Best pub in New Glasgow. Food is fresh tastes home made and the ambience feels like it is straight out of Dublin. Kind staff that make you feel right at home. Love having a beer beside the fire in the winter.

In a great location right in downtown new Glasgow. Close to the water front and I’m petty sure there’s roof top seating in the summer that would have beautiful views of the river.
Parking beside the building, also available up / across the street in a lot or down the main road if needed.
Burger & fries were delicious and staff were friendly

The BEST seafood chowder I’ve ever had. The service was great - very friendly. And the local rosé cider was divine.

How to imagine an Irish pub in Canada. There was a large selection of beers and food. In addition to smaller snacks such as fried sausages, there are many delicious main courses with various meat and vegetarian dishes. The fries get special praise from us, they weren't greasy and were still nice and hot at the table.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch on the way to Halifax from Cape Breton Island. The restaurant was not busy on this Tuesday around 1 pm. I ordered the chish and fips and he ordered the parmesan breaded haddock. He had a local rose cider that was delicious and the IPA I got was also very good. The fish and fries were delicious, although he couldn't detect the parmesan on his. The hostess that greeted us was a friendly Irish woman. Our waitress gave us a bit of a weird experience. Before we ordered our food, we told her we had some questions. She answered my question about the IPA and fish and chips, but as my husband was about to ask his question about the fish he was interested in, she just walked away and started doing something at the computer. She didn't come back so I got up and approached her nicely, saying we had more questions. She came back and answered everything we asked her very abruptly. When we ordered our food she asked if we wanted tartar sauce. I said yes and my husband said no. When she brought the food, I was served maybe a tablespoon of tartar sauce. I said I would need more please and she said yes, but she would have to charge me! I asked her if she could please give me the one that would have come with my husband's food. She hesitated, and said something about food prices being so high, but then she did bring it. It was so salty, I couldn't even eat it after all. I noticed I hadn't been served a piece of lemon, so I had to get her attention and asked for that. She brought me a skinny sliver of lemon. The irish hostess came by and upon request got me an actual lemon wedge. Overall, the food and drinks were delicious, but Tara, our server was abrupt and acted like we were an inconvenience to her. Our lunch with tax and tip was about $70.

What an awesome little pub that really has a true European atmosphere! The staff are wonderful and the beer was cold! They even had a great group of Celtic singers when we were there!

Gorgeous old building with lots of ambience and nice food. Close to the bridge, the river is a picturesque place to walk.

Honestly one of my fav places to grab a bite to eat and a cold beer. The bar is small but lots of seating. Staff are friendly and food is awesome. Have been several times and tried different food items and zero complaints.

Amazing experience, excellent owners very friendly and polite. The atmosphere was top notch. It almost felt like we were in Old Montréal but with an East Coast twist. The Owner gently suggested the Eggs Benedict, by far the best hollandaise sauce I ve ever had. The homemade fries that came with it were perfect. My girlfriend's Ruben was spot on, we are definitely going back soon!

A magical experience for our whole family. Carmel and team opened early for us to eat before our matriarch’s funeral. The food was incredible but the service was one of a kind. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

I always make a point to stop here when in New Glasgow. Such a lovely place, full of exceptional staff and a creative kitchen! I tried a special dish they were running for the day; Greek tacos! I could have eaten six of these; they were sooo good!

Awful experience considering I couldn’t eat there because my girlfriend didn’t have her Id at 7 pm ridiculous absolutely not the place for anyone looking for a bite

Gorgeous old Irish pub, with a fantastic menu. This might become a regular stop for us while driving across Nova Scotia.

The BEST blackened haddock I have ever had. The flavor was on point. 10/10 recommend and def would go back again when I'm in town.

The service was gold and the food was stupendous! I ordered the fish n chips (homemade spicy tartar), but the mussels looked really good too.

Superior pub!) We muchly enjoyed two bowls of mussels (excellent sauces) and an also very good soup-of-the-day. The desserts were also scrumptious and sophisto.
Bangers & Mash? Yum!

Very cool little pub, I'm obsessed with old buildings so this was the place to go! Food was delicious, the seafood chowder is amazing! Super friendly staff, lots of fun stories to share and a welcoming environment! Highly recommend for pub food and good atmosphere

Awesome on tap beers! The servers are super friendly. I had the sun dried tomato and scallop pasta, it was DIVINE! Also a very cute atmosphere!

We came here as a group of 5 on the week of the 15th. We were on our way to cape Breton. We are from Vancouver. This is a lovely old Irish pub. Very authentic looking and feeling. I ordered the fish tacos. My partner ordered the blackened haddock. I have to say that this was one of the best, most memorable meals I’ve ever had. And I’ve had them all over the world. On our way way back from Cape Breton we stopped here again. Lightning strikes twice! You have to go here. We got to meet Carmel the owner along with the rest of her staff. All top notch! Being in the restaurant business you really appreciate the effort that goes into this place. The food, service and ambiance were over the top. What a treasure to find! See toy again next year!

Fabulous staff, nice selection of craft beers. Always lovely to sit by the open wood burning fire. The patio is tucked away upstairs, great place to have an affair.

Really, really great food. Had the choice of 2nd floor patio or 1st floor indoor dinning. Great old fashioned pub. Staff were very friendly!

Quaint ambience, lively on weekend evenings, decent selection of local create beer, fish and chips were real good, pasta was just ok.

Arrived. Did not get greeted. Sat down for 15-20 minutes. Got a menu. Didn't get asked what we wanted to drink or to start with while we waited. Their was a gentleman in an orange shirt that didn't seem to be helping. The female server was busy but not busy to the point where we couldn't be asked if we wanted a drink or anything to get us started.

We just walked out. Not sitting around for 20 minutes if it's not busy and I can't even get a coffee or water while we stare at the wall.

Will not be bothered to return.

The best ambiance of any pub you'll find in the Maritimes. Very cosy and snug. A truly historic building. Great eats. Great place for a date and a beer.

Dock Gang was there with live music (10 stars). Really good food but a little pricey and waitress was overworked (needed another to help her)

Went into eat on Friday night, it wasn't overly busy so we got waited on right away. We then waited for 40 mins for our food, when it finally came we asked the server for condiments for our fish.meanwhile we start to eat out food only to realize it was ice cold. It had to have sat out for a good while before coming to our table. The waitress never did come back with our condiments so we got up and paid for our drinks and left. Won't be coming back again.

I love going here. Brunch (limited but very good), lunch, dinner. Doesn't matter, anytime is a good time to go to the Dock. Do it. And take a cab home.

We were looking for a bite to eat and a pint on a Saturday afternoon in New Glasgow and we found The Dock. I liked the atmosphere, it was cozy and warm feeling, but kind of crowded and the live music was great if a bit too loud. Service was slow and the food was expensive with small portions and overcooked fries. I wouldn't order the fish tacos again, the burgers were quite small and the overall portion sizes were inadequate. The beer was good and cold tho.
