Cozy pub! Went for breakfast, and got the steak and eggs. Tasty and the service was great too.

Server Jordan was absolutely incredible!

We will return because of how awesome he was

The most delicious Fish & chip's i've ever had, home made tar tar, spectacular shepherds pie, lovely staff and atmosphere, ample seating with a large patio

I'm an African student who wanted to mark the end of summer with 2 african friends. We sat at the patio and every waitress/ waiter who came around completely ignored our table. We called out, and even the rest of the guests were unsettled by the lack of service to our table. I rarely leave comments but that particular encounter was very concerning. This matter needs to be addressed

We had a blast at this pub. Live music and a great Irish vibe. The server was amazing but she was obviously overwhelmed. The shrimp in a bucket was the best we have ever had.

So.went to both the Sydney and Halifax locations and service was excellent and very friendly at both. Music was outstanding (Kitchenfest featuring Beaton sisters in Sydney and Tristan Legg in Halifax) and food was quite good pub fare. The only request would be to have the Sydney stage within eyeshot of the bar. Otherwise great places for drinks, talking to bartenders, pub fare and world class live music.

Disappointing the difference between the restaurant in Sydney and the one in PEI. Excellent food and service in PEI. In Sydney, dirty tables, very slow service, burnt food, tasteless, horrible compared to PEI.

Went there couple times the team needs to work together I see alot of people struggling in the job heart breaking but the service is amazing amazing food

The serving staff are so unpleasant! Sitting here and seeing three other tables wait and wait with no food. 7 wing pieces shouldn’t cost $18. If you want over priced small portion and very rude staff, this is your spot!

The steak n steak was half good! One steak was cooked correctly the other was over cooked and dried out. The chicken strips and fries for the little one was hard and salty.

I like having a meal with conversations going on, but trivia, loudly was a bit distracting. Food and service was good.

It was Good. It would have been great if they would Serve Food Till the time they are open.

This place is grossly understaffed. One bartender, one waitress, and likely one chef covering a substantial restaurant. Waiting an hour for an appetiser is not acceptable. It’s false economy to slim-down staffing at the expense of customer service/efficiency. Please take note or you will lose a ton of loyal customers.

I'm here on business and decided to stop by with some co-workers for a beer and some food. I had the corned beef sandwich with real whole grain mustard on a pretzel bun. The food was fantastic and there was a great selection of beer on tap. I will definitely be back here in the future!

Great place, we were visiting from out West and we stopped in. Food was very good, service was excellent. We greatly enjoyed the music of Andrew Doyle great way to end a long day of traveling. Well done Old Triangle Irish Alehouse!

Our group spent the weekend in Sydney, and we had two dinners and a lunch here. We also spent the evening Friday and Saturday nights. Everyone really enjoyed their food, and the second day two more people ordered the Ancient Mariner because it was so good. The live entertainment was great, and everyone had a great time each evening. A good selection of craft beers, and the service was great, especially Eli. They were also very accommodating for our friend who is gluten free and vegetarian.

Nice atmosphere, great server. Food was well prepared. Recipes were very tasty. Lamb shank was superb. Shepherds pie a tad salty, but yummy. Mediterranean board was amply satisfying, and seafood chowder checked all the boxes. Well done.

Tolle Lage - leckeres Essen. Auch auf meine Sonderwünsche wurde toll reagiert. Würde sofort wiedee Spaghetti mit Lobster und Venusmuscheln hier essen!

Sorry to tell the truth.but, it took close to an hour to serve our food and then 4 of the 6 meals were wrong. Two steaks were cooked wrong, the boneless chicken bites were served as wings, then when we got the proper chicken bites, one order had the wrong sauce on them. Then 35 minutes later, I recieved the 3rd chicken bites order after being asked if I'd like to have them boxed to take home? Oh yes, I didn't mention that the 3 surf n turf dinners were cold. Great atmosphere, music, and gathering place, if only the staff would step up there service!

The food is almost always excellent and plentiful. Personally although the staff is generally nice I do feel that if they were just a bit more upbeat it would be great.

Live music is a bit too loud but that's true most places with live music these days. Service was great and food was tasty!

I love going to the old triangle! The food is wonderful! The atmosphere is so original for Cape Breton. It is a definite need to visit place in Sydney. They typically have live music which is always amazing! Some time people even get up to dance! Drinks are always spot on too!

Slow service. Tried twice to eat there. Barely got noticed. Arrived at 6pm for Lobster night and told at 6: 15 they were sold out. Really?

Food was fantastic. Fish and chips were fresh and delicious but the service was really slow. It was quite busy this Friday evebing. We ordered at 6: 15 pm and didn't get our food until 7: 05. Our bills didn't get squared up until 9 pm.

Food was great. The group had haddock, Shepard's Pie, and flatbread. All was excellent. Really enjoyed the patio. Great selection of beer.

Food. The fish in the fish and chips was barely warm. It was as if the fish had been cooked then frozen. Then it was battered and deep fried. As a result the fish itself was cooked but lukewarm and and rather wet (as if thawed). However, the music was great!

Beaucoup de choix au menu. Très belle vue de la terrasse. Ambiance + bonne bouffe = excellent choix pour un souper entre amis

1 star just because we know our server at least was nice. Came in with my girlfriend and her parents. Keep in mind we both work in the industry. We got seated and were told the kitchen was an hour behind so at least we had that warning. We ordered the bucket of shrimp to start right away in hopes that 10 shrimp wouldn’t take a full hour. It took 70 minutes. Then our mains came out 10 minutes after. My girlfriends Caesar wrap came out with bacon after she said she was vegetarian and asked to sub the chicken in the wrap for mushrooms. They forgot the side to my salad. The rest of our food was dry and looked like it sat under the heater forever. I don’t mind waiting a bit for food, more than an hour is pushing it for sure. But at least if it’s gonna take that long, make sure it’s fresh and comes out right. And if it doesn’t, at the very least take the pop off and definitely don’t charge for 1 refill!

Great food, wonderful atmosphere. Love the Irish music and dark wood decor! Service was slow but we weren't in a hurry. Had the surf n' turf and it was delicious and well cooked.

Stopped on for a bowl of Irish stew and it was delish! Seeing and most importantly smelling other dishes going by has made the decision of going back! Fun east coast music playing that the entire crowd was into. A must place to go while in Sydney

A wonderful place, with a lovely view over the water.
Staff were warm and welcoming, and super helpful.
Food was superb, I had the Mac and cheese with added lobster, and my wife had the seafood chowder. We were both impressed with what we ordered.
The pub was well looked after and clean, with plenty of character features.
Will come again if we find ourselves in Nova Scotia again. 10/10.
