Spice nails & spa

I got a deluxe mani/pedi ($100). Service took longer than expected and was therefore rushed at the end (the nail tech ran out before I even got to pay). Water was too hot every time, scrubbing was aggressive and they did not give me the paraffin wax I requested. Due to the rushing, one of my nails didn’t set. It’s been less than 48 hours and I have one ruined nail (not set), one not done nicely and two peeling nails. Extremely disappointing for the cost and I don’t have time to return before my trip! Would not recommend.

Booking online was super easy and they were all super nice but unfortunately I’m not happy with the quality of my mani. I got shellac nails and the application is a bit messy, and they’re chipping already (2 days later). Usually I get 2-3 weeks out of mg shellac manis and I don’t think this will be on a week.

Spice Nails Spa is amazing! I had a great experience when I have nails done here. My nail technician is so skilled and so sweet. Highly recommend!

I feel bad for saying this, but my pedicure experience was terrible. The water was cold, the massage chair was broken, the jets didn't work in the little foot tub, and the foot dryer blew very little (cold!) air. The lady who did my pedicure was nice but the whole thing felt very rushed. I was finished within 25 minutes. I've received much better service at other salons.

Only negative is that most employees don’t understand English. Else they are good for the price

This is my favourite place so far for a pedicure or manicure. Haven't been anywhere else in several years. The people are lovely. I feel like they take a lot of time for me. I recommend this to my friends all the time.

Went with my daughter as she want it so badly. Great job at nails stuffs just wish they will be more friendly and give me more information related to fake nails option but all I got basically short version as "yes" and "no" that it. ‍️ still recommend to go if yall want cool nails.

Trash services, attitude, too aggressive, over priced, not being able to focus on what they’re doing, not friendly, overall just bad

I got two services done recently.
Waxing services were good. She was gentle, kept hygiene and had smile on her face. She communicated well.
I got my nails done here for the second time. The first time was very good experience although yesterday was such a depressing service. The lady was in such a hurry all the time, she dint bother to ask anything before and during the service. She was rude in her conduct and kept saying I don't have time. She was not gentle in moving my hands during applying nail paint.
I was confused between few colors and let's agree it takes a lil while. She forced me to pick one and took the colors away. Surprisingly she was so free after my nails service. Well, my nails are not so satisfying but considerable.
I am upset as we go to salon to get relaxed instead I felt such a head ache after this lady got my nails done.
I am just gona say if you are not happy, customer friendly and don't like to interact and smile, please change your job.

All in all: waxing, eyebrows definitely try.
Nails: please make sure the good ones are available to serve you.
Services aren't cheap so make sure you get a good person to your service.

Worst customer service! Definitely not going back! They overcharge and when I tried to ask and explain him what the nail tech told me the guy just started screaming

Attendant was great. My only complaint about this salon, is it could be a bit cleaner. Using the sponge toe separator is a no no these days, and I just get the feeling it could be a tad cleaner with tools and appearance. Otherwise, great service and price is great.

I came in here for just shellac (not even a manicure) a month ago. My shellac is still on, barely any chips. Like I have never had such well done nails, especially at that price point. The woman who did my nails was very sweet and got the job done really quickly. The shellac is so well applied, I got a translucent colour and it was applied super evenly and there were no spots where it was more opaque/more clear. I am currently writing this review while soaking my nails trying to remove said shellac and I am still still surprised how long it’s lasted. I would highly recommend this place and will be going back.

I have been here twice now with two different people doing my nails and both times they were absolutely amazing! Great service and great nails! ️ 100% recommend!

Today I went to get my nails done. It was a terrible experience. The lady wasn’t paying a close attention and was in hurry of just completing the work. She even gave me a cut. I would not recommend this service to anyone. I wish I could give a 0 star.

I got my nails done yesterday and it was a horrible experience. My nails are still hurting. Also the lady was in a hurry to finish. While doing the nails she was carelessly using cuticle machine and injured my finger. I will never visit them again

Lovely staff, great prices, excellent service! It was my first time getting gel nails and they were so kind explaining everything without making me feel silly. I'll definitely be going back.:)

There’s a guy and he is super PROFESSIONAL for nail extension. So many people asked me where I did it not only because of design but also SHAPES are soooo perfect! I guaranteed for that All the extension pictures I uploaded here, he all did it. I OBSESSED those.

