Potato dumplings were so delicious and the chicken bao buns were incredible.so reasonably priced- 11/10 will be going back

The culinary highlight of our three-week tour through Nova Scotia. Finally not the usual fish and chips or lobster sandwich. Here, local products are interpreted in a modern way with an Asian twist. We loved the hadock and ribs, as well as very tasty oysters.

Just awesome. Have been coming here for years and always have the best time. Guy and Andre don’t do this for a living, they are passionate about what they do and that reflects on the dishes they put out here. Very generous portions and explosion of flavors. Jessica and Sara are always awesome. Can’t wait to go back.

Love this place, food and drink is amazing and the service is wonderful and the owners are amazing, they are very interested in food, drink and customer service. They are very impressive!

It’s been a min since last dining Studio East and that’s my error. This place has a vibe. Wednesday night and the place was packed with a vibrant crowd. Staff and service was excellent.

You can tell when the owners out their own personal touches in the food. Everything was homemade and fresh. The menu has some creative elements but always some standard loves such as the Pork Ramen. The drinks were a surprise hit. Cannot wait to find the next opportunity to go back.

Delicious eclectic asian fusion in a very chill environment. Studio east always has something to intrigue on the menu and changes it around to keep you coming back. The Karage chicken appetizer is a hit as is the rotating vegetarian comfort food such as the Kung pao cauliflower. Everything is packed full of flavour with interesting garnishes. Consider also takeout for an indulgent change!

Everything about our experience here was great. The service was attentive, the food was amazing, and the drinks were delicious. We will definitely be back.

Well, took me a while to get back. This time on a busier night. They got rid of the t-shirts. Love this place. Staff are awesome and the range of food is a real treat. Definitely need to spend more time here.

Cozy neighborhood resto. Intimate feel. Small but diverse menu. Can't really figure out the vibe they're going for with the "funny" t-shirts. It's like Brooklyn Warehouse meets Montana's. Service was good on a quiet night. Will try again.

Amazing food and service. The bao was so good. I felt we were treated better, or at least as good, as a fine dining restaurant.

This place serves amazing Asian fusion food. Had a hearty dinner here and was satisfied with every dish! Their calamari and scallops were particularly yummy. Tried their Vietnamese coffee creme brulee which was a delight. Highly recommend!

For a Tuesday night, the restaurant was popping.

I went with a friend and I got: pork belly bao, plant based wagyu steak bao, and cauliflower/brussel sprout appetizer. All items were very good. I was intrigued by the plant based wagyu steak and how they were able to mimic the texture of beef so well. The pork belly almost melts in your mouth with how soft it is. The appetizer was okay but a tad too salty and had me chugging water with eat bite.

The vibe of the restaurant was also pretty good. However, it was quite loud in the restaurant and we found ourselves almost yelling at each other to have a conversation.

Overall a good experience, I would recommend it as a good place to try.

We‘re new to the area and decided to try this place out. We were so pleasantly surprised! The food and drinks are INCREDIBLE. The potato dumplings are a real hidden gem and I could’ve drank about 15 of the Thai basil crush. The staff were also all so friendly and inviting. Could not recommend this place more!

Very friendly service and SUCH good bao buns! Atmosphere is noisy which wasn’t super ideal for a date vibe but go with friends and you’ll have a great time.

Honestly, I've enjoyed their food better in the past.
We sat there earlier this week and I ordered the chicken Karaage. While I was eating, I pulled a sharp pointy bone out the chicken, it had slightly scratched my palette, no big deal but still.
When I told our server about that sharp piece of bone she took it to the kitchen and apologized and that was it.
No complimentary coffee or dessert or even a manager would come and talk to us.
Food is ok, staff was nice, but it just feels they don't really appreciate their clients any more.

I got the rice bowl and the texture of the rice blew me away. The pork belly was tender and juicy. And the dumplings were gone in seconds. Their Daiquiri, though deceitfully small was sweet and had the same amount of alcohol as any other cocktail. I also recommend the bao. So far, I haven't gotten a single bad item from here. I look forward to the next time I dine here.

