The India Hut - Authentic Indian Cuisine

Really nice staff but we all felt that the food was not "authentic" Indian at all (including friends from India). It seemed like sauces were from a jar, etc. We didn't finish what we ordered. Hopefully they will improve with time as the folks working in there were very kind and nice to chat with as we waited for our order. 2.5 stars for food, five stars for the service/staff. The young lady working at the counter taking our order was very kind and personable. Fingers crossed they can improve their recipes/ingredients.

We went in for the lunch special and it was the best butter chicken we've ever had! Looking forward to going back and trying the rest of the menu. Staff were really friendly and nice.

Amazing! The food was incredible! We had the samosa channa chaat, butter chicken, and sambar, with rice, naan, and mango lassi. Everything was delicious and each dish was uniquely flavoured so we shared with each other. The mango lassi was so creamy and refreshing, balancing the spice from the food. I found that the portion sizes were generous for the price and we both had left overs we boxed up to take home. Our server was very nice and brought our food quickly after ordering. You must try this restaurant in Truro.

All the food we tried has a overpowered tomato pury taste which is really bad. And i personally feels all the dishes have the same masala except they are adding the meat of your choice. On the contrary to the taste of food, the service is exceptional. Me and my friends feel so bad about the food and we tried our best to eat as much as we can because of the money we spent on the food and and need to avoid the wastages.

I have ordered from here for 5 times now. All of my orders were through DoorDash. The beef curry and pork vindaloo tastes exactly the same. The items are overpriced, and the portion sizes are small. The butter chicken is too spicy. The Samosa Channa Chaat and Mango Lassi are the only things that tasted good to me. The Indian coffee was not good at all for the price they sold it at. Overall, it was not a good experience.

Please stop fooling with naans bought from atlantic store and just heated on a pan and literally nothing was even close to good butter chicken was like the sauce was bought from walmart just to make it easier to prepare butterchicken and shahi paneer was everything other than shahi paneer

We were pleasantly surprised - very tasty food in an unassuming spot on a Truro side street… channa samosa, saag paneer, butter chicken, naan, lassi, everything was really good.

Good food, very friendly.unfortunately the Naan didn't hit the mark for me, and the price/amount of food ratio left me feeling unsatisfied

I wish this place was open more often. I love Indian cuisine. The few dishes I did try were very tasty. I like how they are very traditional with their spices and you're getting authentic heat with your dishes.

Literally the best Indian food I've had! I was skeptical, thinking I was spoiled with places in halifax but my experience was way better here. The flavors are top notch and you get great portions. Me and my partner both got the Shahi paneer, Naan, rice, and a Lassi each. My 18 month old son ate so much of the curry and rice and is usually picky. I can't rate it high enough! (maybe next time I won't eat it so quick and will take pictures)

Ordered from here from my hotel. Got the veggie somosa with channa masala and the coconut curry chicken. The channa was really flavorful and savory, but the somosas were soggy; probably better if you order in the restaurant and eat it right away. The coconut chicken was maybe a little too coconutty and I wasn't really able to eat much of it since they packed two forks and it was difficult to eat without a spoon

Location, is good, in a small town, we found lots of free parking at our visit.
Decorations and layout, the place was a house and turned to a business. Nothing to say about layout. However, Decorations require upgrades.
Waiting to be seated, there was no Waiting time.
Services, was excellent, the people working there are very nice.
Food, really amazing, tasty and delicious
If you like? Hot and chilly, you should visit them.
Prices are $ affordable abd within expectations.
Conclusion, try them if you are around.

The samosas are a fusion dish (apparently common on the beaches in India?) and come covered in a curried chickpea / yogurt “gravy” (?) and were the best I’d ever had! We also had the chicken vindaloo (outstanding) and the veggie / GF Sambar dish- aromatic and perfect.

Absolutely delicious! The deconstructed somosa dish was phenomenal - so many flavours! We also had the butter chicken and sombas, which were just as tasty! The servings were a great size and well worth the price.

Great Food! Friendly staff! The kitchen is small so outputting a lot of food fast is tough but its worth the wait! I say go for it, sit back and enjoy the grub.

I recently ordered the vindaloo and mango lassi for delivery. This restaurant really delivered exemplary service, were very patient and accommodating. Look forward ordering from them again. Vindaloo was very spicy and delicious. My new favorite soul food place in Truro. Wishing India Hut years of success.

The food is AMAZING and lunch specials are filling and affordable. The owners are super nice. Decor is Bollywood themed and comfortable. Very clean, very fast.

I'm very honest in my reviews and i will carry on with that tradition. I've been meaning to get in here to try it as i love Indian cuisine.i was not disappointed, the interior is not fancy by any means, if you care about that this place may not be for you. However that matters nothing to me as everything was clean and tidy, the staff were very friendly and i had a great conversation about their history, I was surprised they did not have samosas, I got the special that day which was butter chicken with fresh naan bread. It was delicious the food came out piping hot from the kitchen very nicely presented in authentic Indian style dishes. The food was very good, everything was quite authentic which someone who knows Indian food can appreciate. I respect the owner for not watering down the menu for the Canadian palet and keeping things authentic the way they should be. It was not quite as spicy as i normally would get but he did add a little extra spice to my dish which was good of him.i would love to see samosas added to the menu in the future as they are a favorite snack of mine. All in all I had a very good experience, I will most certainly come back here again and I would advise anyone who wants to get authentic Indian food to give it a try for sure. Owner was very friendly and informative.definitely recommend!

Samosa appetizer was delicious as was the naan and various dishes we tried. Vindaloo was hot, but not too hot. Butter chicken perfectly done. Coconut chicken and Masala chicken were scrumptious! Will be back.
