Fantastic location, a super easy stroll to the waterfront restaurants and shops. The cruise terminals are within an easy walk, as well. I was very pleased with my small but well equipped room.

I knew about the Haliburton as i grew up in Dartmouth, just across the harbour from Halifax, and passed by this hotel on my way to university almost every day for 4 years, but never visited it although it looked very inviting during those times.it always looked like how i imagined halifax would look during its early days in evolution with row houses that look like they were taken directly out of old england stuck side by side without alleys in between, plank board siding and peaked roofs with white accent trim around the windows and doors.we stayed here at the Haliburton for a night when we arrived in town and checkin was painless, and i did not realize, but the haliburton actually encompasses the adjacent 2 additional townhouses under their umbrella.we stayed 2 doors down and on the main floor in the back of the house.as you might expect from a 1900's era rowhouse, the build is wood throughout and with a converted house into a hotel, the amenities reflect a victoria era facilities.the room is a good size, not too large and included bathroom has original fixtures.the hotel and room are clean and there is a vintage feel to everything.in the morning during checkout there is a dining area with restaurant in the main building as well as a lounge for sitting with coffee and reading as you like.overall a unique experience, and a good place to rest.value for money is relatively poor, but prices are crazy in halifax and the maritimes anyways, so probably consistent with the market pricing.would come again.

Wonderful inn near downtown and waterfront. Comfortable rooms and great staff. Will definitely be back next time in Halifax.

En plein coeur du centre ville, à 2 minutes de marche du port de Halifax. Les chambres sont superbes.mais très petites, mini tv, style ancien. Mais je ne trouve pas que ça vaut le prix

Great little hotel. Very clean. Friendly staff. Restaurant on premises closing soon permanently. Lots of steep stairs. Cute courtyard.
Breakfast should have choice of hot items. Good location. Unfortunately one person in our group had a mouse in his room and couldn’t change room because hotel was full that night. It can happen in an old building, we do understand, staff put. A mouse trap under the bed…. And the person slept fully dressed for the night. Not a good rest night for 245 $
Not really the hotel fault I guess but it did left a weird feeling for the guest.

Our room was on the small side, very small compared to the pictures of other rooms. No desk, A/C barely working. Stair were difficult to manage for a cane user. Small risers and very low handrail. Suppers were very expensive and the breakfast that was offered was a surprise. We searched out local restaurants for meals.

Wonderful hotel. Very kind people. My wife and I stayed there for two nights and wish we had booked for longer. Centrally located and beautifully appointed.

I loved this hotel! The first night I had a queen room with a queen bed and a single bed in a little alcove off the main room. Perfect for my daughter. When she left to go back home, I moved into a 'petite' room for 3 more nights. The room was ample sized. The rooms were very clean, staff were lovely, and the location was perfect. I'd definitely stay at the Halliburton again.

Rooms are clean and cosy. Location is perfect!
Parking is limited, so timing is necessary.
Walls are a bit thin, but still good for the price.

If you're like me, you gravitate to the negative reviews first as the most accurate assessments of a location's merits. In this regard, I've found all of the negative reviews for the Halliburton to be as far removed from reality as Pluto is from the Sun. Addressing a few of them individually: Dated decor. I'm wondering which decor one would otherwise associate with a Georgian-period dwelling? A classically restrained Sheraton-style, or a modern arrangement one normally associates with gaudy nail salons and discotheques? The second quibble is the absence of an elevator. Most people should be able to comprehend that this structure predates the invention of the elevator by over half a century. Secondly, two flights of stairs isn't the physically demanding equivalent of the Hillary Step on Everest, and shouldn't deter anyone from staying here. If anything, the stairs add to the charm of the Inn. Noise: This will only come as a shock to someone under intense medication, but there isn't a large thriving city on earth whose chief attribute is an over abundance of silence; it's kind of like expecting a swim to not make you wet. Despite its location, I found the noise levels low enough not to attract my attention. Regarding interior noises, I didn't hear anything. Tiny TV: Small televisions are only an issue for small minds. I could continue, but am sure that a reasonable person would be able to extrapolate their own conclusions based on my analysis. My impressions: It was reminiscent of a stay in an exemplary inn in Edinburgh; The Inn is charming and classy; The staff were uniformly kind and courteous; The food in the restaurant was delicious; Everything was tidy and spotless; The room was darling; I will definitely be returning; Don't believe negative reviews written by the callow.

A perfectly built quaint boutique hotel situated at the best location in Halifax. Stayed here for two nights, had to cancel one night due to flight getting rescheduled and they elegantly refunded the night despite it being a last moment cancellation.

The whole place is charming and the vibe is absolutely amazing. The rooms are cozy and the small library and the restaurant feel like a movie set from the 80's. Free parking is available just behind the hotel and everything is at a walkable distance.

The staff is fabulous- very polite and courteous, always helping out with a smile.

I will not go to any other place in Halifax when I visit again. Thank you Leila, Molly, Rachel for being the most gracious hosts to us.

You will not be disappointed if you book here.
