The Golden Bakery

This bakery is Devine! Golden Bakery had phenomenally fresh sweets, their cupcakes are to die for, fresh, with a light icing like no other! Cookies are delectable, and you can taste the butter in them. We also got some chocolate cake yummmm. Definitely a place to visit!

I actually don't stop often enough, maybe its the location.
(Not sure because its on the Bedford Highway, and 20 minutes form home.)

Anyway, they have several items but I only ever have the baklava, made in store, not day (s) old and delicious. I feel like its some time tested grandmother recipe.

I like their fresh baked "Manoosh" flat bread with cheese & chicken. All bisquits and cookies are pretty unique for Halifax.

Pastries quality is getting better and better. They have very yummy taste and the filling is of a good amount. I would highly recommend it.

I got meat manoosh (la7m b3ajeen) the dough was cooked but the meat was raw. I had to put it in the oven to finish cooking when I got home. I'm arab so I'm familiar with this food and how it should be when prepared and this was not it. I drove 45 mins to go to this place and I was very disappointed.

I loved the chicken Fatayer! You can also dine in but it’s not big seating area.

They aren’t taking custom cakes order at the moment so suggested to call and confirm before you walk in.

Staff is friendly.

We bought three meat and cheese but unfortunately, they were all way too salty. We couldn't even eat a little bit of the food. When we called the restaurant to let them know, they weren't very nice about it. They basically told us tough luck and that some people like it salty. We were pretty disappointed with the food and the bad customer service.

Ordered cake for birthday. They took the order and on the day of birthday they were closed.

This no frills bakery also serves Lebanese foods. We tried the meat and cheese Manouche. Delicious. We also tried their pistachio baklava which was tasty with a hint of rose water and honey syrup.

They are not polite in dealing with customers, and food always expaird and bad in customer service. They do not respect customers and are indifferent. The woman in the front does not know how to work with customers.

I make my way here whenever I can even though it's completely out of my way at this point. Fatayer are the best I've had and I bring friends here whenever we're in the area.

Wonderful service, wonderful pastries. All sorts of baklava - pistachio, walnut, cashew, almond-filled, yum! Smells like deliciousness when you walk in.

Bread that I bought was gotten mold and other cookies were very old-fashioned. If you are expected pretty good reputation for common bakery’s tasty, well it is up to you but it is not recommendation at all. I would not mention the hosts.

A lovely place to get warm freshly out of oven Pita breads, Iranian bread and bread loafs/buns. It has become one of my favourite go to place in Halifax-Bedford for fresh breads. The cookies and other labenese deserts are also worth trying.
Do give a try to freshly prepare Zatar and beef pita bread, they are full of mouth watering mediterranean and labanese flavours.

REAL FRAUD! Overcharging and Selling Expired stuff!
The new owners, the Iranian man and his wife are overcharging all the time!
Always ask for detailed bill and doublecheck the total cost by yourself!
Each time you are paying for couple of items they add extra $5 to10 to your bill as hidden fee or overcharged one item in the middle in a way that customers never notice. Once they overcharged me extra $8 and when I asked for the bill they didnt provide (made an excuse that machine is not printing).
Also most of their stuff are expired Specially Doogh drink. He (the owner) charged me 4 times more than real price for his expired doogh.

Oh DAMN he is removing the expiry date of his stuff specially Doogh by alcohol from the containers and is still selling those expired ones.
Never ever go back to Nasty Black Bakery.

The new management is very good they have more options and everything is fresh!

Generally a nice bakery with lots of baked goods and other items for sale. Bought some small squares that were delicious but frightfully expensive! Won't be going back as there are a number of excellent bakeries in Halifax/Dartmouth that have just as good baked goods at a far better price.
