The Garrison House Inn

Travelled around Nova Scotia and PEI for 2 weeks, so far it's been the best restaurant.
The best sea food chowder, amazing chocolate lava cake. Everyone enjoyed their dinner.

What a wonderful experience, the Establishment is very popular and the meals 'Exquisite', even with big long weekend and famous wharf rat rally in digby, just have time, relax and enjoy. Thank you, we really appreciate your love for cooking superb meals. We will be back soon. Need to come for Brunch next.always reserve a table.

Stayed there one night while passing through Nova Scotia, very charming Inn, room was nice and clean, bed was comfortable, breakfast was good. Service was excellent, very gentle staff!

I would start here again. Located across from Fort Ann. This historical home has just about all the original features. Original staircase and floors. It's not modern, so the floors and stairs creak. The staff and service was great. Very friendly and welcoming. The Garrison House is beautiful.

Great location. The building and Rooms are very outdated. Delicious breakfast with nice staff.

Warm and inviting hosts make you feel welcome. Stayed in the Queen Suite, which was nice. Full Breakfast, which was included, is very good.

Stayed overnight & had supper. First rate food & gorgeous historic rooms. Staff were all relaxed, friendly & accommodating. Highly recommend!

I went for dinner here with my family. Great service and the food was delicious, I highly recommend the seafood pasta.

We ate in the small eclectic restaurant in their old charming historic inn. Our meals were enjoyable but the presentation could have been more creative.

Had an excellent time at this unique eclectic heritage Inn. There were seven rooms I was in room number one. All rooms have their own private washrooms. Beds are incredibly comfortable. I enjoyed the food at dinner and at breakfast and the service was absolutely fantastic.

The Garrison was on a great location and the people are super friendly. The breakfast is also spectacular.

A couple things that would have made our stay even better - attention to detail. Our room floors were very dusty. Also, it'd be super nice to have accessible outlets on each side of the bed.

We had dinner there, hoping to get a good vegetarian dish fior my wife. The pasta primavera was quite mediocre. My fish was nice.

Tabitha and Brad are fantastic. The food is scrumptious and the accommodations are excellent. The Tesla level 2 charger across the street is a bonus.

We’ve stayed in a number of B&B and the Garrison House is at the bottom of our “likely to return” list. We checked in at 4: 00, and had the impression that we were interrupting the woman; we certainly did not feel welcome. She made no mention of breakfast times or the printed information we found in the room.
The suite was clean and spacious, but there were no glasses in the room and we had to search for soap. The tap for the bathroom sink needs repair - hard to find the position for on & off as well as for hot or cold.
The wifi was non-existent in the bedroom and weak in the associated living area; still weak but best in the bathroom.
The breakfast offerings were minimal: eggs any style, bacon and toast or a continental breakfast and beverages were tea, coffee and juice. My scrambled eggs were tasteless, certainly not what was anticipated by “farm fresh eggs”. The orange juice I ordered didn’t arrive with my meal; in fact, I had to go to the kitchen to ask for it. There was one other table of 3 guests who arrived after I did but received their meals first, so the dining room was not busy.
To check out I had to call out from the hallway several times, and eventually the server, who was cleaning the rooms arrived. My husband had supplied a credit card when he booked the room. I wasn’t offered a receipt, so I asked for one.
I didn’t see anyone but the server when checking out otherwise I would have reported the problem with the tap.
Given our experience, we will not be recommending the Garrison House.

Three solid stars for the spacious room. As for the mediocre dining, the boring breakfasts, the lack of any innkeeper, the strangely overheated building (weather was pleasantly cool summer), the weak WiFi only available in the dining rooms, and the complete lack of any lounge / social space, this was the least enjoyable bed & breakfast we stayed at during more than a week of exploring Nova Scotia. The location is superb but the Garrison barely passes as a bed & breakfast. Stay at superior bed & breakfasts and you’ll easily note the difference.

One of the several b&bs we stayed at on a week-long southwest road trip. Friendly hosts and convenient to town amenities. Would definitely stay again.

My family of 4 and our puppy stayed here in October. Cassandra and Tabitha took very good care of us all, cooked wonderful breakfasts, and recommended places to see. Wonderful rooms, fantastic dinner, truly fantastic people. Thank you!

Don't bring a good appetite. I had the jumbalaya and my wife had chicken with vegetables and grilled pesto potatoes. The quality of the food was excellent. Nevertheless the serving size was small. Mine was smaller than I have received all across Canada during this month and a half bicycle ride. My wife's meal comprised less than a full chicken breast, 3 beans, 3 pieces of potato, 1 asparagus spear, a few carrot rounds and a bit of a beet salad. At our request they brought her 3 more pieces of potato. We don't plan to go back.

Great stay and dinner. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Thanks to Tabitha for the extra breakfast ice cream. Sad to have missed the graveyard tour.

I worked there all summer washing dishes ik that place inside and out its a good atmosphere and good food

Service was fine, although it felt a bit rehearsed. Food was ok. Nothing we couldn't have made at home ourselves. Nothing wrong here, just nothing outstanding or memorable. Prices were fairly reasonable, although the portions were a bit on the small size. The decor and atmosphere were on point and there was an impressive wine and spirits menu.

Only ate here after hearing good things. Restaurant is not limited to overnight guests and we didn't book. Good wine selection with one off and bin end selections as well as the main list. I had pork which was very nice, but my partner's salmon was a little bit overcooked. The desserts are great though.
