Their donairs are just awesome give it a try and you will love it! I had was donair pizza and donair shawarma it was so juicy and delicious! Highly recommended!

3 times. Got the incorrect order. Called. Got hung up on. Then noone answered rhe phone. Messaged on social media. No reply. Been going here for 40 years. Disappointing

I regularly order pizza for a group of staff. I changed it up last time as I heard the last few times that I ordered for them that the pizza didn't taste good.
This is the exact question I got from one of them, "Where did you order the pizza from? We looked on the box and it didn't say. It was so good! ". I was more than happy to hear that, and will make sure to use Tony's from now on. I think they will be using Tony's for their ordering too!

I went here a while ago. The staff must've overlooked my order, but when they remembered about it they upsized my Donair. I wasn't bothered, but it was a very nice gesture. The staff were friendly and courteous.

The Donair itself was delicious. I'm really not a fan of Halifax donairs. I find they are often so poorly made and only rely on the sweet sauce for flavour. This wasn't the case for Tony's. The sweet sauce was delicious, and the Donair had so much flavour to it. This would be the only place I'd recommend going for a tasty Halifax Donair.

The shop is a bit small, and can feel crowded when busy. But sometimes that's the charm of a place like this. The restrooms were clean, the venue was well kept and tidy. My only issue was they didn't have tissue paper readily available, nothing on the tables or front desk. Maybe I could've asked, but not what I'd like to do when I have sweet sauce running through my hands and beard.

Great food, staff and location. Just make sure to ask for a napkin.

Never had a bad experience. I've even had them give me an extra slice if they didn't think it was fresh enough.

Ordered Tony’s original donair (medium), which had a lot of meat with good flavour (4/5), and the falafel plate (2/5) which was very disappointing. The falafels were fairly small despite the description of “2 large falafels” and the texture was extremely soft and crumbly, with bland flavour. They were the least authentic falafels I’ve tried, but perhaps shouldn’t be surprised given they specialize in pizza and donairs. Not many vegan/vegetarian/ gluten free options. The service was slow- we waited more than 10 minutes for our food.

We got a slice of pizza. It was called meat lovers. There’s spaces between the meat on the pizza that didn’t even have sauce on it. It was extremely dry and would not recommend it. We also had a Donair in The. Donair was absolutely fantastic.

Ate here twice in the three days we were in Halifax. Good staff, great food, and reasonable prices.

The food was descent but i don't understand why every time i order food called for delivery an hour before closing, the person answer the phone say we are closing. I dont understand why they say that. What the point open the restaurant?

I was visiting from the Westcoast and heard I needed to try the donairs in Halifax and I found this spot through some reviews! The servings are large, I definitely could have gone with the regular! I highly suggest eating here!

I use to go to the KOD on Quinpool Road for many years until I discovered that the business was sold & they changed the way they prepared the Donair. So your loss KOD - Tony's is the place to go. Please don't change the way you do things as that is why I will return. Thank you Tony's

Pizza is fine (sometimes takes long to prepare). But if you need a quick bite Tony's is convenient!

They lock the doors early for anyone named Evan. There’s also some freaky shawarma guy that goes in on Fridays and he makes me uncomfortable with how he talks about the shawarmas. The pizza is decent though

First time having a donair. It was great. Also was nice that I was able to take it across the street and sit in the beautiful commons area to enjoy it.

I have always loved tony's pizza and food in general in the past but tonight I has a completely different experience.
We placed our order via uber at 5: 36 and received our food at just about 6: 45. I can understand being busy but when calling to get an update, my partner and I felt that the person who answered the phone seemed impatient.
Once we received our order, it was just barely warm compared to in the past where it is hot to the touch, it seemed off. We opened our donair to find the plastic "prep-sheet" wrapped in the tinfoil with the food. The pizza itself was not terrible but had to be reheated. As I said, we normally prefer tony's over other places so I figured I would call to at the very least let them know that the prep sheet wasnt removed.
The man who answered the phone when I called (after contacting uber first) was defensive and denied that my food was cold and simply told me to order elsewhere and to complain to uber, he was generally rude and then hung up on me in the end.
Just looking at photos of some of other reviews, some have plastic and others dont which just seems very inconsistent. As much as I hope that this was a one time thing, I fear we will not be ordering again from tony's any time soon. Incredibely disappointed.

