Come there to try a traditional "fish 'n chips" - and we're delighted. Tasty and huge portions, so we ordered just one dish for us.

Stopped in for drinks. Staff are so friendly, atmosphere clean and cozy pub style. Party Marty was performing with amazing tunes. Customers singing, clapping, and having a great time. So full of life! Can't wait to return to Halifax will definitely stop in again. Thank you all for a very memorable evening Especially the 5 young men sitting at the next table having the time of their life. Definitely a happening spot no matter the age.

A place with an old-fashioned look that expresses the city of a port. It's clean, but I'm just going to check the performance time carefully.

There's professional service and a good menu at this place. The decor is great and contributes to a nice atmosphere. The food is tasty and there is something for everyone to try.

Stopped in before a Moosehead game which let us prime up the liquor train and had some awesome appetizers!

Old style pub. Food was well cook and reasonably-priced. The staff was friendly. A convenient place to go when downtown.

Normally a fun spot for live music and drinks. However the last time I was there, there was a sign saying the weekly specials. On the sign it said Saturday: $5 cocktails $5 shooters. That’s it. No * by anything. No fine print. Nothing within view said it was specific shots or cocktails and our server did not let us know. I brought this up with someone and nothing was really handled well. I was told they were agreeing with me not wanting to pay for someone else’s mistake, yet nothing was done to change anything. So if you go just make sure you ask for clarification on everything on the menu so you don’t pay triple what you planned…

Had a great time with Party Marty! Came from Edmonton Alberta and made new friends all night it seemed. Two levels of fun pub atmosphere.

My partner and I wanted to get out for a night this Monday. Thinking of all the places we could go in downtown Halifax, we decided upon Maxwell's Plum. It was a disappointing visit, to say the least. At a total of $80 before tip, my partner and I were left feeling less than enthusiastic about paying our bill. Two beers, two cocktails, and two appetizers that seemed as if they had been purchased in a frozen grocery aisle. My partner was given a cracked glass to drink from, and on my trip to the upstairs restroom, there was no soap or paper towel to be found.
I've enjoyed nights at Maxwell's before and after the recent ownership change, and have had good experiences, but this visit will have us reconsidering a return anytime soon.

Great place to relax and take some drinks, food is good with fair prices. The live music is great and not too loud.

Service was good. Food selection was very basic and food itself was mediocre at best. It was far too loud to hear their live music.

Poor service for very poor prices. Not worth it AT ALL. Waited over an hour to get our food order taken and over half an hour to get one drink it’s ridiculous

I had a great experience here, good prices and quick service, however thought it may have been a one off situation, me and my friend both ended up sick the night after eating here. I am still giving a 4 star review because the service was great the night of visiting and our experience of the restaurant itself was great.
