Stonehouse Motel & Restaurant

Very shabby exterior. Not well maintained at all. Room ok but bathroom could be better. Bulbs taken off the vanity only two left
AC unit rusty. Knob missing. TV did not work. Overpriced. Motel receptionist friendly and helpful.

They refused entry to my vagabond brother who wanted to have a bath.
Then they asked me to leave. Room refund did not complete and was told tough luck.
Loud outdoor karaoke is too much.

It was a decent place to stay for cheap. There were a few problems with my stay.sticky floor in the bathroom was one of them. My friend was seriously displeased with his stay here because he sensed a musty smell from the carpet. When we moved rooms it was much better to have wooden flooring. The check-in was good.the service lady was nice and helped us with what we needed. She was accommodating towards our budget needs. (We had to pay half one day and half another day). I hope this place gets to upgrade the flooring and showers. That is all

Incredible customer service. And the area is riddled with kind people who are willing to help you.

Worst management and customer service ever I cancel my room 5 days ago and they still charge me

À ÉVITER - Chambre 6: BED BUGS! Draps sales en arrivant - changés par le personnel qui est avenant. Très vieillot (avec un bain bleu comme dans les années 60). Moisissures sur certaines tuiles et le bas des murs dans la salle de bain et rouille sur les éléments de chauffage. Abordable = 102$ taxes incluses. Le chauffage fonctionne très bien. Frigo pratique. Lit vieux et canapé sale. Insonorisation déficiente. Au lever, j’avais des piqûres sur les bras et au cou (environ une dizaine). Je pensais que c’était des maringouins, mais j’ai découvert un peu plus tard que c’était des punaises de lit! Pour le prix, ça ne vaut pas la tranquillité de l’esprit. Traitement antiparasitaire nécessaire! Ce motel manque d’amour et a besoin de rénovations importantes.

Place was alright but they refused to give deposit money back the next day.nothing was damaged everything was fine that way.definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here

Clean room, but otherwise ordinary motel. Stonehouse is not for overnites—it’s an apartment building. Check-in was friendly. Don’t like the $200 deposit ON TOP of the room charge. Took a few days to clear off credit card account.

The room stank. The walls had holes. There were dead bugs everywhere. The walls were paper thin. The room beside us had 2 loud dogs. We could hear the neighbors full conversation.

Very basic, but all you need to spend a night. Very convenient, halfway between Halifax and the PEI ferry, and Truro is definitely worth stopping over in.

Was OK for a night. Disappointed the laundry room was out of service, which is why we chose this location. Even when checking in and enquiring about the laundry, we weren't told the machines were out of order.

Although the lady at the desk was very nice and apologetic, we were booked in an outdated room with only 1 queen size bed for 3 ADULTS. They had no cots or extra mattresses available and one of us had to sleep on the FLOOR with only some blankets for comfort. Also, some of the wall plugs did not work? They took $10 off of our bill and thats all. I probably wouldn't recommend, especially not for more than 1 night.

First off, ignore the pictures of a stone house - there is one nearby, but you will be forced to spend the night in a tired, clapped-out 70's hotel. It's a driveup, with paper-thin walls, and a pervasive musty/moldy odour. It's poorly maintained - our tub had a tap that barely stayed on (and the hot water ran out). Half the toilets leak, and you will learn this when your neighbour's toilet fills suddenly and the "hammer" of the water through ancient copper pipes crashes through the aforementioned paper-thin walls. This will happen at random intervals ranging from about 25 to 45 minutes apart.
The hotel also rents weekly/monthly and I suspect it was some of these fine individuals who chose to go on a bender and then play obscenely loud music on their car stereos until at least 4am. Management is either not onsite, or indifferent, and either way, it made for a long night.
For the cost, look somewhere - anywhere - else.

The price point was cheap, and you get what you pay for. As soon as we opened the door the smell of must was overwhelming. We had booked this hotel way ahead of our check in date and we arrived to a freezing cold room. They did not turn the heat on, and the floors were frozen. We called for blankets and after 20 minutes of waiting we called back and they told us they didn’t have extra blankets and had to leave to go get more. Not sure where they were coming from. As we were waiting we looked up and there were cob webs all along the ceiling. We called and their response was “we will get house cleaning to get them tomorrow”. There was a small bug dead in the dresser drawer. The room was extremely outdated which wouldn’t have bothered me but sleeping with spiders is a hard no. We left after being there for 2 hours and headed to the Super8. There is no excuse for that filth no matter the rate.