Whilst on a trip, myself and two others ordered from Tony's from our hotel. We ordered a New York steak pizza, one half without peppers and onions, and the other without peppers and mushrooms. The pie arrived completely wrong after a 45 minute wait, but we called and they sent the correct order in an extremely timely manner and without charge.the pizza was pretty soild.

I had my Favorite places to get a doniar in NS, well I found the new favorite place. Toss up between number 1. Shawarma is the best I've had on the east coast.

Slow and cold.waited 15 minutes for a cold slice. Guy working waited till he was out to tell the cooks he needs more. Donairs are ok but the horrible service trumps that. Seems to be worse when the younger guys are working. Guy on cash was incompetent super slow

Very bad customer service.we ordered 2 pizzas and only received 1.have been trying to get a refund but still haven’t gotten one after calling multiple times.

Decent, but maybe over-hyped as a 'must go' place at least at time of writing review. Pizza was alright. Donair might be a better thing to get.

Atmosphere was good and staff was nice

If your ever craving chicken shawarma from a place that is “famous” for their donairs, don’t. The chicken was bland and had no seasoning, and same goes with everything on it. The sauce had little to no taste, and the same goes with their own donair sauce. Their donair egg rolls were okay, but the sauce again didn’t have much taste.

Taste for food is something I believe is a personal thing so I’m not here to complain about the food. I’m here to talk about how my food doesn’t even arrive at all! So I had placed an order at around 1: 15 am and in the app it said they are using their own drivers to deliver this order. Everything’s okay till this point, estimated time was 40 mins and I waited, no calls or texts! I called the store and they told me 30 more mins! I said fine, I went down to the apartment lobby and waited for 30 more mins! No calls no show! I called them again and asked, they said it’s on it’s way! I waited for 30 more mins before losing my patience and calling them again! This time the dude called his delivery guy and asked and told me that the delivery man tried calling me, NO ONE DID! Then he asked for my number? To give it to his delivery man? So that he could send a photo? Bro I thought he already had my number since he tried calling me so many times now he needs my number to send photo texts!? After that I finally do get a photo but it wasn’t taken at my given address! I am hungry and I’m in a very bad mood going to sleep, thanks to their extraordinary customer service!

I wasted all night on these guys might as well waste a few sec writing this review. Utterly disappointed. Wouldn’t recommend any delivery from there.

Just paid 5: 75 for a dried up piece of rubbery/cardboardish slice. Old, dry, hard AND chewy. Hard combination to achieve, but they excelled tonight

Was visiting from Toronto and had read so many articles on Donair in Halifax. It definitely wasn't worth the hype.

You haven't had donair unless you've been here. Delicious and wonderfully messy bc of the sauce. It wasn't dry at all and so flavourful. Pizza was alright. Real star is the donair.

It was my first and last time to go here extremely extremely expensive. I legit paid $18.60 or more for just small size donair pizza ridiculous I didn’t know it was that expensive or els I would never go and the pizza was average.

I had the famous Halifax Donair, for my only visit here and I must say I loved it! Not dry at all like I read in a comment, sweet-sour and spicy (but not too much). And nice onion rings. Employee super nice! Definitly recommend!

