I’ve been going to Heather Harroun since 2017. As a blonde I know how important getting the right stylist to do your colour is! I am so lucky my first appointment back in 2017 was with Heather! She creates the most beautiful, dimensional and healthy blonde I’ve ever had each time I sit in her chair. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair than Heather. I’ve recently moved back to NB from Halifax and I will continue to drive 4 hours just so Heather can do my hair. Thank you so much Heather, you truly are the best:)

Chose to come to Brillante to see Josh based solely on these reviews and my expectations were exceeded! Josh was able to transform my hair to a beautiful blonde colour by using highlights. I haven't had a hair cut that I love as much as this one in years! Also, Josh uses a special blowout technique that made my hair bouncy and voluminous and I just loved it! Josh also just has a great personality, making it a fun experience when you have to sit in a chair for hours. Thanks Josh! I will be sure to come back and recommend!

I highly recommend sitting in Josh Blanchard’s chair, especially for blonde and long hair services! I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to my hair from bad experiences with previous stylists but Josh always makes me feel so so comfortable and reassured. We’ve had two sessions to get my extremely long hair blonde with no breakage (!) and I couldn’t be more happy! I always leave with the BEST blow out feeling like an absolute queen! Thank you Josh!

Wow for 178 dollars it sure was not worth it. After two weeks I cannot even see any highlights! Very poor service. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND at all. Im not impressed.

I called the day before and they were able to squeeze me in for a last minute haircut appointment. Lily was my hairdresser and she is the sweetest! She gave me her own personal opinion with the style I wanted and took her time to perfect my hair. I am soso inlove with how my hair turned out and will definitely rebook with Lily!

I drove in to the HSC from Bridgewater for a hair appt but the hairstylist I booked with became unavailable (for reasons out of her control). Nicole C.stepped in so that I could still get my hair cut and she did an incredible job with a tricky request. It was so appreciated and I'm so happy with the cut - I will absolutely be going back to Nicole.

I grew up with terrible experiences getting my hair cut. This is the first place that has made me feel welcome, comfortable and that knows exactly what I want and helps me achieve my hair goals. Hannah is the best waxer I’ve ever had. I’ve been going to her for years waxing my eyebrows and she does them perfect everytime. I can’t recommend her enough. I’ll never go anywhere else

I don't remember her name but you must have it on record. I was there at 2p on June 22. I had two photos on my phone with an idea of what I wanted similar to what I have done every summer. She said she would use clippers or some instrument I associate with men's hair cuts. That never happened before and I have been going to this location since 2014. She was pleasant but asked so many questions I should have been suspicious, whereas others have just gone ahead and cut according to the photo with maybe a comment or two.
When I paid I realized I had a very junior person which I did not want. But I know how it happened. A month ago I dropped in for a bang trim and she did it. Fine. She wanted me to book my next appointment which I never do in advance but I relented. So I got her again for the full cut. Really disappointed. I feel lopsided. I'll be wearing a cap or hat all summer.

Always get great service at this Head Shoppe location. Hannah is my go to estetician and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for one.

The prices are insane, I went there a few months ago to get a price on my hair and I was told it would take multiple appointments and be up to 600$. I called multiple other hair places and all of them could do the same thing for less than 300$ and in one appointment. These people just want your money, you're much better off going to a local smaller hair salon.

Sam did my gel nails 2 weeks ago and she did an amazing job! She was very professional and was so sweet my whole appointment!

Hannah is the brow queen. She has been the only person I will allow to wax and tint my eyebrows for the past few years. She greets you with a smile every.single.time.and she's just so refreshing to talk to. She really listens to what you want and delivers the best shape, colour and length. You're missing out if you haven't yet gone to her.:)

Very bad customer service ever! They are not professional in dealing with customers. In the beginning, they told you we have this and this; however, when the time of your service comes, they told you we are sorry we don’t have it. I’m so disappointed about that.

Every 4 (ish) weeks I go in to get my brows waxed and tinted by HANNAH! She is not only the sweetest human being but her work is incredible. I always leave looking SO MUCH better than before lol! I 10% recommend her:)

I didn't have an appointment but they got me in. The girl didn't shampoo my hair.she straightened it and dry cut it. I had longer peices hanging everywhere.not impressed for what they charged!

I keep getting charged for bonder product that i did not get because i have all that at home, my hairdresser is always reminded of that and shes great, but when it comes time to pay they still add it in. Im not impressed, this has happened a few times.

