Sushi Nami Royale (Downtown)

Sushi from this location is always good from what I've ordered. Lots of selection and a good quality. I find every other sushi nami royale location is not on par with this location.

My favourite sushi ever and the service is always great - kind people! Love the atmosphere in there too.

I have been here twice. The service is so bad. We were sitting there for 45 minutes with no drinks. The restaurant forgot our order and made us food in a rush that was not good. Overall, had a terrible experience.

Nice atmosphere, high ceilings
The sense of openness is also good.
It's not expensive and reasonable.
It's reasonable, but I ate it in Japan.
It seems to be a little different from chicken teriyaki.
I was a little disappointed that the chicken breast came with teriyaki sauce.
The pork cutlet was a bit disappointing in the thickness of the meat.
The maki was delicious.
Overall I am satisfied.

The food is very stale, I have diarrhea after eating it, this consumption is a disaster, the waiter is quite unfriendly, and the attitude is extremely bad. This restaurant is the worst sushi place I have ever eaten in Halifax, I advise everyone not to go here, this is just my kind reminder.

This was my favorite place to eat out in Halifax until a very unpleasant thing happened. I was enjoying my meal a couple of days ago when it appeared that scallops had hard pieces inside, which caused considerable discomfort to my teeth. I asked a waiter for the refund and gave them some of the small stones I found. They went to the kitchen without saying anything to me, and then they came back and didn't say anything related to the issue as well, just made sure that I ordered what I ordered. Long story short, I got a refund but nobody apologized or even acknowledged what happened. This could've ended really badly for my health cause stones were hard and big enough to cause substantial damage. I expected an apology but got this kind of an attitude when you're treated like it's your fault. Disappointing.

Great sushi In a cool vibe service was not the best I think our waitress was very new but we worked through it

The sashimi is a must: big chunks of melt-in-your-mouth salmon, tuna & escolar. This Cantonese-owned place has been a Halifax classic and I was happy to know they’re still open. This newer location has great decor and is very spacious! Waitress was very polite.

Rolls were somewhat of a letdown on the day we went, but tasted good. They are a bit loose, sparse and some classics like the dragon roll, while not bad here, didn’t taste as good as some other restaurants.

Absolutely above and beyond service, she went and checked with the chef for everything we ordered to make sure there wasn't any cross contamination for a food allergy

Spicy edamame was a great appy, they bring little finger bowls to wash your hands
Serving sizes were generous

This place has the quality of an all you can eat sushi restaurant but charges you like a real sushi bar. Very poor quality sushi filled to the brim with vegetables with little to no meat.

Delicious sushi! Even when forgot a couple things in our order they came back and not only gave us what was missing but gave us 2 extra miso soup! Customer service is on point!

Service was exceptionally welcoming, our waitress was very patient and i couldn't ask for more.the sashimi doesn't have the original flavor of the seafood but it's alright.the salad is a bit overwhelming with the seasoning.miso soup is terrific.

I have been enjoying the sushi and the service here for several years. However, I have noticed a decline in the cleanliness and upkeep of the dining area. The laminate edging of some of the tables has come unglued and have been, ineffectively, scotch taped. In the booths, posters on the wall are peeling away, the paint is chipped, there's a film of dust on the lightbulbs and the plexiglass barriers are filthy. Would appreciate more care given to these things.

First things first, the service. I think they were understaffed in waiters. But on the good side, the food was amazing! I think it was the best sushi I had in Canada! I just wish the salmon nigiri were less expensive. It was the best salmon nigiri ever!
In sum, amazing sushi restaurant.

Food looked beautiful, but was quite tasteless. Great presentation, but the pieces are too big to fit in your mouth.

We ordered the sushi boat to share between 3 of us and then the other two of our part of 5 ordered chicken Bento boxes
The boat came unexpectedly quick! It was delicious and came with a side of two miso soups and two house salads. The sushi was so fresh and tasty

Regular goer of sushi here and it's always solid! But I decided on the Ramen and it was terrific! So good I had to drop a review.

We stopped in for some A-La-Carte Sushi while in Halifax and were very impressed. We love Tuna and tried a variety of Sushi, Sashimi and Aburi including the Spicy Tuna Roll, Maguro Tuna and White Tuna Albacore. The fish was incredibly fresh and buttery smooth with large cuts. Simply incomparable to Sushi in Ontario. The Beef Tataki is also excellent. Fair prices. Bright and modern atmosphere. Good service.

As usual, the food is delicious. The service was tremendous and the servers always had a smile on their faces. Very pleasant atmosphere.

We ate here on a Monday night and it was fairly busy. We were very pleased with the food. There were some interesting Maki rolls (Fuji Mountain and Rock & Roll), they were fresh and well made. We also had the pork belly as an appetizer and it was delicious. Overall service was good. Was a bit delayed at the beginning since they were short staffed.

First time I came, the service and food was superb for dinner with out of town clients from Ontario. The second time was for lunch with out of town clients, service was slow, food was slightly cold…. Disappointed as I raved how delightful my last experience was. The servers were chatting not mindful to get our order as we sat there for awhile waiting…Needless to say, I did go back a third time on my own for lunch, the server I had was sweet, brought my food out hot, was on the ball with service. She was delightful which gives me to rate a 4 for this restaurant. Would have been a 5 if it weren’t for the inconsistent service from the servers.

