Le tapis est très sale la salle de bain les tuiles ont de la moisissure c'est la 1°fois que nous venons à Sydney et personne pour parler un peu en français. J' espère de bien dormir. Pas certaine de revenir ici pour dormir.

Didnt even last an hour in this hotel before i said forget about it and booked elsewhere. Hotel is very old, smelly and the bathroom was super outdated. Just gives you a bad feeling. Chair had a questionable stain and the curtains in our room were also stained. Wouldn’t recommend or return, no matter how low the price was

Place is a little rough, the first room I was given, after I had unpacked I discovered I couldn't get out of the room, the door would flex when you pulled the handle and jam. I was able to wedge the door open with a knife and escape, that room also stunk of cigarette smoke. Second room jammed the other way and you had to make sure you pulled the door hard to make sure it latched. Carpets were puckered in high traffic areas and a tripping hazard. I picked a suite with a kitchen in it in case I wanted to have meals in, but I found the offer a complimentary breakfast.
The strange thing is they do not let you take food back to your room. So you can cook breakfast in your room, but you can't take any of the complimentary breakfast back to your room. And last but not least was the window latches have been removed and the windows pinned closed, so there is no option for fresh air with out the noisy air conditioning. I will stop there, as it makes me think 3 stars may be too many.

The room was fine. It was what I expected for the price. But the hot breakfast in the morning was really good. They had pancakes, hashbrowns, sausages, eggs, yogurt, bagels and lots of different condiments.

The place was a big disappointment!
The floor in the room was filthy and the pool area was filthy as well. The pool was as warm as the hot tub with paint all over the pool deck…actually the entire building is well past it’s prime and needs lots of repairs.

Really disappointed. We had an altercation with a strange man and his pitbull who kept trying to get to my dog. This was near the front desk and although the man was yelling no one came to check on the situation. Hallways and room smelled of cigarette. The room itself was not very clean, the bathroom walls and door had mildew and orange-y stains. Overall it looked pretty rundown. The staff was polite but did not offer up any information such as wifi passwords, breakfast schedule, etc. This was not worth the price!

Room was filthy. Bathtub had a sharp piece of metal sticking out of it so no bath and had to be very careful in the shower. Had a room for 4 people but we had towels for 2. Even after we requested 2 more, they still only provided 2 when room was cleaned. Dirty glasses were not replaced. I made the reservation only after inquiring about a pool and suana, only to arrive to find it was all closed. I have stayed at Wyndam Travellodge's many times and this place does not measure up. The bathroom ceiling was all rust and the rooms needed to be renovated 20 years ago. I would not stay there for $69.00 a night, let alone 269.00! It is a disgrace.

Was welcomed with a large group smoking weed at the front door. Once inside the hotel smells like du Maurier king size. My room had not been cleaned so they kindly switched me rooms. Overall this hotel is terrible and would suggest staying away. One highlight was the breakfast!

I had a horrible experience with online customer care who work for travel Lodge regarding booking rooms at kings road location, she was so rude to me, terrible services.

They also refused to accept my debit card. Have used with no issues in major hotels in Halifax. Had a local drink in the lobby become confrontational with me as I was trying to get a room. Recommend all seniors to avoid this place.

It has a very home feeling and their quality at the counter it's very very personal great service that you can ask for rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfortable

Would NOT recommend! Was in a need of a quick hotel for one night, picked this one for the pool and hot tub. Got to the hotel and both were under construction. Got in the room and bathroom was dirty and tiles were broken. Bedding looked dirty on one of the beds. Definitely will not stay here again!

Place is old, run down and my room smelled musty and gross. The owners of this hotel clearly cut corners everywhere they can and yet the cost was comparable to other hotels in the area. The wifi was terrible, losing connection every 3-5 minutes and the tv channel selection was extremely minimal. The phone in the room was purely ornamental and the door to the room didn’t close unless you pulled it closed manually. The walls are extremely thin, you can hear everything going on in the hallways and you always knew when people were coming or going because all the doors creaked like they hadn’t been serviced in years. I definitely do not recommend this hotel!

