The Local Public House

Waitress was great! Food was awful. The burgers were burnt, the onion rings were stale. Hardly any toppings on the Nachos. Watered down pop. I lost my appetite half-way through my meal. (And I’m not fussy when it comes to food.)

My boyfriend and I ended up getting food-poisoning. He broke out in hives, and felt sick. I ended up getting a migraine and throwing up. Lol!

He works in a kitchen, someone either didn’t wash their hands before cooking our meals or they were cooking with outdated ingredients.

Anyway, won’t be going back there again.

The food was as good as I remember! Our server Rachel was amazing! Friendly and fast! Can't wait to go again.

I love this place. Great atmosphere, the food is always decent, the service is friendly. There is typically always a place to sit. Prices are reasonable, and the food is hot upon arrival at the table.

Great deal on a burger & domestic beer on Saturday's $13.50. Great service, our waiter was fast and had a good sense of humor.

What a time I had at the Local Public House. At first glance, you will notice the beautiful interior and warm atmosphere. The service was good, although the servers were hesitant to seat my party of 20. Nonetheless, they were able to accommodate us and served our food at a fast pace. One complaint, however, is that my piña coloda was not blended - rather, it was simply a pina coloda in a glass of ice. My steak was good, it was medium rare (just as I had asked) and came with a solid portion of fries. The side of broccoli was overcooked, but that’s okay. All in all, this is a great place to come for a night out with friends. The food is fair priced and the cocktails are yummy (just don’t get the piña coloda) - only $6 for 1 ounce cocktails! Definitely give the Local Public House a visit if you’re in town.

Went to another restaurant that turned out to be way expensive! I found this place an sooo glad I did! Great food, price and server smelled great! Lol. Definitely go for the food and you might get the same server!

This was my first visit here. We stopped in with some family and was greeted quickly and with a smile. Our meals came out pretty quickly too.

It was great night with all my pals especially with my two best mates getting their drink on but hey, it was all grand fun!

My wife an I have eaten at this establishment every time we are in Bridgewater. The food has always been excellent and the service is unsurpassed at any place here in the city. A young woman by the name of Brandi served us (we ate on the 2nd level where we were surrounded by books in glass cases on the wall). Besides the view and the service, their menu has great-tasting seafood chowder with a choice of sides.

Closer to then they first opened I wasn't impressed. However, for the last 5 years when I finally tried Local house again I did a complete 180 on that feeling.
I've tried almost all the menu items before covid and was impressed with everything. Used to go for wings all the time, but the burger or fish and chips are one of my favs.
Also love the nachos and poutine. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is also nice.
I would rank local public house in the top 3 places in town for me personality and I can be a picky critic as I love cooking.

We had a wonderful server, Lisa is very pleasant. It was our food that wasn't up to par, it was sub par. My spouse had two piece fish and chips with coleslaw. The fish was far from fresh and was not flaky at all. When you cut down through with your fork, it was mushy. The fish was served on top of a tiny bed of fries, that barely covered the plate. The coleslaw was very dry and not a creamy coleslaw at all. My burger was served on a stale bun, (because it cracked and broke in two), was not cooked evenly at all. One side was well done nicely, but the other side was very pink. We ate our food and didn't complain as we were with two other couples. We will never be back.

Excellent service and the best Reuben sandwich I've enjoyed in years!

The portions are large.suitable for sharing. The prices are reasonable. And, it is a clean, bright pub.