Excellent veg tempura. Found the rice in my Bento box a bit dry but the beef teriyaki was very flavourful.

Delicious fresh sushi, generous portions and very well priced.

The service was very attentive and the washrooms spotlessly clean.

Had a lovely and of delicious lunch here today with my friend today. It’s one of the best in Halifax the quality and professional service. I would highly recommend this sushi restaurant if you are reading this I promise they won’t disappoint you.

Really friendly staff and excellent sushi (serving size, taste, variety - they cover all the bases!). Also 10/10 ramen.the atmosphere is beautiful too (altho maybe they could’ve played a little less country music, i didnt think that suited the vibe too well tbh). Great location, right by the library and close to the waterfront.really great place to go for a date.and the drinks arent too bad either (i recommend getting a cold sake bottle)! Definitely coming back again soon.fairly priced as well.

This place is consistently great with their quality of food and service. I love the spicy salmon and their spicy miso soup is my always go to!

I used to love this place before but i feel like the quality dropped over time. The ambiance is great and service is also good but sushi is average! Its still a good choice given other spots like sushi jets are just horrendous!

Would give no stars if it was an option. I order take out every week and the last 6 weeks have been wrong. I spend $100 to $200 a week and they never get it right. Horrible service and rude people.

Great izakaya! Food was delicious (mmm the Unagi were great) and the sushi were fantastic as well. Lunch special prices are great. The drink special was also good. Refreshing and original. A good place to fix that Japanese food craving.

The roll with lobster was spoiled. It was very smelly and the taste was super bad. The remaining of the rolls were good, as well as the noodles. But the lobster rolls were a disaster. Dissapointed:/

The service here is always amazing! Our server was so kind, friendly, and accommodating for a birthday dinner and it made all the difference.

Tasty meals found here. Service was swell. Fantastic rolls, especially the firecracker. The kimchi udon was a miss but I give them points for creativity.

This is my favourite quick sushi restaurant! The fish always tastes fresh and their tuna nigiri is quite generous size-wise.
The young women working front of house are always friendly, efficient and accommodating. Definitely recommend!

Don’t really know where to begin, I enjoyed the spring rolls and the california roll but that was it. The gyozas were cold and not very tasty, and the other rolls were lacklustre. To top it off the waiter I had seem very unenthusiastic to help me at all.

Food and service was great. Only a little pricy. Parking at meters on the street. Very clean and spacious. Washrooms were clean. There are stairs going from the door down into the restaurant but there is also an elevator for accessability. Very enjoyable.

There is an 'A' team in this restaurant and a 'B' team. If you get the 'A' team, the food is okay and everything is made properly. If you get the 'B' team, the food isn't just made improperly, it's utterly inedible. If you love sushi and Japanese food, don't bother going here, there are so many places that are better nearby. Nami Royale is my sign that low quality food will be served for slightly more expensive than I want to pay. The location is beautiful, so this is shame, I hope a better place opens up in this spot someday.

One of the only places in HRM that rivals Wasabi House. Phenomenal quality food (Try their lunch, very cheap with a lot of food!). Excellent service. Have never had a bad experience here.

Good place for a quick lunch. Tables are all well spaced out and everything is constantly cleaned.

Our server was very prompt and attentive. The food was made to order and arrived very quickly. The restaurant was clean and tidy when we arrived.

By far the best quality Sushi in HRM. The service is excellent. Your going to pay more but it's worth it. The fusion rolls are the star. The mini kamikaze and the tropicana roll are personal favorites.

Very friendly service. Shrimp tempura is served mainly for lunch (the fried shrimp could be a bit warmer, though). They even replaced chicken with California rolls when I said I don't like chicken in a lunch plate! Rolls are a bit larger than usual, make sure you open your mouth wide. California rolls are softly spicy, FYI!

First time in since this one opened. It was very lovely. Good service and delicious food. Very nice dining area as well.

Excellent food and a lovely ginger lemonade. The server was a little too eager to clear my spot, even though it wasn't a busy day. I think just in reach of a pokestop, no shinies caught.

It is always fresh and delicious and just perfect! Last time the new foreign waitress was a bit grumpy, bit the rest was amazing as always. Oceans 7 is my all time favorite: D

Lots of choices, gluten free avocado rolls and soy sauce. Other Maki can be made gluten free on request. Good service and nice atmosphere.

Wow.the food here was fantastic! We've been to some great sushi places in the past and Sushi Nami is definitely up near the top of that list. Reasonable prices, casual atmosphere, great food. You can't ask for much else.

Wasn't very satisfied. We ordered 5 different things and nothing was really outstanding and was quite bland or too strong. The ambiance was nice but the food did not meet expectations after seeing all the high reviews for SMR.

Great service from the staff, they were on spot with refilling water. The sushi was fresh and delicious, somewhat expensive, but a good spot to enjoy nonetheless.

Loved the space for this restaurant! Went here with my boyfriend for a date night and it did not disappoint! The food was really really amazing and we will be back again. The drinks were not good at all so that's my reason for four stars.

The place to be for comfort food like this. When you go here you can relate to ed sheeran singing "beautiful people" cause of the employees who work there.lol. 5 starts.it's a good place.

The menu is so far removed from Izakaya cuisine that it’s criminal to call it one. Just another Japanese restaurant with excessive amount of fusion rolls.

At least the fish is fresh and well prepared
