The Bayers lake Ray's Lebanese Cuisine

Fast, friendly service and amazing food. We had a chicken Shawarma wrap and a falafel wrap. Both awesome.

This comment relates to the Shwarma poutine (not all food). Don't order this. The fries aren't cooked fresh, reheated. Mine were cold & tough. The chicken Shwarma was good & lots of it. Paid $3.50 for generic small bottle of water. Was disappointed. I've eaten a Ray's in Dartmouth when Ray was serving. So much better. Sorry

Unfortunately they don't actually cut the shawarma fresh off the rotating oven. It just sits in a bucket for a while which makes the chicken dry out. Also, it's a bit expensive for a regular sized wrap.

The food wasn't necessarily for me but the service was good, the place was very clean and it's conveniently located.

This was my very first time here and I am quite disappointed. Everything (except hummus) was old and tasted awful. The regular rice and the rice with lentil was undercooked and the roasted veggies were dry as it could get. I chose the tabbouleh salad and I barely got any and also didn’t taste that good - it was missing more olive oil. The Shawarma chicken was also old and dry. The amount of bread given is too small. The hummus was very good and the only enjoyable part of my meal.
The server was chewing on something as I walked up to him to order and when he was serving me (while still chewing and talking) he visibly spit a bit on the food in front of him. Right when he filled up my plate the cook brought freshly made shawarma chicken to fill up the container I thought why not wait that few minutes to serve your customer fresh food? !

Very good restaurant it has big portions reasonable prices and lots of vegan options.our two children really enjoyed their food also.

We decided to try shawarma in this establishment, we were pleasantly surprised by the interior and service, it was very bright and clean inside. Service was fast. The shawarma with beef and chicken was delicious, you can feel that the meat was cooked on the grill, the minus can be written that the shawarma is dry, there is not enough sauce, the second thing is that I would like the meat to be on a spit, which is essentially standing idle, and not lying in the cooked- warmed up, the dolma was not bad. The prices are quite reasonable.

Another great lunch at rays! Always fresh, fast and friendly staff who know your order and treat you great. Best shawarma in town.

Sorry about this review but I have to say it.

Monday, the 3rd of April, I had food there and my stomach hurt for 24 hours after eating there. The chicken was not fresh, Shawarma is a Levantine Arab meat preparation, where lamb, chicken, turkey, beef, veal, or mixed meats are placed on a spit (commonly a vertical spit in restaurants). They kept the meat in a metal bowl to keep it warm, god known how long it was there. Good meat is supposed to be cut from the vertical spit, not some leftover meat.

Outrageous quality of food, they want to save money and serve me leftover. Well, I hope everyone see that review.

I work on a boat and the food is better there than in this restaurant!

You can get a lot of food for a great price. The garlic sauce is great, the chicken is well seasoned, and the salad and falafel tastes great! One recommendation would be to have softer potatoes because they are a bit dry and cold. All in all its been a good experience! Been there twice and will return!

Great food, good portion. Wish the potatoes were warm not cold, this palce is good though. Nice staff.

If you're looking for overcooked chicken, vegetables and unseasoned sides. This is the spot.

Ordered off of skip gave them a thumbs-up before I even tried it that was a bad decision usually I love this place but today the rice was undercooked super chewy an hard and they literally put the tiniest line of garlic sauce and that's like one of my favourite things a little disappointing

We had shawarma plates and kebab plates, takeout, about 5 times. The staff were very friendly, the restaurant itself was very clean, the quality of the food was always great, the price was good for what you received.

We did not eat-in, but there were lots of comfortable seats and a pleasant informal atmosphere.

They have a hot-line of food (long counter) that allows you to personalize your meal as it is being prepared.

We placed a large order for a “working lunch” at our office. The food was delicious (everyone kept raving about how tasty it was), the service was excellent, and the price was great. We’ll definitely be ordering from Ray’s for future work lunches!