I went for my first trim since restrictions have lifted in Nova Scotia. The staff were friendly and professional, asked the recommended questions and did a no-touch digital temperature check before entering. There were placed marked on the exterior to people to wait for appointments. They ensured everyone was wearing a mask or provided masks to those who didn't bring one. Everything inside was marked with pathways and stations were marked as sanitized and were well separated. My stylist, Kenedie, was great, showed lots of care and was friendly throughout the appointment. I left with a great trim and style. Kenedie walked me out to the super friendly front desk staff who were lovely. I'm already pre-booked for my next appointment!

Had a pedicure here.over $100 for approximately 35 minutes in the salon. They had a stool/mixing bowl for me to soak my feet for 10 seconds. I chose shellac and have had it on for 7 days and it’s already coming off.very unimpressed with the service/product. So so many better salons in the city. Will not be returning.

An uneven color, trim, that was suppose to be just the ends ended up with me losing more than an inch on one side of my head the back was totally uneven. For someone trying to grow their hair this was very upsetting. The fact that it cost me more to fix it when I got home added to my disappointment. Had to lose more hair and add extensions! I would never recommend this place to anyone who cares about their hair.

First time I had a guy cut my hair. He did great. I near froze in the section where they wash your hair. Purchased suggested products for my hair and they didn't improve anything I was trying to fix.

WORST nail experience ever. I was charged 100$ for gel nails that look unfinished and lumpy, my nails came off after 2 DAYS. I let the esthetician know that my nails came off so soon and she completely ignored my message! First visit here and not impressed at all.

I brought my 4 year old in to get her nails painted and it cost me $23.for a 4 year old who will likely have it scratched off in less than two days. They should have a separate price list for kids but I guess they don’t want kids coming in there so the price is a deterrent so I won’t be taking her there again or going there for services for myself. First time I never left a tip for something in my life.

The most horrible location whatsoever with the most unhelpful ignorant employees. I couldn't imagine the place where I felt more unwelcome. I am visiting Halifax to celebrate holiday season, and decided to go there on Boxing day to buy some hair supplies, and ended up completely ignored with the spoiled mood. Now I know why this place is almost empty on the busy day.

Never again. If you can't tell the customer straight up that you can't replicate their cut from a photo last time it was cut, then don't try to do some other thing. If you can't do it be honest. At least I could have left before the hacking began. Never again

The people here really dont know what they're doing, but they were all super nice and at least they tried, which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. Really sad that im going to have to walk around with an uneven lash lift though:/

Never come into the store. I was so disappointed that they forced me to buy their stuff. I tried a hair brush in the store. No one remind me I cannot try it on my hair and no one prevent me before and during I tried the brush, but they told me I have to buy it after I tried the brush. In fact, I asked them if I can try it before I tried and they responded “yes”. The reason they forced me to buy it was they cannot resale it and they assume everyone know this policy made by themselves (obviously not). I accept the reason (their consideration for health) but I never accept their service. It was absolutely a fraud! They just explained they misunderstood my question when I asked them about if I can try the brush as that simple way, but they required me to afford to their misunderstanding. It really was the worst service I have seen! By the way, the brush doesn’t have any case or package, and I didn’t see any notice near by the brushes as well.

I've been growing my hair out for about a year and it was time to get my ends trimmed up. Even though I've never been here I felt very at home and I felt very taken care of. Perfect cut, exactly what I was looking for and some great advice on products to keep it healthy.

Everything from beginning to end was absolutely lovely. I felt very comfortable and trusted Lisa completely! She was amazing at explaining the whole process and I think I've found my new go-to for all things beauty in Halifax!

Ugh. Worst Headshoppe in the city. Everyone knows that though. They send the crappiest stylists fresh out of hair school there as well as the ones that are not new but just should not be doing hair. Nothing complicated anyway. I've only ever bothered w this location for wash and blowouts last minute and even that cannot be accomplished in a timely fashion and still walking out with wet hair. But.they're open on Sundays because it's in the mall. My mistake. Repeated mistake. The girls at the hair school on Lacewood may be slower but they do a MUCH better job! HDC on Lacewood it's called. Goodluck.

Don't go here for bikini waxes. I think the esthetician just graduated, or was having a really bad day. She pulled on my skin a lot, and didn't do enough on my bikini line, my butt or buttcrack I'm pretty mad paying 40$ to only have 4 strips of wax done, and to have the wax spill on me while she was about to apply it.

I am not even surprised that HeadShoppe has one of the lowest ratings for hair salons in Halifax. I think that they mainly owe this to the people at the desk. They make many mistakes and they are rude too. They told me one price before the service and when it was time to pay, the price was higher. When I inquired about it, all she could say was that it there's nothing that can be done now because the service has already been provided although the mistake was on their end. From what I see from other reviews, this seems to be part of their culture. Don't go there if you don't want to risk leaving in a bad mood.
