Sushi Nami Royale (Bayer's Lake)

I've only ate in the restaurant once and ordered take out twice. The visit inside was underwhelming, food was okay but nothing special. Lots of other options around Halifax. But the take out was horrible both times, which is why I left a 2-star review. Food smashed together, missing items, wrong items given, extreme amounts of mayo sprayed on everything and then plastic packaging smushed everything together. Total mess. I should have stopped after the first bad take out order but gave them another shot and 2nd one was just as bad. I'd never order take out from here again.

Honestly might be the worst asian food I've eaten in Halifax. Food came super cold and my girlfriend's food had a menu item missing. Had to walk downstairs to find a waiter and she seemed bothered. When I told my food was ice cold she went yeahhhh seemed it. Which I assume means she knew the food was cold when she gave it to me?

My girlfriend got a Ramen that had a potato sauce on top. First the waiter lied and said it wasn't suppose yo be there. After I got the menu and showed her that the sauce was suppose to be she then said it was mixed in. Third time she comes back she says the sauce was removed because nobody liked it. My girlfriend would have liked it if she would have gotten it.

When I got my food back it was steaming hot and looked completely different then the first time. It was hot which was nice but there was ZERO seasoning on anything. Huge onion chunks and the most basic steamed rice with absolutely zero flavor.

Sushi at this place is great but DO NOT order anything that isn't sushi. Also judging by their food standards I would not have eaten it but to each their own. Would not recommend

Very nice environment, friendly staff and delicious food for the price point. Came here twice on my trip and it was great both times! Highly recommend:)

Very disappointed, very little beef and chicken in our teriyaki. The beef was shaved thin…and lots of fat. Chicken was three small pieces. We’ve had this many times from here but this time they really cheap out. Would think twice about ordering again.

Fish was fresh and rice was good, not much else can be said about sushi. Staff were attentive and friendly. About as good as you will get for Sushi chain restaurant

This is an awesome restaurant for an excellent, reasonably-priced, sushi meal.
The service was fast and efficient. The server was friendly.
The menu is huge! I finally chose from the "Sushi Sashimi Course Dinner" section. I chose the 3rd dinner in this section. This included 8 pieces of Nigri and 6 pieces of Maki - all delicious. The course began with miso soup [which I loved], and a house salad. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. However, I found the dressing to be very watery. It didn't taste great.

Overall I highly recommend Sushi Nami and I will be back.

The service here is absolutely awesome. The waitress filled out water at every opportunity and was just plain great!

Shock your friends and family by ordering the Volcano roll and watch thier faces while the staff LIGHT IT ON FIRE.

Honestly the most non-fresh sushi I have had in the city. Golden California roll tasted like it was fried in oil that was bad. Sent it back. Next one wasn’t any better. My third and last time there.

Horrible experience. Horrible customer service skills. On the phone I made sure to tell them I wanted the roll and not the similar appetizer. When I got there they had the appetizer ready and were very rude when I asked for the roll I wanted. They did not even give me the amount I was overcharged in the same form of payment. I have worked in customer service and the absolute least you could do when a customer gets their order wrong is apologize for the mixup - and they couldn’t even do that.

We had the Sushi Lunch special. It was fresh, with lots of flavour. The service was really fast. Will absolutely visit again!

Has the best Sushi in the city and the seating are looks amazing and is always so clean. The staff are great.

My family and I have always dined in here and kept coming back until recently, the past few experiences we had were not good. The miso soup we ordered was not warm and was too salty. The rolls we ordered had a mushy texture, something with the rice was not right, they were a lot more spicy than usual, and the sauces on top of them also didn’t taste well. It seemed like the sauce didn’t match with the flavour of the rolls. We go here a lot so we know when something is off.

We brought it up to the waiter and even asked if they changed chefs and she just said no, sorry and didn’t seem to care. She could have brought it up to the chef or whoever was in charge of preparing the food to maybe check if anything was wrong in their kitchen.

Won’t be coming back to this location due to that.

They have typically been very good and we go there often, but tonight we walked out. Half hour waited without even getting our order taken. I know times are trying for this industry, but nothing about the in restraraunt volume was anything they havent been able to handle before. If there were issues, the greeter could have easily informed us it was going to be a long wait, that would set super reasonable expectations. Instead the restraraunt was at 25% capacity and tables were being cleaned while no one was waiting to be seated. When we walked out the greeter just thanked us, unaware that we never were even spoken to be staff. Ill likely be back, this likely wont happen again, but its disappointing it happened today and deserves to be remarked on.

We been there few times in the past and no issues, but today, our misu soup was served cold and very salty. The rest of our meal wasn't good as usual. I couldn't finish eating as it was bad. Even the server didn't do much after i addressed the issue to her.

Food is great, good prices and great service.this is a new favorite place for me and my favorite sushi buddy.

Since Covid we have still tried to pick up Take-Out here on a fairly regular basis as it is a very nice restaurant and I think they would appreciate trying to keep their sales active as much as possible while adhering to social distancing guidelines. Mostly we order Bento boxes or Maki rolls. The sushi is very fresh and well made but maybe a bit too heavy on the filling and too light on the rice. The Bento's used to have soup&salad before Covid but now there is no soup, and greasy fried onions/carrots instead of salad. The rice, teriyaki and tempura are still great however. Prices are not cheap and I still leave a tip even on take-out. Hopeful to see them restore their service to the levels they were at a couple years ago.

Absolutely my favourite sushi place. Extremely fresh and delicious. Staff are kind and very helpful. Can be on the pricier side, but well worth it! 10/10 would recommend.

Loved it. Service is very professional and personal. Sashimi was to die for. I ended up ordering an additional plate of Salmon sashimi because it was too buttery to deny myself a second round. Saki was very nice as well, happy hour until 4: 30!

So fast and so fresh! I went with a friend who'd already been to Sushi Nami Royale twice in one week. We're hooked. When in Bayer's Lake, skip the fast food and get some delicious tempura and pot stickers.

We ordered two maki dinners and they didn’t provide us with soup and salad as advertised. When I called they said they don’t give soup and salad for takeout orders. This is not indicated anywhere on the website. They charged us $40.00 for a small pack of sushi. No customer service. Terrible and disappointing experience. We will not order from here again.

First time at this location and was very pleased. Sushi was excellent and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely be returning.