Came here for take out and ordered a 9" donair pizza. They had quite a number of items on their menu so it was a little hard to decide. Service was friendly and the turn around was pretty fast. It took me 20 minutes to drive back home and finally get to eating the pizza. Surprisingly the pizza still tasted delicious, and I can only imagine what it would've been like had I eaten it right off the press. Would recommend

By far the best donair in Halifax. I come here every week for one! You will not be disappointed. Large donair, no veggies, sauce on the side. Try it you will not be disappointed. 5/5

Donairs are quite good. Slightly smaller in size than other local shops for the same price. Best pizza crust on the city!

This is NOT the Tony's I know. For over 30 years I have enjoyed their delicious donair and one-of-a-kind sweet sauce that makes this place a go-to whenever I visit Halifax. I ordered a medium donair with extra tomatoes and extra sauce with no onions. Drove from downtown to Larry Uteck Drive to enjoy my food only to be disappointed with this; a dry and tasteless piece of heartbreak. Thanks for ruining my night and wasting my expensive gas!

Just had a best donair wrap in Halifax. The seasoning was perfect, donair sauce was balance on the point not too much sweet neither sour, but perfect. The pita break was so fresh. Thanks for serving best donair in town

I've never had a job near so gross in my life I don't know if it was undercooked there was cheese only on the bottom of the pita not on top and the cheese had a really weird taste to it I don't know if it's just me but it was the grossest thing I've ever eaten and I complained about it but it is what it is I'm just letting you know please do not order is there donairs

Food is good but the donair I ordered recently was very dry and lacking a proper amount of sauce to the point i was choking. I have since stopped going here.i am not wasting my hard earned money.

This was SOO GOOD. I'm from Ottawa and we have some pretty great shawarma locations, and I was expecting the donair to be similar. This was unreal! The bread was soft and stretchy, the meat was excellently cooked, and the sauce was lovely! I was expexting something more similar to a garlic shawarma sauce and i was wrong! This sweet donairsauce paired with the savory meat very well and it was so enjoyable. Wpuld definitely go back next time in halifax!

Tony's usually is pretty decent. However, got the Chicken Sharma plate and had basically no food in it and was a mess!

Delicious food.we ordered a large tony's donair which was a mistake as it was sooo large.i don't know how they fit so much meat on it.it is a tad spicy, probably from the onions.we also got the world famous pizza which is very yummy.they are also very generous on the meat on the pizza.

A few years ago I would come into Tony's pizza and buy a slice of pizza and pop for 6 bucks and it was pretty good the source was made nice and was a fairly big slice. I walked in there again this week and this time I paid around 8 bucks and the slice was two times smaller and the source was not so well made. I hope they bring back the old one

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the alive variety was worked down to one choice: pepperoni.

But one night, they had some deluxe slices available. And the alive I got was good.

An hour and a half for delivery, and it cost me $40 for 2 large (and cold) donairs that are definitely not large

They are ignorant suckers who will hand over your food to literally whoever they see.

Ordered via Uber Eats. Half the order was missing when delivered, on the receipt attached to the bag everything was written down correctly so they received the correct order. Written at the bottom of the receipt in bold letters was 'NO TIP'; we tip after the order is delivered.

FYI they refuse to come deliver to your apartment door if you’re in a building, so if you’re quarantining and can’t leave your apartment you’re out a pizza.very frustrating.

Ordered via Uber Eats. The Uber app showed that it was delivered to a different address. I complained and the delivery was made an hour late and frozen. It was zero Celsius. They blamed Uber stating they had no access to my telephone number.horrendous customer service.

Besides the donair egg rolls not having much meat and were a bit overcooked, the donair meat was delicious and the donairs were packed well for travel. I will be back.

I've been getting Donair at Tony since 1975 I live in coldharbour but come to Halifax specifically for this. I must say I was very disappointed this time the meat taste it totally different and when I get the Donair out into the car and almost home there was no sauce on it very disappointed

This is one of my all time favorite places to go to get one of the best donairs in town. I used to stop in more frequently when I used to go to St. Pats high but its a place I often think about. Im loving the new face lift that the place did and of course the donair was awesome

Best donair pizza I’ve ever had. And I’ve tried a lot. This is now my go-to donair spot when in Halifax.