I really liked Ray's in Bayer's Lake.
A friend of mine suggested it & we went and both enjoyed. It was my first visit.
I was unfamiliar with some of the menu items and ingredients and the two staff members were very helpful and informative, also friendly and full of cheer and good energy.
They offered substitutes due to a few food allergies I have.
My food was really great, although the lamb was a bit fatty on almost every piece, the rest of the meal absolutely was delicious.
I Can't wait to go back & try more.

This place is the best food I've have had that is from a Lebanese restaurant! You feel clean after your eat this food! It's definitely made with love!

To be honest, the food is good at Burnside location. However, the person work on the counter wasn't friendly at all. He make you fell, he want you to leave asap. This is not the first time I notice this.this is my last experience there for sure.

THE BEST Lebanese cuisine in Halifax. Plates are full, quality is always consistently delicious. Never a disappointment. Do yourself a favour and order NOW! 10/10.

Its a great Lebanese restaurant with friendly staffs. I had the Ray's special item and it tasted super good. I wish they had decorated the interior of the restaurant in a better way than it is now. Thats the only negative thought I have other than that they are really good and their food tastes awesome.

What an unexpected delight! New to Clayton Park And Nova Scotia, my husband and I are always looking to support local and find the lesser known hidden gems. In our search for the best chicken shawarma around we stopped in at Ray's Lebanese in Bayer's Lake. Very nice casual family feel and greeted by a very friendly young trainee (6: 30pm Jan 23 2022) made the experience good from the get go but when we saw not only the authentic ingred choices and enormously generous portions we got very excited! When we got home to eat the treats we ordered we were thoroughly amazed at how delicious the Chicken Shwarama is! Neighbourhood favorite. We will be back!

Go here just to go because it's amazing but if you're craving Lebanese food go here over the competition. You won't be disappointed. Food is far superior quality to other chains, and you get way more of it!

Great prices for the amount you get, had the falafel plate combo for take out, it’s a huge amount of food for the price. Added on grape leaves were delicious, everything tasted great. The picture does not do it justice.

Ray’s serves very high quality delicious “fast” food. Everything is delicious on the menu from the wraps, platters, award winning falafel to the salads. Options for vegetarians too (falafel, other vegetable dishes, salads).

I have been looking for a good Lebanese place for so long and THIS. IS. IT! Such a huge plate and incredible flavors! Will definitely be returning for more!

If you're a vegetarian and want a very good and very filling option go for the regular Falafel wrap.
We were lucky enough to order just as new and fresh falafel were coming out of the kitchen!

It was literally the best falafel wrap I have had in Halifax in the last few years.

First off the service was top tier, very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were larger than expected. The prices are on par with other Lebanese restaurants but with the large portion sizes it is really a good bang for your buck. Highly recommend trying Ray's if you are a fan of Lebanese food!

We picked up supper from Ray's for the first time tonight. I ordered the chicken shawarma combo plate - I highly recommend! Large portions at a reasonable price. I'll definitely order this delicious dish again.

Whoa! So glad we play tried this place. Delicious fresh food in huge portions for good price which is hard to find in Bayers Lake. We had a regular chicken shawarma which was humongous and beef Shawarma plate which was massive and so varied. Will be back.

Absolutely delicious, large portions for a good price. I can never eat the whole plate. So I always have leftovers for later. Hady is a great guy, the rest of the staff are really nice. I showed up after they closed by a few minutes. They still unlocked the door and filled my order.

Service was fast, prices were decent. I ordered a falafel plate which was a little salty but still tasty with good portion sizes.

My experience happened at the Dartmouth location on Saturday June 13 at 11: 30am. Entered the restaurant with my partner and Ray was sitting at a table relaxing as there were no other customers. I was told that men aren't served on Saturdays and only women are. I was confused and asked him to repeat himself. He did and then told me to get out and leave "the woman". I was absolutely appalled and started to walk out with my partner. He then said he was joking and tried to get us to stay. I told him it was an awful joke and we were leaving and was told off on the way out. I will never step foot in this place again. Absolutely disgusting behavior.

The restaurant has the ratings for a reason. Generous, tasty and reasonable priced. Would always come back

For $16.00, you don't even get a full piece of pita bread. Isn't fattoush usually topped with pita chips?