Great walk-in experience for dinner. Food was amazing, full of flavour and modern presentation. Great aesthetic, with a fairly open kitchen view which helps watch the chefs working at their craft. We had the chicken skins and house dumplings to start, a chicken bao and the pork belly bao, and then the beef shortrib bulogi entree, all were phenomenal.

Awesome chicken curry dish and I had a bite of my partner’s general tao burger. Absolutely delicious! ️

Food was so tasty, interactive menu with pictures, staff super helpful and friendly. Prices were reasonable.

Seen a post online about the great food and wasn't disappointed. We ordered the Chicken curry with jasmine rice, General Tso Bao and Fried chicken skins. The food had great presentation and was hot and delicious. For drinks we ordered the Pineapple martini, Prosecco and strawberry mojitos. The Mojitos were pricey $15 but the other drinks were during happy hour $6-$9. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Reservations are recommended even though we walked in.

We had wonderful meals here. Delicious with the bonus of spectacular presentation and super friendly staff. Highly recommended.

We were visiting Halifax, stumbled upon this restaurant looking for a supper meal! Great service, ordered the cauliflower/ Brussels apps, and my wife ordered the chicken bowl and I did the pork belly bowl! Fantastic dishes! Highly recommended!

We had ordered for 3 people through UberEats and realized an item was missing, we called the wonderful people at Studio East to see if we could still get the food instead of a refund through UberEats, and I am super glad we did! They remedied the situation quickly and even offered to deliver the food (and some cookies:) themselves for a quicker delivery! All the food was absolutely amazing and this may be a new favorite spot, we can't wait to try all the other dishes as well!

Studio East is turning out food that will make you drool. I recommend the Crispy Chicken skins for sure.

I had a great experience here last week with a friend. If you have a chance to try the bao, please do so it was delicious! Service was excellent. Atmosphere was inviting. Most definitely will be back!

Great place to eat in Halifax but not down closer to the waterfront where the majority of restaurants are so they're easy to miss. Photo included of my son and the 2 wait staff that helped us and they were great! Like the TV show.you gotta eat here!

Great little hidden gem in Halifax! Any of the boa buns are a great choice & they go the extra mile when plating the food to make it look super cool! Lots of cool cocktails too!

This is a great spot to try something new! They have an interactive menu that shows pictures of everything as well so that helps a lot when venturing away from your normal order.

Ok, this place is killer. It's a must go when in Halifax! Bao is delicious, ramen, off the charts. Their drinks are fantastic! 10/10. The staff are a bunch of gems too! Go here!

Went for the first time yesterday, and it was pretty dang good! I’d like to go back and try the other things on the menu. I went for brunch, but the servers told me to come back for dinner, because their menu there is super good. I’ll come back to check that out. I had their bao eggs benny with tofu and avocado - really nice.

Finally got a change to try this place and it was definitely worth the wait. The food was amazing, service was so good and friendly. Definitely my go to for Bao Buns from now one. Will be back!

This place has really creative and delicious food. I loved the pad thai wings and so much more. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Our server was Soleil and she was AWESOME! Overall, it's a great place and good value for money.

Funky flavour combinations and cool Asian fusion offerings. Incredibly good service. We had to order from our hotel room and they were incredibly helpful, accommodating, and kind. All of this made the food taste even better.

My boyfriend and I passed by this restaurant many times and finally went there for supper. This is our first time here and we definitely had a great experience!

We ordered 2 bao buns (crispy chicken and pork belly), calamari and shrimp dishes, and studio ribs to share.

I'm from Taiwan, and bao buns are our famous street food (people usually call them Taiwanese burgers). Their bao buns combine western and oriental flavors and were very delicious! To be honest, I didn't expect much at first, but their baos really surprised me. I can even think of my hometown!

The calamari and shrimp were much better than we expected as well, and their tempura sauce is a big plus! Only thing I kinda didn’t like from this dish was the jalapeño.too spicy lol sorry.

We also like their studio ribs very much, the taste was very classic and unique, which also reminds me of my hometown.

My boyfriend also enjoyed the beer very much. It is very fresh and has many choices! They were doing happy hour when we were there, the price was decent!

I also like our server, who is very patient and friendly. Even though we asked a lot of questions of the food, he still smiled and gave us some good recommendations. We really like this restaurant and will definitely be back soon!
