The Fourth Lock

A perfect weekend break outside the city in a beautiful cottage country. The accommodation is great, the rooms are clean, spacious and bright. The restaurant offers amazing food, everything tasted great and they have a large selection of beers. The staff is the best, they advise and help you with anything. I definitely recommend coming for the whole weekend or longer.

Food was mediocre and quite expensive. The fish and chips were grossly overcooked. It was extremely busy and noisy. Was limited parking with no roadside parking, so had to wait for a space or walk a distance.

We have stayed at The Fourth Lock twice now for a night before flying home. It is a good place for this as it is located only a 10 minute drive from Halifax airport and is very reasonably priced compared to those at the airport.

The rooms are pretty basic but had everything we needed for a nights stay and was very clean.

The first time we stayed was in April, we found it was a little noisy with the music in the bar downstairs and also someone staying upstairs was stomping around on the wooden floors.
To alleviate this, we went downstairs to enjoy some drinks in the bar! The music was off by around 10pm though so wasn’t so bad.

The second time we stayed was on Thanksgiving Monday so the bar was closed and we were the only guests so it was blissfully quiet!

I would definitely recommend the fourth lock for a nights stay, it’s excellent value and very convenient for the airport.

The blacked haddock was really good. The service was good too, didn't have a reservation so was sitting at the bar, a bit to close to my neighbors, but still a nice service from the barman. Next time I would get a reservation first, but will go back giving the chance.

We had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant! They went above and beyond to accommodate our large group for a 50th birthday party, making the celebration truly special. The waitress was not only friendly but also incredibly efficient, attending to our needs with a warm smile. The food delivery was impressively quick, ensuring we had a delightful time together. Thank you to the restaurant and its staff for creating such a memorable occasion!

10 mins from airport. Clean & tidy room with good dimensions. We recommand this B&B. Unfortunately, we didn’t stay long enough to try the restaurant.

Had a great stay at this place. The hosts are awesome and the location is amazing! Really scenic views of the lake. This property will be our go to for any future trips to the east coast. Thanks Mark and the co hosts for making this such a memorable experience for us.

Not a long drive for us, and this is a wonderful restaurant! We are not from Fall River but I have to say it is worth the drive! Had a party of 10 and Everyone loved their food, the service was amazing (thanks Abra) and the setting is so relaxing. Will definitely be back. I would think the patio would be awesome in the summer!

Quaint little spot, nachos were good. Would be nice on the patio in the summer. Was chilly inside the restaurant.

The four locks restaurant was amazing. The menu has something for anyone and was delicious. The Airbnb was spacious and private with a nice common area to visit with other guests.

There are only 2 main criteria for a good Bed and Breakfast- a good bed and a decent breakfast, both of which this place does not have.

We've stayed at plenty of B&Bs, and this was probably the worst. The bed was the softest we've ever experienced- we both melted into the bed the moment we lay on it. The pillows were very flat and seemed over used. No shampoo, just body wash in the shower. No sound absorption at all, so was loud with the pub downstairs. No TV, but they did have decent WiFi. The "breakfast" was a small paper bag with an apple, granola bar and a muffin. No coffee either. Only good thing about this place is the it was very clean.

Overall, we were so uncomfortable that we ended up leaving in the middle of the night to go stay somewhere else. Too bad, considering this place's close proximity to the airport. This was a barely passable overnight accommodation. Wouldn't stay here again.

Absolutely love this gem just outside the city. Great food and drink, wonderful atmosphere. It has quickly become one of our favourite places for a meal. The nachos, burger and pasta are all to die for!

I really like the atmosphere and over all look. Great service and excellent food. I have never been disappointed with my meal, very delicious and leave with a full belly.

Beau et bon restaurant! Les prix sont tout à fait convenable environ 20-30$/personne et les bières sont délicieuses! Les assiettes sont grosses et pleines de fruits de mer variés. De plus, vous pouvez manger à l'extérieur avec une vue magnifique. Service rapide et impeccable.

We rented the entire B & B for our family group and it was perfect. Close to the airport and with a beautiful water view. The unit was extremely clean with great quality of towels and bedding. We had dinner in the restaurant below and food was delicious. Cannot say enough about staff member Vanessa's quality of service and helpfulness. I highly recommend this location for food and accommodation.

Amazing service! Our Air BnB had to cancel our reservation somewhere else at the last minute. I called the Fourth Lock and Vanessa is my new BFF. 10000% recommend staying here. Will be back! (We stayed in the suites)

The Friday night special here was delicious! A great portion size, a great price, and perfectly cooked food. I will definitely be back!

Reasonable Prices, Quick and Friendly service and cozy Decor lending itself to a small Gathering with Friends or An Intimate Date. Common Menu Items but each with its own Fourth Lock Twist to make you rediscover your old favorites foods in a new savory way finished with their trio desserts.a bite of everything you crave! Certainly to become an easy favorite watering hole!

One of our favourite local spots! The atmosphere is on point! You feel like you could be at a trendy downtown restaurant but better with views of the lake! Nachos are to die for and wing nights with live music on the patio.it doesn't get any better!

Innovative and tasty food. Well thought out covidness. The owner/chef waits tables and makes you feel so welcome.

Every time we drive by we say that we have to try it sometime. We finally went last night for supper and it awesome. There were 5 if us at the table and everyone said great the food was and the service was just as good.

Highly recommend and this will be a new favorite spot for us!

This place is so beautiful I visited here first time I love the way they made there bar all the staff is very friendly and helpful bar tender mark makes a cocktail with some fresh cucumbers in that and I love it the chicken wings are best looks so fresh and crunchier as I expected I will go again definitely I’ll see you soon guys

Beautiful cozy little bar, waiter took orders of our party of 3, no pad to write on which probably he should have because he screwed up our beverage order 3 times before our meal arrived, meal took forever to come. I had haddock and fries, their homemade tartar sauce was horrible, actually thought it may have been salad dressing but was assured it wasn't. The haddock was overcooked on outside. The fish inside had no flavor at all. Their steak was delicious but the onions and mushrooms that were added on at a cost were the smallest portions possible. Probably would not eat here again.

Family took my partner and myself to eat and it was lovely. Had the original burger and she had the fettuccine. Both were amazing, burger was cooked very well and the fries were seasoned to perfection. Fettuccine wasn't heavy like most can be, it was light and creamy with chicken cooked with love. Will be back again. Cheers!

Fourth Lock is an awesome place for date night or some drinks out with friends - a beautiful ambiance both inside and on the patio. The service is as amazing as the food! They catered our wedding and our guests could not say enough good things about both the food and servers. 10/10, highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay. With no reservations, we showed up and immediately we were welcomed. The food was amazing, atmosphere was cozy and relaxing while being on point. Our order came quickly and was hot. The nachos were the best I have ever had. Great Saturday evening we will definitely be back can't wait to try the rest of the menu. ️

I tried one of their new menu items - the short rib - it was AMAZING flavour and very filling! Highly recommended!

The food was good, however, it appeared that they were very short staffed and it was a long delay in getting service. Hope this was just a one time event, since I live in the community and it's a nice spot for good eats.

We went to the Fourth Lock a week after they opened after the lockdown. Their menu was (understandably) smaller and they didn't have a number of drinks available. However, the patio was wonderful and relaxing, the service friendly enough and the food - delicious and decently priced. We will definitely be going back.