I'll give it another try. The first time, I had a chicken shawarma to go but it does not travel well and I wasn't satified with the portion. We'll see.

With lots of great Lebanese places in the city this is definitely a stand out. It truly is a case of the 'hole in the wall places have the beat food'!

Portion sizes are huge, and the selection of items is massive. Most items are actually cooked to order as well, so do be aware it is not like Mezza where you will be in and out in a few seconds.

If you are really hungry the large combination plate will fill up even the hungriest person!

Very neat place with outstanding friendly staf. We ordered both chicken and beef shawrma plates and we couldn't have been more satisfied. Food was delicious and they were generous enough to fill the plates with different types of rice, salads and of course meat.

Price is reasonable and I do recommend Ray's.

Had a shawarma roll today but it wasn't tasty as I expected. Was too much sour taste and too salty but I like Lebanese food.

I tried Rays for the first time today, ordered the Mixed plate, and it was incredible! The dish came with so many items and they were all delicious. I'll definitely be returning and would recommend.

We were the only ones in the place but it was after 8 on weeknight: food was fresh and delicious especially the lamb skewers! Owner was super friendly!

Still the *best* beef shawarma in town. Location is harder to get to than the one in Scotia Square, which unfortunately closed. But super good food, large portions and a good size restaurant.

The food was the best Middle Eastern food I have eaten in Halifax. And it wasn't too expensive.

My first stop on returning to Canada was Ray's for supper. Delicious, healthy, fresh food at a good price. One of my favorite places to dine, repeatedly voted Best Schwarma in Halifax. Love this place.

This is my Favorite place to grab lunch in Burnside. Service is good, food is awesome, portions are big, pricing is very reasonable. I love Rays!

First time at this Lebanese restaurant, and I don't normally eat Lebanese food because it normally doesn't have the Authentic taste like when I use to eat while growing up in Lebanon. Hady (Owner of Ray's) catered a Lebanese wedding once where I attended and I tried his food and was Shocked that the food I ate, reminded me of Back home.i tried his Restaurant for the first time today and have to say, I was Mind Blown again. I've tried Lebanese food in Canada from coast to coast and By far, Ray's has my approval and I would Highly Highly recommend this amazing restaurant to anyone. When family members come to visit me from Lebanon, hands down, this will be the restaurant I will be taking them to. This is a great place and the food is amazing. When I come here for lunch, I usually get the chicken Shawarma plate with taboulli, turnip etc.

The food has always been fresh, the place is clean and usually busy around lunch time, so give yourself some extra time.

The prices are at a reasonable point and you get alot of food when you order a plate.

If you're in Bayers Lake and looking for a great place for lunch, head to Ray's and you won't be disappointed.

Foods are nothing special, just like your average Lebanese restaurant. Good prices and portions tho!

Have been seeing their new advertising and was in the area and figure I'd give it a try as I haven't been having much luck with other Lebanese places. Safe to say I was looking for a new Lebanese home for food.
Tried the falafel plate, was greeted with good and quick service. But as soon as I sat down to eat I noticed everything on my plate was the same temperature, cold. Falafels stone cold and hard as a rock, also really lacking any flavour at all. Both types of rice stone cold, was in a rush and didn't have time to gripe and argue about food temperature but figure it should be known. Only part of the plate I really ate was the salad.

Happened tonight around 5: 45 in Bayer's lake, i did consider going back up to ask to microwave my plate but everyone was hiding out back and I didn't want to microwave my salad, other option was to what, get more cold food?

Fantastic experience this evening! The food was delicious, the portions were great/felt generous, the atmosphere was trendy while still being classy, and the staff were super friendly! I highly recommend giving them a go. They will be top of my list for top-notch Lebanese dishes.

I ordered a takeout shawarma combo plate the guy was acting like he wasn't interested to serve us. He wouldn't even ask me what vegetables and add on's i needed. After he made the order. He jus left the box on the table, so i asked for a plastic bag. He just throwed it on the table. Very poor customer service. I would never go to this place again. Dartmouth location
