Don't be distracted by the atmosphere. The food we had was amazing- best chowder, salmon and salad! In fact, it's the best chowder we've had to date. Both the salmon and salad were very good.
Staff were friendly. The timing of the appetizer and main course was less than desirable. Great view of the Northwest Arm. Reasonably priced meals.

Delightful views of the water with sailing boats bobbing. But honestly it was Holly our server and a true Nova Scotian with a big heart that made our visit so special.

Been hanging out here for 30 years, it's a welcoming atmosphere with a spectacular view of the Arm.

We arrived via boat to the Armdale Yacht Club. Short walk up to Spinnakers. Got a table on the deck with a spectacular view of the North West Arm. Service was fast and friendly and the food was good - everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Price was reasonable.

Delicious food, amazing view over the water from the patio. Part of the yacht club, restaurant open to the public. Service is not the fastest, but it's so enjoyable to be there. Definitely a place on top of the list.

Unfortunately, my family had a really negative experience trying to dine here and I could not recommend it at all. We are visiting Halifax and have experienced nothing but the best of East Coast Nova Scotian hospitality up until now. We walked onto the 100% empty outdoor patio with our leashed Golden Retriever, and were immediately scolded and turned away. To be clear, I completely respect a business owner’s choice to decline dogs however, chastising complete strangers in a condescending and abrasive way simply isn’t necessary, being kind and polite is always an option. We were made keenly aware that this is a “private” club and our presence there was not acceptable to either “the members” or to her. We would have happily ordered take-out and gone somewhere quiet to sit and eat outside, but that option was not offered to us, we only read that they offer take-out afterwards. We might have come back at a different time without the dog because it looked like such a sweet spot to eat. We might have recommended it to a friend in the future because the reviews of the food sound so positive. But all of that potential was lost by simple, unnecessary rudeness. Online it says that non-members are welcome, but that unfortunately was not the vibe we got whatsoever. Apparently there is an awesome Spinnakers in Victoria, British Columbia - with a dog-friendly patio! I think we’ll head West next time and give that one a go ;)

While Spinnaker is a private club, they also welcome guests, so don't hesitate to make a reservation.

There is inside and outside dining, both with unobstructed views of the water.

After making a reservation (with only a 30 minute notice) we were greeted by a lovely hostess that arranged our table near the window for a great view.

Water was waiting for us at our table and menus were quickly delivered.

We ordered the Seafood Linguine ($21) and Pan Fried Haddock ($21), no appetizers or drinks.

The food came quickly, and was delicious! Fish cooked to perfection and the accompanying vegetables were awesome! The Pasta was also cooked to perfection and tasty! Good portion of mussels, clams, shrimp and scallops. The garlic bread added a nice touch.

This restaurant is right on the water with amazing views.

Highly recommend.

Spinnaker Restaurant is located at the Armdale Yacht Club. It's open to the public, but call as there are private functions regularly. The patio on Wednesday and Thursday evenings affords a great view of sailboat racing, which takes place throughout out summer. Great staff and food. Likely the best view of the arm possible.

Wonderful experience the food was perfect, tasty, generous portions, and presented very well. The service was also top shelf. We were there after dark so we could not experience the full view of the scenery but even in the dark it was excellent.

Great food and very reasonably priced. Main dishes are consistently better than many downtown restaurants that charge a lot more for less. The brunch is excellent, best eggs benny I've ever had.