There was a little mixup when we found the room we were assigned was not cleaned. They quickly assigned us a new room that was great. Our grandkids loved the pool. We all found the complimentary beeakfast to be very good.

Rooms are spacious, and clean. Located not to far from nearby restaurants and the staff are friendly and helpful with recommendations.

Very Disappointed. No proper management.
The students waiting from 11pm to mrng 10am in freezing cold.
No volunteers to control the crowd. There is no system here to follow. The worst part is no preference to the senior Canadian citizens.
One lady lost her consciousness and gone down to road. Pls do something to manage the crowd.

What can I say. Everything we needed. Large clean comfortable room. Laundry facility, plentiful breakfast with lots of choices. Friendly courteous staff. A pleasure indeed to stay here.

Great stopover. Staff were friendly. Good sized room, comfortable bed. The complementary breakfast had an assortment of items to choose from. The hot food was hot.

Rooms are stained and unkept. Our first room didn’t have a functioning shower; we thankfully were moved to one with a functioning shower, but less presentable.

The front staff are reasonable. But the kitchen staff (during breakfast) were overly loud and disruptive.

For the number of (questionably-generous) stars, this hotel is outrageously over-priced.

Don’t waste your money or your time, stay elsewhere.

The hotel is very dirty, cleanliness is not a value they hold. No staff is available to make sure that the environment for their guests is sanitary, both inside the rooms and out. When the filthiness of the hotel is brought to the attention of the staff, it is completely disregarded by all, managers included. The excuse used for the lack of cleanliness is how busy the hotel is, which is disgusting. In a hotel, the busier it gets, the dirtier it will become, as is natural, so it is even more important to work hard to ensure that cleanliness is upkept. There is no excuse for a dirty hotel. The services offered here are lacking in many different departments, and the ones that are available are more often than not "out of order". Sleeping in your vehicle in the parking lot would probably be a safer decision all around. These people do not care about their guests, and it is clear to see.

Worst experience ever! Don’t come here! We arrived around 11pm, check in took 20mins (they said it’s a new system), then there was NO elevator (room on 3rd flr, we have luggages and little baby). When we got our room, the lights were all on, bed sheets had wrinkles and was dirty with mold, I asked for another room they said all booked, offered me new sheets. I cannot let my little baby sleep in a bed with mold, I asked if we can move to another hotel, then they said another room can be ready within 5-10mins. Okay we moved to the other room which they said they just put the towels in to make it “ready”, there was fly in the bathroom, and the bathtub was not cleaned with debris in it, no hair dryer, numerous things that showed this room was not “ready”. It was midnight, we didn’t want to touch anything in that room cause all feels like dirty, but with little baby we had no choice. I asked for a refund, night shift stuff said she will talk with her manager. The second morning when I checked out I asked again, the front desk staff told me manager was off there is nothing she can do, and then gave me a general email saying I can contact the manager later (which I really don’t want to waste anytime on this whole thing). What a horrible experience!

The coffee machine was broken, the bathroom wasn't clean. Dirty face cloth and towel soap opened. Breakfast no eggs or hashbrowns would not recommend for the price you pay. Was not asked if I enjoyed my stay otherwise I would have told them all of this.

We stayed here thinking Travelodge is a reasonable chain, we were wrong, no elevator, when you check in on line and arrive, the front desks just hands you a key, took a while to get extra towels, front desk seemed shocked we wanted more then 2 towels for 3 adults, asked for change for the laundry, was told they had none and to walk down the road to the corner store to get change (note corner store close by.after a 5 minute car ride either direction.) The 2 managers on duty were more concerned about smoke breaks then customers. The shower was questionable with a huge water stain above, a spot of blood on the comforter, over all poor impression

On vacation with family of four. Service was not great, staff seemed overworked and underexperienced. Pool and hot tub were good though, and the rooms clean and spacious, so not a bad spot for a family. A bit too far up from the waterfront for the price we paid.

