The Trail Shop

I ordered a tent through this company and paid top shipping dollar to have it shipped priority. It was only coming from NB. One day delivery it said on the website. It came 3 days later. I missed my trip because I had no tent. I raised this issue with the manager in NB hoping to at least get the money back I spent for next day shipping but I was basically told to pound sand. She was incredibly rude and condescending, and completely blew me off. The staff at both of these locations are about as helpful as sack of soft potatoes. I tried supporting local, but sorry guys, you kinda suck at what you should be good at. REI and Atmosphere have been amazing to deal with so far. Maybe take some notes?

Wonderful place, they have a wide variety of brands that focus on outdoors. It is truly a heaven for any outdoor enthusiast. A must come!

Excellent shop! They have great top quality products, prices are good and more importantly they are very helpful and courteous, they don’t try to upsell, overall just great staff and great stuff in a store that has a local feel.

I like the Trail Shop and it has always been a neighbourhood fixture for me. However customer service needs attention. Last week I was there looking at hiking boots. No one came to serve me. I consciously picked up and examined every boot example on display even brands I did not want just to see if someone would come to help. No one did. So after approximately 10 minutes, I went and bought a small item that I wanted and left. I will have to buy my boots elsewhere.

Was it busy? No. There were only three customers counting my friend (who while browsing also had no staff interaction) and myself. There were at least three staff. All three staff had passed me at some point while I was standing by the hiking boots. One staff person had gone to help the third customer but the other two stayed at the counter chatting. Of all the sections in an outdoor equipment store, footwear is the one where customers need staff assistance. Staff should be more attuned to this and at least ask customers if they need help. As the customer I should not have to go and seek out staff especially when the store was not busy.

Purchased blundstones here, staff was super helpful with explaining the differences in blundstone sizing and accessories available. Great selection in-store and there website is accurate for stock.

Great selection and almost anything you will need for your outdoor adventures! Don’t forget to get your tickets for the annual Banff Film Fest they so graciously bring up Halifax for us.

Great staff with knowledge of the products they sell. They've also given me a couple of ideas for where to hike and snowshoe. Highly recommend supporting this local business.

I had an issue with the site when ordering Blundstones for my daughter. They immediately took my payment but the order didn’t go through. I messaged the store. No one replied. No one apologized for the inconvenience or error or offered any assistance to make sure I was able to get what I wanted. $260 may not be a big deal to you but it’s a huge deal to me. A little apology and help can go a long way. It was fixed but not by any of you and I spent my $260 elsewhere. Poor Customer Service. Thanks for doing absolutely nothing to help out a new Customer

Went in today for the first time, looking for Blundstones. The Trail Shop website showed they had the style and size I wanted. I was greeted by a friendly associate who was willing to help, but also willing to wait until I asked for help. I found what I was looking for quickly and asked for the correct size, she quickly retrieved them for me, helped with try on and processed payment. Her service was the best I have received in a very long time! I will be back and recommend them for sure!

The Truro store didn’t have the items in stock that I wanted, but the Halifax store did. They were able to bring those items to Truro for me the next day. Great customer service!

It is hard to give a fair rating we went into the store killing time but what I saw was good apparel for hiking camping and some swimming. The apparel was nice but expensive and probably worth every penny but not what we were looking for at that time. Side note Yeti is very expensive.
Good store for folks who live hiking and solidarity with camping even had some really awesome safety gear for a stuck in a place where you have no choice but to spend the night.
Parking was difficult but not impossible

Very knowledgeable staff. Prices are comparable to MEC. Parking is easy to find. Highly recommended as a good alternative to MEC

The old location was charming, the new one feels more like MEC, but the selection is good and the prices are still as competitive as ever, and I was super pleased to find a North Face Jacket on sale, in my size, that I couldn't even locate at all on the internet. I am a big fan again. Also, that they sell Vasques is wonderful. Thank you so much for the excellent customer service the day that I was in.

The new location feels like a big empty warehouse. All of the charm of the old spot down the street is gone. The staff were nice and helpful on the plus side
