. By then the dog was sleeping so I decided to wait incase the meds were kicking in from Monday. About 2 hrs later things got worse but I was hesitant to call back as it didn’t seem my dog was a priority. I called the vet right at 8 am to hear the recording saying they are closed, I finally got through at 8: 15 and explained she needed to come in right away and explained all of the above, the response was they had no appointments but they could fit me in maybe around 10 am I said we are in crisis here it needs to be before 10, I was told 9. My dog clasped shortly after so I headed to the vet early, I called from the car and explained we were on our way early because she was getting worse. I had to carry her into the vet at which point I was told to wait it wouldn’t be too long. I waited over an hour as people came in with their not in crisis dogs. I realize people had appointments but there has to be a significantly better system in place for emergencies. And my girl was an emergency she passed away last night at the emergency hospital on Dartmouth. I hope no one is ever treated the way we were. I’m not saying the outcome for her would have been different, but maybe her pain and suffering would have been less. I was trying to get my girl help and I felt I couldn’t. I realize the after hours vet is one person, but maybe if they are as busy as she said she was there needs to be a second vet on stand by. I was also charged $30 for my call to the after hours vet and all she did was tell me she was concerned about my girl, but was too busy to see her because other dogs had life threatening situations. Well guess what my girl’s situation was life threatening too, she’s dead now. This ends my business and relationship with South Shore Vet.

They are amazing, very friendly staff! My new puppy couldn’t hold her bladder and needed up having an accident and they were happy to clean it up! Dr. Rachel Hughes was great, she did a great job explaining the issues Hope had and was great with her while giving her shots! Also let with a goodie bag for Hope and mom and I were thrilled! Will be coming back and recommending to everyone!

They were very compassionate when we had to have our animal put to sleep because they were dying and suffering. They were the only vet out of the three we called who allowed us to be seen immediately. We were asked to wait until Monday by one vet. I would highly recommend south shore vet.

Awesome staff and vets. Our only regret is having x-rays done at $180 when it turned out to be Lime Disease.
That's our fault though, we directed the vet away from that initial prognosis thinking it was just him spraining his ankle from bolting off the deck so many times.
So when the vet suggests doing blood work first when your dog has sore joints, I suggest you do it before the X-ray.
Our dog is now on the mend a mere 2 days later he is no longer limping due to getting the the proper treatment.
Lastly, get your dog vaccinated against lime disease. It was cheaper than the $500 we had to spend and $75 on medication we did not need. And no, you can not return medication for our furry creatures either, just like humans can't:)
