Been with TD for way too long. I work in customer service, and would never treat my customers the way TD treats their customers. They like to tell their customers they are liers, and no care at all for customers. So done with TD, going elsewhere, and advise others to do the same.

TD Insurance USED TO BE a wonderful company to deal with. We as a family have been with them for years however we are going to have to move on. They have awful customer service, no compassion, and a DO NOT CARE STAFF. They have absolutely no problem withdrawing your money out of your account however when you make a claim they ignore you. Leave you homeless after a flood and tell you that you have the proper insurance but after that your ghosted. So my advice to everyone if your looking for insurance do not go with this company unless you live in a perfect world and just want to give them their money and no service when needed.

Unfortunately I’ve had to make 4 claims with these idiots. All were not at fault on my end. Every. Single. Time. It’s a run around and takes weeks on weeks to hear back from them to finally get my car fixed. I’ve been with them for about 5 years and their prices are insane. I was originally marked at fault for one of my claims and later switched to not at fault.because of that when I would call other insurance companies to try and switch it would show that I had an at fault claim and TD would just say “well it shouldn’t” ok well it does? I asked for a reference letter to show other companies that I’ve never had any at fault claims and that was a fight to get. Finally switching to the insurance Costco offers, $60 a month cheaper. If you’re thinking of going with td? DONT.

Absolute WORST Customer Service in the industry! I have been trying to BUY all my insurance needs through TD but I can't believe how BAD they are at customer service!

For the most part I’m extremely happy with my insurance which covers my vehicles and home. My issue was after I installed my pellet stove I had a WETT certified inspector come on premises to inspect and sign the required documents which I posted and sent electronically to the adjuster. The increase in premium as okay, not good for something I used about 4 times this past winter. The increase in premium cost was okay until the amount of phone calls, picture taking and finally mail requiring me once again to have WETT certified inspector do another inspection. Seriously. After several hours on the phone and other support to satisfy every whim of the insurance I’ve reached the final straw. I’ll remove the pellet stove and remove the coverage, not worth the hassle as I guess my “corrosive atmosphere” garage is too dangerous.
This hassle is too fresh to not allow me to give a 5 star rating.

Aug 5 update. Well after speaking with the correct people this says has finally been resolved. True to my word I've edited my review. Well done TD personnel, including Ms Courtlander. 5* for the service you've provided.

Been a client since 2013 and they treated me like a second classe citizen. I did a home insurance claim, the first guy said it looked good to be approved, then we waited weeks. We followed up without answers only to find that another person was assigned the file and requested the documents again. The same thing went on, two weeks later no news and I escalated with management. Management denied the claim. They never took ownership of the bad customer service and called me by my first name without asking. What a terrible organisation with horrendous service and incompetent staff. They might have business degrees but they couldn’t run a limonade stand to save their life.

In the years I've been a customer I've never had to call and deal with TD for anything. They take my monthly payments and I never hear from them. I was recently in an accident where I was not at fault and at first thought, I was feeling that TD was the absolute WORST to deal with. Some time into the claim, I managed to switch adjustors and it made a world of a difference! So far it has been going much better than it was.

Written in their Stars. TD has horrendous reviews and well deserved, Pay Heed.

With TD for 20 years, may have been overpaying for car insurance all that time.
Recently, had 2 cars insured, sold one so called to drop insurance on that one.
Like any sane person, was expecting my premium to drop.
Well, shocked to find out my rate actually went up!
They tried some smoke and mirror explanation to confuse, about how Iost 20% multi vehicle discount.

I tried to explain, yes loose 20% discount BUT, impossible to be more than pré-discount price.just defines any basic math principle.
Fell on deaf ears.
The kicker is that when I shopped around I was shocked to find rates 1/2 of that with TD.
They had been charging me exorbitant rates for Years.
My advice, avoid to save yourself a truck load of cash.

So excited to be able to cancel TD today!

The one Star is because the guy I was speaking with was nice (and I understand this situation is not his fault), otherwise I'd say 0 if I could.

Called today after three years incident free to have my rates lowered after having my "new driver" status revoked, and sure enough my annual rate went up $200 from where it started. Not to mention it's bundled with my home insurance and my partner's auto, including "loyalty discounts" from my school and work.

If you're a new driver the the agent you're speaking with assures you the yearly rate will go down after three years when you're not a new driver anymore, don't believe the crook and seek a quote elsewhere

TD Insurance has always been an excellent service - great rates - efficient service - helpful and knowledgeable staff. But they have installed a new automated answering process which is absolutely painful! That needs to be scrapped!

This is a zero star.been with them over 20 years for home, auto and camper. 1 small claim needed to go through and we were supposed to hear back within 10 days. It is past 15 days and it is pure ghosting, our agent and his manager are not returning phone calls and emails. Very unacceptable service when someone is already going to a small crisis. There should be some sort of acknowledgement.

The answering service is also ridiculous. We need to go through a 10 minute machine who doesn't understand anything to try to even talk to someone.

One thing is certain. Once this claim is closed, so is my insurance with TD Meloche.

Had an accident in March 2021, I got REAR ENDED on the circ by someone going well over the speed limit, I relayed the story to my claims adjuster and I was put at 100% at fault. Tried for months to reach a manager, leaving call back number and everything, to no success. TD is one of the worst companies I’ve experienced. Be with them at your own risk.

I don’t know where to begin with TD Insurance. If I could give negative stars, i would. I had 3 people guarantee me on my deductible. I booked the appointment, then as time came to pay, the shop said that the purchase order from TD was for 5X my deductible. I had to pay it (even though it was confirmed by 3 different people). Then I spent weeks trying to get this dealt with, I was put through to probably 15 different people that all told me ‘I have no supervisor, I report to no one. I can’t help you though’ Then I got the department head, who was extremely rude, condescending, called me a liar, and more. I requested to escalate my complaint. Another 3 weeks went by and I heard nothing. Then someone from the complaints department called, apologized profusely about how I was spoken too, sent me a $25 amazon gift card, and said he was going to get me my deductible back. I have yet to hear from him (it’s been months now). Then I wrote to the senior complaints department, and they never responded. So i reached out again, received an automated response saying ‘we’ll get back to you within 30 days’. Still haven’t heard back from them either. While this was all happening, they addressed one of my statements that had a pink slip/personal info enclosed to my roommate. Talk about breach of confidentiality? I would rather be uninsured than insured with TD Insurance. They’re the worst company I’ve ever dealt with and their customer service is abysmal. Save yourself the headache, money, and stress and pay a little bit extra to go with LITERALLY any other insurance company.

Was great a few years back, but ever since they expanded its impossible to get ahold of them. The reps are no longer local and the quality of service is no longer a priority.

Super friendly, helpful, honest & very quick!
The only negative, is that it was very hard to find the correct phone number and required over an hour of searching, phone calls and being patched through.
