The Old Triangle Irish Alehouse

Was going to post an amazing photo of the sweatiest, most creamy looking Guinness ever but I drank it before that could happen.
Ordered a simple brunch not on the menu and it was great.
Good to be back. Cannot wait for a couple of pints and some jigs and reels on a regular Monday.

Would like to comment on the food but just sat for 15 minute had the two wait staff walk by half a dozen time no service left and went to Dirty Nellie's had a drink in 5 minutes.

Went in for some drinks with friends. Had a good selection. Ordered Mussles and Bruschetta which were great. The goat cheese was really good in the bruschetta. There was also live music which was great!

Was disappointed in the food and service

Delicious food and awesome service. I had the spaghetti and it was a nice light dish without being overloaded. I love the Irish atmosphere and the lady serving us did an excellent job. My buddy had steak and mushrooms. The steak came out wrapped in a pastry. It looked good but I didn't try it. He said it was good as he ate the whole thing!

Any place that serves tea late is a great place, especially if you're a designated driver. Class place! Recommended.

Below average super basic pub food. I ordered a lamb burger and it was an overcooked dry beef patty in there, accompanied by soggy fries. I usually have low expectations from pubs when it comes to food and these folks were still able to disappoint me.

An impressive list of whiskeys and scotch available on a well presented book with reasonable prices, unfortunately flights are not updated and you’d have to rely on the QR code menu. Stopped in on a Sunday evening: Live music is a great touch. Decor needs updating and appears to be a mash up of different furnishings old and new.

Visiting from out of province for lunch and had the curry chicken and chips. It was served hot and delicious, amazing really. Also had Olands Export on tap which is a necessity when visiting Nova Scotia. Lots of historical items on display. Overall, good food, nice beer and good service

Atmosphere was amazing with live music playing. Dinner and dessert was great, the ginger cake was to die for.

Decent bar, my place to go every other week, good drinks and food is great also portion size is decent for what you pay for! Service is usually good, except the last time we had to chase our server for order and bar was moderately busy, they also have live music band which is a plus! Do recommend this place

Atmosphere was fantastic! The live music was lively and fun for all ages! The drinks were great! They took vaccine mandates seriously and checked everyone at the door which gives you a sense of ease in our new norm!

The bar tender/ waitress we had was amazing both attentive and made a great drink even while constantly mixing and pouring for the other waiters. The chowder was so good and seasoned well with plenty of seafood, lamb burger was very tasty and a nice change from a regular burger. My wife also thoroughly enjoyed the turkey dinner on special this evening! A fantastic old Fashioned cocktail, wonderful Manhattan, beautiful irish coffee and a good spanish coffee! Cant wait to come back!

Great atmosphere, great food and great beer served by engaged waiter. Would make sure to return anytime in Halifax.

We enjoyed flights at The Old Triangle. Fun to choose from a good selection of local and British drafts.

Watch out if you chose to eat here! A while back, Waitress tried to steal my phone. Had to track it on my laptop, make a scene & call the cops before it "miraculously" appeared in the downstairs women's bathroom. Manager got "aggressive" and asked me if "we good" after I got it back. Reached out to management to let them know what was going on at their restaurant but they are obviously not concerned about staff stealing from customers The fishcakes are alright.

They have the best poutine! Always hits the spot and more! Their fish and chips is another favorite.

Waiters are always happy to serve. Place is always packed. My favorite pub in all of HRM!

Disappointed on how many people they crowded inside when there was plenty off room outside. Food was good but band started very late.

Good food quick service. We had the bartender serving us he was able to make sure we were good and keep the drinks going out for the servers.

If you're looking for decent pub food and a pint it's a pretty good spot. They have steak & kidney pie, which puts it high on my Dad's favourite restaurants list - he goes every time he's in Halifax. Service is decent and beer selection is very good. In short, not the place to go for an exciting meal, but a solid establishment.

Super friendly and attentive staff. Food was delicious. Will for sure be back again. Outdoor seating is very nicely done. Great atmosphere.

Had a few drinks and a plate of sweet fries to finish off our night out. The pub was kept quite clean. Our server Spence was funny, witty, friendly and quick given how busy it was. The food was hot, and the drinks were okay. The band, or artists, "Tristan Legg" were definitely the low light of the night. They singled out our table unceremoniously in an attempt to be humorous however it fell flat. Wouldn't come see them again, definitely ruined my night, and my friends night. However, beyond the live music, our night was great, and I will for sure be returning to the Old Triangle for a pint in the future.

I didn't like the steak and kidney pie. The kidneys were so tough I couldn't eat them, the steak was tough too. I didn't like the blueberry salad dressing. I will not be back in a hurry.

I've always liked this place, been going there for years.

Food is good atmosphere is great, fair pricing given the quality and the best price on a real pint of Guinness in the city. Great for an in and out lunch too, you can very easily be in and out in about an hour depending on time of day and what you have.

We were sat in the patio and the atmosphere was enjoyable. I had the fish and chips, and it was one of the best in my life! The food was juat incredible! Service was very good too, the only reason I took one star off is because the food took a bit too long to be prepared. However, it was all worth it because it was delicious!

The boss and his buddy's were loud and swearing during the whole meal. Meal was excellent

A fun evening out with friends at The d Triangle. I tried their BBQ Chicken Pizza and they let me modify it a bit. Tasty!

