The Floatation Centre

I had my first floatation therapy session yesterday (Sunday) and I feel elated. I am less irritable and more relaxed, and it really helped my Monday not feel like a Monday! My ADHD never ending internal monologue was finally tuned down. The location, vibes and staff were all amazing and I can’t wait to go back.

This place is great! I make floating a regular part of my mental health hygiene. Floating pairs extremely well with meditation, which is pure bliss when you're floating in the comfort of the tank in pure darkness, little sound, and no expectations. Highly recommended for anyone looking to add to their well-being toolkit.

After years of wanting to try a float, I booked an appointment on an impulse and I’m so glad I did. The space was clean, comfortable, and full of character. Jenelle was so welcoming and immediately put me at ease.
For (roughly) the first 45 minutes, my mind flew through abstract ideas, memories, and feelings in a completely formless and indescribable way. After my psyche was good and tired out, I settled into this deep, beautiful, trance-like state. It was incredible. I have not stopped recommending this to anyone who will listen and I will definitely be back!

Great space and perfect vibes, I highly recommended a visit for any of the services they offer. Booked a massage package with Taylor and am so glad I did. Literally one of the best massages I have had in years from many establishments and the recommendations for at home excercises were awesome. I have also tried the sauna and cold plunge bucket and left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Ps the manager is really hot

Can't recommend this place enough. It's such a unique, friendly, welcoming space. I went for a massage recently and got soaked in the torrential rain, and they DRIED MY CLOTHES FOR ME while I was in my treatment. Wonderful humans going above and beyond.

Such a quirky and lovely infrared sauna experience!

Room was impeccably clean, spacious to get around, and so COOL! Like, little hidden mushrooms, touches of coloured lights. The shower tiles spell out "Magic Is Real"!

The cold plunge bucket was a really nice touch for my sauna experience. At other places I just use the shower a few times during the session, but using the bucket was very invigorating to my system.

And of course, the staff are lovely, and the space is incredibly safe and queer friendly.

Go go go!

I booked a floatation session for both me and my friend who was visiting. It was a very unique experience and I really enjoyed it. The salt felt super nice on my skin and I was so relaxed that I fell asleep. I really want to do it again!

Very cool experience. My fiance and I both went. He has ADHD and had a hard time coping with staying still. He ended up getting out before the time was up. I enjoyed it! I'm claustrophobic and didn't find it bad at all! I was able to lay with my arms fully above my head and not touch the bottom or top. I loved the space. And I didn't touch the bottom, which I wondered about. It is super relaxing! Crazy feeling just floating with nothing to touch, hear or see. Not sure we would do it again, but it was very cool to try!

I decided to come back to floating after close to five years. Harley greeted me at the front desk and went over a few details I forgot about. Harley is a gem!

I hit that perfect bliss spot, where I felt like a big blob of jelly floating in space, my mind was blank in a peaceful way. I had a wonderful release cry in the lounge, the wonderful "after float tea" was so calming. I highly recommend consuming lots of water afterwards for hydration. Can't wait to try the infrared sauna and my next float.

I visited the Floatation Centre after a lifetime of wanting to try a float tank. It was on a whim, hopefully covered by my insurance, but if not, oh well. The location has mad Halifax vibes, just a really friendly atmosphere. The dunk tank itself and it's shower were pristine clean!

I had a great time, and can't wait to go again. Great meeting Janelle, thanks for the orientation. My ear plugs did fall out though, and I found out about the salty ear crystals

I was blown away by my first experience at The Floatation Centre! Jenelle made me feel so comfortable and was very good at explaining the whole process in a concise, down-to-earth manner. I had been looking forward to it since hearing about it on Mike & Kristen’s podcast, although I didn’t really know what to expect - having never done it before. Now, I can easily say that it exceeded my expectations! Floating felt weird at first but, once I did some deep breathing and my body and mind relaxed, I felt like I was floating in space and fell into a deep restful state. I left, feeling refreshed and at peace after grounding myself by doodling and sipping tea in the post-float area. Wonderful, vibrant but calming space! Warm, inviting staff. I will definitely be going back!

It was a great location and everything was tidy and organized. My issue with the float experience was with the mechanical background noise. I couldn't relax as it fluctuated and I couldn't block it out. Finished early and came out and the response was "well it was almost an hour".

It wasn't for me because of that noise and the response from the front desk.

Beautiful spot. Beautiful vibes. I feel amazing after my float. If you haven't gone yet, you should.

Had a wonderful experience coming here for a girls trip! The three of us each booked multiple services and the staff did a great job of accommodating us! Virgil is a great massage therapist and both the sauna and floatation tanks were amazing. I was especially grateful to the individual volunteering services who welcomed us, escorted us, and expertly talked us through each and every service! They really did it all and were so kind and helpful the entire time! Unfortunately I have terrible memory for names but they had some awesome tattoos. I loved the inclusive language used and that note was taken of my disability and potential hazards for me were pointed out / support and accommodations were readily offered.