Pizza was delicious, didnt take too long and a decent price, only downside is that you cant get more or less than 12 inches for gluten free

We ordered Tony’s pizza with skip the dishes and they delivered within 15 minutes! Amazing!
And the pizza was super good!

The pizza fell short.thin crust (even though we asked for thick) and Extra Cheese meant a small sprinkling of cheese-like air.

I have tried many donair shops since my arrival in halifax from Edmonton in sept 2019. This place has the best tasting donair meat compared to other local (famous) donair shops. The meat is a bit spicy which Is why I like this place best. I had cheese and all the toppings on my donair.and of course I enjoyed the sweet sauce. Highly recommend!

I also tried a slice of pepperoni pizza. The slice was a thin crust pizza, and had a nice flavourful tomatoe sauce. Decent tasting pizza but not heavy on toppings on the slice I had. I will try a loaded topping next time because I am suspecting it will be much better based to my personal liking.

We orderd a large pizza and 10 honey garlic wings. The wings were so small it was comical. Literally one bite and there was no meat left.

Tony's Donair, was absolutely delicious. My freinds and I tried the Donair's, with cheese added to them, Donair egg rolls, and Donair poutine. The Donair sauce was delicious. If your in downtown Halifax, and a Donair lover would definitely recommend Tony's famous Donair.

Ordered a greek pizza for about 18 bucks and to my surprise got a 4 sliced handful of pizza which would not be enough even for a kid. Not to mention, it had almost no cheese and tasted like the most okayish pizza I’ve ever had. Not going back again. Feel like I’ve been cheated. Would give zero stars if I could.

I ordered a large donair from here via Skip The Dishes (although the restaurant manages its own delivery). It was ok, definitely lacking on the sauce (pay for the extra I guess). The meat was average - not what I was expecting and not really as tasty as I had hoped or have experienced at other places. I’ll give it another go, however, when it’s not 30 mins to closing.

Service is yet to be desired and not much donair sauce for a lg donair i asked for sauce on the side and they gave me a sm donair cup not worth anything.

Used the skip the dish platform to order delivery; however, instead of contacting me to let me know I was out of the delivery zone, the unanswered order sat for at least 30 minutes until I called to ask where my order was. There was no offer to still make the food and have me pick it up or an apology, just a simple 'we don't deliver there'. Not impressed.

Delivery guy was very rude, I was trying to add up the order total in my head and got the answer wrong and he was like" did you even go to school"
Called the store and they denied my complaint about the sauce. Also the weren't compassionate about the delivery guy being rude.

First time I ordered from the place the driver had to wait downstairs for precisely 3 minutes until I found and answered my phone. When he came up to our apartment he was extremely rude and disrespectful (this man being the owner himself). I has to then ask for the change which to which he then gave me half of the change due until I asked for the rest. When I asked what was wrong he said that he called 3 times. I proceeded to apologize but he just walked off with an angry expression not saying a word. Perhaps he was having a bad day but that’s just uncalled for

Usually this place is a go to for awesome food. Although last time I was there I got turned off by the lack of hygiene the employees had. Watched one of them, wearing rubber gloves, handle my change from the cash register then immediately serve a customer a slice of pizza using the same hands.not what I expect from a food services establishment.

Came from Montreal QC for Donair, I was told by family Tony's was the best and they were right. Spicy, fresh and hefty, everything you'd want and not a gyro lol there is a difference

It's easy to see why Tony's is a Halifax classic and staple for tasty donair in the area. They're open late, and serve a great set of donair and pizza in humble digs. It's primarily a take-out spot, but there is some seating available if you're looking for a quick bite. Service is pretty quick and the staff are good at getting orders out in an expeditious manner. Definitely worth visiting in Halifax!

When placing order for pickup they told that I could have garlic sauce but when we walked there they told that they can’t. Really terrible service.
