Great spot for a weekday family dinner. Menu for children. Kids petted a few dogs on the dog friendly patio on the way inside to eat. Staff super friendly. Thank you for a great meal experience.

Went with a large group. The appetizers, drinks, and meal were so good! Too full for dessert, but they looked very yummy as well. Nice spot with a good atmosphere.

Great food, amazing service. Food was made timely. Hot the BBQ bacon burger. Burger wasn't overcooked, still juicy, made with care. Onion rings were made perfectly. Great sandwiches too. Highly recommend.

Good food and lots of it. I had the mushroom and smoked Gouda burger and 3 of shared crispy potato skins. Service was pleasant and attentive without being annoying

Chipotle chicken sandwich was amazing. Fish and chips was great, the fish was fresh and batter was crisp, not at all greasy. We ordered two kids meals, mac and cheese and chicken caesar. Both were a good size for a kids portion and very tasty. They were quite busy and we only waited about 15-20 minutes for our food, and our server was very attentive. Will definitely be back!

We happened upon The Nook and Cranny after another place that was recommended turned out to be closed on Sundays. We were happy we did. We sat outside and enjoyed some Buffalo chicken wings, and a delicious chowder with mussels, salmon, shrimp, clams, celery, onions and other spices. We both enjoyed our own flight of four
5-ounce beers. I recommend the Salty Dog Blueberry Wheat (with blueberries in the bottomed the glass), assuming it’s in season as it was for us. Our server was charming and gave us some good touring recommendations as an added bonus.

The Nook and Cranny is a local favorite of mine. It's got a casual, comfortable vibe. Pick anything off the menu and it'll be delicious. Ample indoor and outdoor seating is available, outdoor is beautiful when the weather is nice. Fully licensed, with some great mixed drinks available. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

Service was good. The salmon was bland and the risotto wasn't cooked properly. I'm sure other items on the menu are very good. I would like to go back and try more

Great hand cut fries and tasty blackened fish tacos, local beer. Very friendly and attentive waitress.
Nice to finally have good weather to sit out on patio; however, our experience was ruined by the young couple who sat next to us smelling so highly of perfume on her and something like Axe aftershave on him. We could "taste" it whenever the waitress went by wafting the air around the tables.
Anyhow this is not the fault of the restaurant, though it certainly ruined our nice lunch. Couldn't wait to leave, rushing through eating, to be able to breath fresh air again!

We has the scallop and shrimp penne with a bottle of Grand Pré Riesling on the patio. Good choices indeed. Excellent service!

Amazing place in Truro. We took a detour on the way to Cape Breton and it did not disappoint! Food was good, service was good and drinks were great as well!

Everything we had here was absolutely delicious and such great service! Very cute little spot and they also have a beautiful patio to sit on!

Great spot in Truro, especially on an evening out on the patio. My only complaint was on our second visit they were out of about half their beer selection. That was disappointing. Food was food and staff were friendly.

Great sandwich and a cold glass of their in house cider. Pet friendly deck and excellent service. Be sure to hit this one.

The staff were great! Greeted me as soon as I walked through the door. They also had Bubly! The mussels were delicious and the steak was amazing. Definitely recommend a stop by if your in Truro.

Been there three times now, and can honestly say this place is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Their patio is great - very spacious, but if you don't like bees/wasps then you might want to eat inside. Service is always friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Food is great, well presented and reasonably priced! Everything I've tried has been delicious, the only exception being their calamari, which was overcooked (still tasted good though). Nice selection of seasonal beers/ciders on tap from a variety of local breweries. Definitely a great place for lunch or dinner.

The food was delicious. However the service was atrocious. It was not very busy. We were seated and left for 15 minutes until someone came with menus. (After I tracked her down for them) When the food came, we really enjoyed the meal. However nobody came back to see how it was, no water refills…nothing. And again it was not busy. 3 of the girls were just talking to each other. We were interested in getting cheesecake, but nobody came back to ask us if we wanted desert. When we were finished I had to go ask one of them for the bill. She gave the bill, and said she’d come back with the machine for debit. Again we waited and waited. When she came back I asked what time they closed tonight (Friday) and she replied “i dunno”
The cranberry chicken was fantastic but the painful service would make us never to return again.

