Beautiful ship, crew was fun and friendly. Winds were sporadic so the sails weren't able to be raised. I would recommend.

Had fun raising the sails. Very good coverage of points of interest in the harbour. Informative and interesting.

A lovely tour of Halifax harbor on a neat old boat that has been restored with sail rigging. The ship was very comfortable and we had a beautiful evening.

We had a good time! Beautiful weather and was smooth sailing. We went on one of the regular 4pm trips around the harbour. The crew was entertaining and knowledgeable.

We had family in town visiting from Ontario and grabbed tickets for 7 of us. It rained leading up to the tour so we were a little concerned. Staff assured us that there was a covered area. Although the covered area was limited, staff added extra chairs, quickly dried off any wet areas and ensured guests boarded safely.

The staff emcee introduced the staff, and did safety announcements as the weather cleared almost immediately when when left dock. They played a good selection of Maritime music, the bar was open and the mood was light and fun.

Announcements about the history of the vessel, the area and overall happenings in port were informative and entertaining. At one point the first mate took anyone that wanted to go on a tour of the engine room and passengers were welcomed to help raise the sails.

Overall I felt the cruise was great value and a great way to host guests to our beautiful city. They all had rave reviews and really enjoyed themselves.

Thank you to Ambassatours and the staff of Tall Ship Silva for a great experience! We sailed on the 4pm sailing August 11th, 2023.

Really liked the tour of the harbor with the sails up. Too bad they are continuously under diesel power.

The staff are awesome. The captain was letting the kids steer (under constant supervision), pretty sure those kids had three time of their life, I was a little jealous.

Great ride around the harbor, out by George's island and back under both bridges into the basin and back. Great music too

It’s a 1.5 hour tour right there in front of waterfront. I found it boring because you just sit and look around.
Maybe it will be much interesting if one of the staff talked about the things you see from the boat
The nice touch was putting up the sail!

Such a fun afternoon on the water! We had gorgeous weather and it was a great way to see the harbour.

Very enjoyable trip this afternoon with our 6&7yr olds. Crew were brilliant at involving them. We all loved it.

We had an absolutely lovely time on the Tall Ship Silva. Our kids (3 and 5) REALLY enjoyed themselves, and the crew were all wonderful. Highly recommend this matinee tour to families.

Had to avoid from colliding with the Silva in Halifax Harbour tonight, backing out of a floating wharf, she was steaming at 8-10 kts, no more than 30 ft from one of the large piers downtown. Had the nerve to come out of the wheel house and start yelling. Young captain clearly needs some more training. Avoid this floating barge on the water, very dangerous. Might want to pay more attention to your surroundings instead of the girls aboard!

A breath of fresh air now that we're getting hopefully near the end of lockdowns. Great music, attentive staff and the views of the city at night.breathtaking! Loving going under the MacDonald bridge!

Staff was very knowledge re: tours/pricing.but couldn’t really recommend solutions for accommodating people with mobility issues/disabilities.

We sailed on this amazing ship around the harbor, it was just incredible.
If you get the chance, please go and experience this wonderful ship

This is a trip well worth taking. The knowledgable guide gives you a good overview of Halifax and its harbour. Raising the sails is a bit of a gimmick as the entire trip is done using the Diesel engine but the crowd enjoyed it.

In the beginning it seemed expensive but it was worth the money. Really pleasuring trip even if we weren‘t really sailing. If you want you can assist the crew at the deck with the sails if you want to become a sailor.

I sailed on this ship early afternoon. It wasn't busy, and the weather was nice. It was a good trip overall

Nice outing, good hosts, was full on the day. Kudos to the company, they honour the ACCESS2 card, which enables the holder to be accompanied by a support person at no extra charge. The ACCESS2 card gives people with disabilities the opportunity to attend things that they might not be able to without assistance from a support worker. MANY THANKS to the Ambassatours/Murphys group, we appreciate your thoughtfulness!

I took the 1.5 hour-long tour with three children. The ship departed at 4: 30pm and we were asked to board 15 minutes early. The crew was very friendly and helpful, and my kids loved helping to raise the sails. I enjoyed a $9 beer and a pleasant sail with some interesting historical tidbits. My six-year-old enjoyed exploring the ship, but quickly started complaining that it was "boring". His older sisters and I enjoyed it much more, I think.

We were on the Silva last night with a large work group for our annual cruise. We normally go on The Harbour Queen. Thought we would try the Silva this year. Myself and my friend would be the older (and soberest) two ladies in the group. We sat towards the back on the bench all evening as the front is quite busy. We were chatting and laughing and enjoying the view until one of the "security" people approached my perfectly sober friend with a glass of water and told her she was "cut off" Im not sure how this decision was made but it was random, bizarre, and left a very bad taste in our mouths.

I've sailed aboard the Silva three times now for nightlife parties and have enjoyed it each time. Great atmosphere, fun experience! Highly recommend setting sail for a fun cruise around the harbor!
Music & bar on board.
Washrooms located below deck.

If you've never sailed on the Silva you really should! The houses on Northwest Arm are just beautiful.

We did the craft beer cruise at sunset. It was above expectations. Very friendly staff. Tasty local beers. Beautiful sunset. Got lots of great pictures and met some cool people. Would love to try a cruise again on a time they raise the sails, to get some more pictures and see another part of Halifax harbour.

My mom, my sister and I were here staying with my mom’s sister & her husband that lives out here. My aunt bought tickets for the ship. It was freezing but they had blankets available. Everyone in my group has their own. Very informative tour guide- I especially loved hearing about the history of Silva and well as things about titanic.

Food can be better. We don't drink and we were there to enjoy the beauty of Halifax and food. UPDATE: We were in the craft cruise and lot of processed food, heavily salted food was served, which was bad. It could be better. Last year we were in the wine cruise and the food was awesome! We were expecting the same.

Wonderful experience! We cruised around George's Island and the Halifax Harbour while a guide provided history and interesting facts along they way. Be sure to volunteer to help raise the sails! The crew are friendly, considerate and will answer questions. Complimentary coffee, tea or hot chocolate are available, or you can buy something from the bar. It is fun!

Amazing night on the water, the Silva was the highlight of my martimes adventure. I love tall ships, the vibe the music and staff was all top notch the tour was so great, drinks were a great price.i cant wait to go back next summer, i almost recommend doing a slightly earlier tour i did the last tour of the night and the sails didnt go up i'm not sure if it was evening or weather reasoning, either way it was still an amazing tour!

Great place for a great night on the water. Staff is fun. Drinks are pricey but not too bad. DJ they had the last time I went was kinda trash. But. He played a couple bangers. But. Overall. They need better DJs.

As far as the boat goes, it's a nice vessel, although potentially ones without motors are available in towns like Lunenburg for tours.

What really made this a bad experience was the music blasting at ridiculous volumes from massive loudspeakers. Any chance of hearing seagulls, harbour sounds, waves, or any other "sailing" experiences were drowned out by nearly deafening songs. And if you think they were "normal" songs, they were more like pirate songs (and not the good kind).

By 20 minutes I was practically praying that the tour guide would come back on the PA system and tell us something very long so I wouldn't have to hear that ghastly music again.

If they'd turn the awful music OFF, it would've been a nice little cruise. But for $80, totally and completely not worth it. Go try the Bluenose II in Lunenburg and see what sailing's really like.