I liked this hotel. It does not have an elevator but the steps are an easy climb. Luggage can be hard to carry up though. It has a very good hot breakfast included. If stairs are not a problem it has lovely rooms and a nice place to stay

Room is okay where beds and tv were - bathroom was disgusting. Visible mold over the bath tub tiled surround. My mold allergies went into full gear even though we only stayed from 11pm to breakfast time. Breakfast food was okay, hot and cold options available that tasted okay. The room for breakfast was so stuffy and hot. Had to eat it outside to be able to breathe properly.

The only redeeming thing about this hotel is the staff and breakfast. Very friendly, and there was plenty of food while we were there.
I wouldn’t bother to leave a review but this place is quite bad. We were on the lower level with a nice view of the front ditch. That’s hardly worth complaining about, however there were many things to complain about.
The only thing that smelled worse than the hallways was our room. The best word I can think of is dank. The carpet was gross, and it looked like the edges of it hadn’t seen a vacuum in many months. I hated to have anything touch the floor.
The bathroom was not clean. Mold on the grout, and general dirt and stains on the tiles. The tub had no stopper, and the shower had hot water only sometimes.
The tub room door stuck, and the room door made an awful scream every time it was open.
There was a games room, which was nice but the equipment barely worked. Pool tables missing balls etc.
Doors missing their locks, or held unlocked with duct tape.
There is no excuse for this level of neglect.
I can’t believe that they add an extra security deposit at check in. As if it’s possible to make the place crappier by staying there. They promise that the $50/night will go back on my card in 5 days but I wouldn’t be surprised if they are closed very soon due to the poor state of this property.
Travelodge should pull their name from this hotel. It’s disgraceful.
Find somewhere else to stay.

Loud talk and laughter filled the hotel corridors. The staff did not remind to communicate in a low voice.

I stayed here for 7 days and it was not worth the amount I paid. I had put in a request online for extra pillows and mentioned I was coming here for my 1 year anniversary/honeymoon. I wasn't expecting to get anything extra, but I at least assumed we would have the extra pillows. Instead they put us in a room that didn't have a working phone, the shower curtain had holes in it, water from the shower ended up seeping into the floor boards so I assume there is a mold issue, the tile that held the shower curtain was broken, and they put us next to the door to the other floors that slams shut always. If you can stay here heavily discounted, do so, but never pay full price to stay here. We won't be coming back.

Pulled in late to Sydney and booked a room last minute on line. Check in was very quick and the gal working at the desk was pleasant. Our room 324 could have used a little more love and attention. There were black little hairs in the sink, a big toe nail on the rug by the bed and dark spots on the bedding and pillows. I don’t think the spots were anything but old stains but might be a good time to replace these linens. There was no tub stopper so I used a facecloth to plug the drain to have a bath. I looked up and there wasn’t a shower curtain on the rod. I let the front desk know on the way out. She said this was not normal. There was a lot of black yuck around the shower tiles. The AC/fan/heater was quite loud when it cut in. During the night we shut it off because it was keeping us awake. Check out was quick with a very kind gal working behind the desk. We were given a grab and go breakfast which was nice. Likely wouldn’t book here again.

We bought a month pass for the pool room just for the hottub.however it’s been broken 3 of the 4 weeks we had the pass.and 6 days the whole pool room was closed, No refunds though so we paid for something we couldn’t use except for 4 days out of the 30 the pass was good for

Everything was not bad except the comforter was quite thin. I asked for an extra blanket but they said they didn't have any extras. I used a few towels instead.

I called to book a room before coming and they were super friendly. I made sure to ask if the pool and other facilities were open which they assured me they were. Rented two rooms one for my colleague. Check in went smoothly until we got to our rooms where beds were unmade and rooms were still dirty which we laughed about and had front desk go and clean. Went to go visit the pool which ended up being closed along with lounge room but again no big deal. Finally wen to take a shower and it turns out this hotel has NO HOT WATER. Which I thought maybe was just due to to many people showering at once. But come to find out they haven't had hot water here in a few days yet continue to rent rooms out at $201 with taxes in. I travel for work and stay in hotels every week and have never felt the need to write a review but in this case I feel something needs to be said. When you are offering a service to certain standards and fall drastically below it someone needs to call them out.