And just yesterday I removed my old nail extension and struggled to choose base colour. She helped me a lot and was so kind. So that She made this beautiful nail (which is first picture) for me.

Tommy did my nails a few weeks ago and I was FLOORED by his precision and recommendations. He knows his stuff and his work is absolutely exceptional. I was definitely pleased and will 100% be back!

I come here regularly and I have never left disappointed! The staff is super friendly, professional and caring of their customers. Their spa has adapted well and strictly follows COVID rules to ensure the space is clean and safe (which makes me feel relaxed). I would definitely recommend this place to a friend or family member. I LOVE going here! It’s my happy place. The service is AMAZING and the prices are very good! Thien is a pro at doing my nails and is always up to date on all the latest trends!

first off i went in because i seen all of the great reviews they had online.i called to ask for pricing and made an appointment. I asked for gel nails, they gave me acrylic nails. I got a quote for $60, i ended up having to pay $150. Does this make any kind of sense? I asked them why and they said the pricing changed last minute. The worse $150 i ever had to pay and would never recommend anyone to go here.the nails were mediocre and shaping is a little off.

I had such a great visit to spice nails. Jolie did a fantastic job and I was extremly impressed with her attention to detail.

I went there for my first time and the staff members were very friendly and I was on a time frame so they got me in and got me out. Thank you. I take a better look at my nails and none of them are the same size, one nail is wider than the other and some don't match the others length wise. In some much of a rush to get the job done they left small bubbles in the acrylic. I left my nail blank because I didn't have time to get them done, I'll just do them when I go when with my own stuff. Since I'm learning how to do them on my own.

Had an excellent pedicure and an amazing gel manicure! The color is wonderful and perfect for the holiday season. The guy that did my manicure did an amazing job especially of the nail-art.
My only complaint is that after my pedicure the lady that did them told me that the gentleman was going to do my manicure before she put a top coat on. I went right over and got my manicure done, and after she came right along to do the top coat, said she didn't forget me (). She did the top coat on my toes as he finished up with a top coat on my hands. She said they're still a little tacky so back under the dryer a few more minutes, she felt them again and she said that they were dry.
I just got home, took my socks off and they obviously were not completely dry because on both of my big toes the top part of my pedicure is squished down as if it wasn't dry. Because it is a red sparkle it's not as noticeable unless you really look at my toes nevertheless it's still as a bit upsetting when you pay so much for service (a manicure and a pedicure)

A nice, conveniently located and friendly nail salon.

GOOD: friendly staff (don't chat amongst themselves like other salon staff tend to), offer Dip nails (Vitamin E-infused, and more flexible than gel nails), tax-free on cash payments, good online scheduling system, artificial nail prices are reasonable and competitive for the city.

The polish (shellac, design, cat-eye) prices are expensive though (EDIT: I cant speak for Halifax salons, but other major cities often have much lower prices. This could be due to lower competition here), but they do have a good selection of colours.

I've also noticed, that unlike all other salons I've been to:
- they don't soak your nails before manicures, and they don't always push back and trim cuticles (and when the did, it was *after* the manicure was done)
- they don't put down a towel during a manicure, so polish drips and nail-file grit stay on the counter until they brush it off (with the same brush they use on your hands?)
- they leave the UV light on for more than 60 seconds, which leaves my hands a bit sensitive
- when it's quiet, there tends to be staff sitting around chatting, eating at the nail desks, and watching videos (often a bit loudly) - it'd be nicer if they utilised one of the rooms for the staff to use. The receptionists also tend to wear their earbuds when working at the front desk, which doesn't look very professional

Overall one of the better places in the city, and they've had a management change and seem to be very attentive to customer feedback now (UPDATE: While not a complaint, the business reached out to me promptly following this review; the management is very proactive).