We stopped in for lunch on our way home from Pugwash. We were seated on the patio, after 20 mins I had to go inside to ask for menus. The waitress came a few minutes later with the menus. In total we were there for 1 hour and 45 minutes. The food was okay, no one asked us how it was or cane to check on us. I ordered a veggie salad and chicken (gluten free) There waa a crouton in the salad. Very disappointed as other customers came in adter us and left before us.

Small parking lot next door and parking on one way street. Good service. What we ordered was excellent on the outdoor patio.

Food was good, nothing outstanding. Service was quite slow. It was nearly half an hour after I got sat that I got a drink and that was after my meal came out. I heard others around me talking about how things were taking a long time. Will come back to try something again soon.

Update. Went back a few times now. The service is much faster, the food has been phenomenal and the service has been stellar each time.

Modern pub style restaurant. Craft beer available. Very nice outdoor patio area. Food was delicious! Large portions, lots of flavor!

Absolutely terrible customer service! Called to to confirm they could accommodate food restrictions due to allergies, was forgotten on phone for 20 minutes. Called back after having to hang up to get another person on the phone, said they could but failed to after I ordered. Also did nothing to make the situation better other than not charge me for my order that they messed up to begin with.

Great local pub in Truro. I had first visited here for a visit back to Nova Scotia after several years of being away. I had the best fish and chips I ever had in a long time. Always a good selection of local beers on tap. I suggest going when there is live music. But that's just my preference.

Awesome food and great live music. The waitresses were full of energy and really brought a lot of life to the place. I'll be going back for sure!

We had a party of four at lunch time on a busy Sunday. The service was friendly and fast. We had eggs Benny, fishcake Benny, spinach salad and steak and I had a hamburger with fries. All exceptionally good and fresh at reasonable price. We will definitely be back!

Food and service was great. Good sized serving. Only thing that annoyed me was paying a dollar for a wee container of mayo.

If we had better seating and faster service our experience may have been a 4-star. We were there for date-night and being positioned awkwardly near the door gave no sense of ambiance. The food was decent and the servers were nice.

The Nook is a great establishment, the phone is excellent! The staff are wonderful, awesome service everytime. Salt Dog Brewery on sight makes for refreshing and always fresh tasting beer! I recommend this place if you are here in Truro or just visiting! Great live entertainment 3 days a week too!

Today we tried their burger for Truro's Burger Week.

The Queso Stacker.

Two smashed patties topped with a zesty queso (cheese) sauce, crunchy iceberg lettuce, crispy fried onions, tied together with a sweet and slightly spicy pepper jam, and snuggled between a freshly toasted bun.

It was DELICIOUS, would hope they may bring it back for a special week throughout the year that's not burger week. ‍️

Excellent food and the staff was amazing. I'm glad we walked by looking for a place to eat lunch it was very inviting from the outside. I was right!

We last ate here during a weekday (not weekend), restuarant was not busy, took forever for food to arrive and when it did, my donair was ice cold

Location is great, food is pretty decent. Waitress was awful. Me and a friend went in looking to have a drink and food and when she asked me for ID I hadn't realized my ID was expired by a month (I had no idea). Since it was expired she couldn't serve me a drink which was fine. Upon our departure an hour later, there was an officer following us along the highway and pulled us over. He stated that someone reported I was driving without a valid license. The waitress was only one who looked at my ID and based on my name/plate she must've called the officer when I left. Completely embarrassed and shocked I was giver a $300 ticket all because your server Hannah called the officer on me.didn't know doing this was in your line of work. For someone who works in hospitality I will never support this company ever again.

Supper and live music. Great date night. The food is creatively different with some good old standby options. Every dish I've tried has been fantastic. They do interesting things with local specialties like blueberries and a local bakery.
Hubby and I have nut and egg allergies. I was pleasantly surprised to find dessert options we could have.cheesecake and brownies. We will be back!