Amazing staff, dog friendly, great food, and reliable. I’m not sure what more you could ask for. The old triangle is everything you could hope for.

Not a welcoming experience at this place. Went to this restaurant because it had a patio however we were seated in an uncomfortably small space wedge in the door. The other issue we had was that the service was very slow. It took an hour for nachos? As well, the waitress never came back to our table to check on us, we were supposed to order mains as well but the nachos took way too long that we didn’t. I gave it two stars because the nachos were good besides the service.

Absolutely amazing, I'm from Yarmouth but had to visit the city for surgery. I tried the fish and chips, it was so goood! Best fish I have ever eaten in my life. Hunny had the liver and onions and he said the same about that, best he has ever eaten!

Definitely a must try, can't wait to get back down to eat there again:)

Had a great meal and experience! The live music in the evenings 7 days a week is a huge plus and the selection of taps is larger than most pubs around. The new smaller menu is excellent, so much easier to read and choose than the previous long menu. The service was extremely quick and friendly. I had the Omagh Town Club Sandwhich with Fries and it was absolutely delicious, would reccomend!

Great food and spot to have a meal and or drinks. Nice to be back as it's been a while. I had a Haystack and it was excellent

We went on Sunday evening, there was live music on. It was fantastic. It certainly didn't feel like a COVID restricted place; the atmosphere was great and it was busy. The servers were however very strict about mask wearing while people weren't at their tables, which was good to see. The service was amazing. We can't wait to head back into enjoy live music and great beer.

One of the busiest places in downtown Halifax which serves good food, alcohol and not to mention their swift service.

Nice location. Fish and chips I had was ok but not great. Calamari was pretty good. Good drink selection.

Lucky enough to get an outside patio table. The spaghettini was delicious as always. The staff are very friendly. The service was great. There was a waiter that told us a joke, he never lost his sense of humor in this sweltering heat.

Best staff there is in town! They have a wide selection of beer and really great food (I'm serious).

Food is excellent. Been driving around the maritimes and ate so much seafood that I opted for chicken this time around. Portions are huge. Servers are fantastic. My bf got the seasonal lobster/scallop crepe and that was really good.

If I could give them 0 stars I would! They really need to work on customer service. They were great last time I went but now I'm never going back.

Didn't accept government licensed ID, since it's not a driver's license or a passport? Not everyone drives or carry their passport on them?

The Acadian Gumbo was really, really good, and my girlfriend's Fish&Chips was fresh and amazing! Great selection of beers and Irish Whiskeys. Great service!

They should remove the lobster in their menu if they dont sell it.i came last night just to have some lobsters.the waiter told me that they did not sell lobster here, then he told me to go to the restaurant on the other side of street to buy it.and he just looked at us like " freak", no smile at all.

Enjoyed the food. The "steak and steak" with the rice pilaf is very good. The beer is cold and the musical entertainment good.

Popular with locals and tourists however I find the menu and food quality is consistently superior at Durty Nellys on the next corner (both Irish pubs). DN is also a more interesting space inside.

Nice atmosphere, annoying that there were NO prices on the drink menu so my $12 cocktail was a bit of a surprise. A bit ridiculous that the virgin cocktails were $10 considering the lack of alcohol. We didn't order food.

This is everything you look for at a Irish Pub! Excellent service and advices on scotch and whiskey. Good beer and food! A must go to when in Halifax!

Service and food were very good. The Band was amazing. It reminded me of pubs we've been to in Ireland.

The Old Triangle is one of my favorites. Great for live music, delicious food and great service. We always eat here when we are in town! This time we had our wedding reception there. The staff was so friendly and provided excellent service. We had a private room which was perfect for the evening. It couldn't have gone any better! If you want a good ol maritime pub (mixed with a little Irish) check this place out!

Would highly recommend not sitting on the front patio, (Bedford row side). My table and 1 other table were on the front patio, service was very limited and server seemed to forget about us. Our food came out 20 minutes after the other table, even though our order was taken first. Our food was dropped off by a runner or another server and our main server didn’t return until We had completely finished eating. In my opinion, service is KEY and it lacked severely. I understand things get busy, but this was at 730 at night, and I expect my sever to come more than to take our order and drop off a bill after we’ve been sitting completely finished our meal. Likely won’t return.

Tell Darlene hi! The server (Darlene!) was really friendly and helpful. The food was everything we expected from Nachos and Wings. The Nachos were particularly well presented with the right mix of spice and cheese so we could actually pick up the nachos and get them into our mouths. Of course I had a Guinness, but then tried a local dark beer and found it far too hoppy (and I like hops in most beers). The wings were meaty and succulent, just what I would expect. Thank you!

Good luck getting a seat, but this is a must go for a traditional pub with east coast music. All ages were singing and dancing.

Multi tiered wooden pub near the water. Getting a little pricier as the years go by but still a fun spot for a beer. Popular with an older crowd. Great club sandwiches

One of my favorite places in Halifax.whether stopping in for a quick drink, sitting back and enjoying the live music, or settling in for a full meal I always walk out the door feeling that my life is better than when I came in.

Great "Irish Nachos". Atmosphere was awesome. Live music and good drink. They have a whole selection of Flights of Celtic whiskeys.

We had a wonderful service here! They have live music here at 8pm on Wednesdays. Food was good and not overly pricey.