Room was barely cleaned which never really would of bothered me until they charged me extra for the room plus a damage deposit which they kept both never sent any money back and after calling them for 3 weeks they just make up excuse after excuse. All around terrible experience would never recommend to anyone

The room was not cleaned well there was dust everywhere, garbage and candy wrappers behind the side table, the lamps were not plugged in, large stain on the chair as well as many little ones on the floor, many large spots of rust by the doors, on the bathtub, towel rack and the sprinklers are so rusted they actually have holes in them. The shower head was extremely dirty almost looked like there was mold we did not use the shower, toilet barely flushed. Fortunately the beds seemed clean, we stayed for a night due to the late hour of our check in but we left and went else where the next day.

Unfortunately not a great experience. I usually do not leave a bad review if minor item (s) but too many and no satisfaction from management. (at this point hotel could not do anything without management and management has not returned calls). Check in is 3 (personally find this late with an 11 am checkout). Finally got in, room not vacuumed and food in fridge from previous guests. Same as friends rooms next to us. (4 rooms on group booked together). Toilet did not flush, even after maintenance spent 1/2 hour in there. I finally requested a plunger myself and corrected but had to continue to do so every so many flushes. Pool area dirty, pool locker rooms disgusting. Toilets overfull and not flushing. Filthy. Hot tub not working. Pool bottom has sharp tile spots. Rooms overall not cleaned properly. Breakfast included was a bag of fruit, granola bars juice, water (fine for some i guess). In Gaming room, not many games work but they sure do take the money. Pool tables did not have cue balls. Overall, even for $ 110 per night, a pretty terrible experience. I understand some things not working but cleanliness should be a no brainer, especially since you can’t check in until later afternoon! Hopefully management returns the call.

When checking in, we waited 30mins in our car for the check-in line up to go down. When we finally walked in, still 3 people ahead of us, all 3 guests had spent roughly 15-20mins each to fix issues at check-in. When we went to check in we had issues as well, trying to over charge us, we had to show them our itinerary and the lady still wasn’t going to change it for us, we had asked to speak with this other man and he kindly fixed it up for us no problem.had I have not asked for him we would have been charged an extra $60. Beds weren’t fully made when we arrived. Carpet still dirty (hair, wrappers) from prior guests. Overall room not properly cleaned. Kids hockey teams here the same night, up all hours of the night running up and down the halls stomping (not too big of a deal because they weren’t screaming just stomping around). Very very outdated compared to the photos online. Would not recommend staying here.

Overall condition of rooms is poor, fit and finish in rooms is poor. Very aged and upgrading required. Internet is poor, connection is unreliable and speed is very slow. Phone in our room did not work, toilet did not flush properly and ran water all night light. Police were at the room down the hall from us several times and the noise in halls was terrible. Parking lot is poorly lit and we did not feel our car was safe in the parking lot.

Clean, new, 5 star level service, there is a swimming pool inside. Amenities are so thoughtful. Once we saw it, everyone cheers, jumping, happy, cheapest and best quality, you can't believe it! I will recommend it to everyone!

Friendly, accomadating staff. Clean up to date rooms. We loved it and can't wait to come back. I had my dog and the staff adored her. I highly recommend this place! I Had a bad experience at the CABOT TRAIL MOTEL in BADDECK and thats how we ended up at the Travelodge, I'm glad things worked out the way they did. The staff at Travelodge helped me turn a negative situation into a good one!

Douche brisée.malgré la covid les autres hôtels nous ont servit un déjeuner frais fait.celui ci nous ont donné des cochonneries dans un sac pour le déjeuner.

Wouldn't recommend. Not all rooms have been renovated since it's days as the days inn. Bathroom being the biggest problem with black mold, cracked and caved in tiles, and dark. Bed was comfortable but pillows were soft but after a while would compress to hard and hurt my head. Internet was good but tv wise half the channels didn't work. I believe they told me they were doing a switch for that.

Called to see if they were taking any reservations for the swimming pool. Lady at the front desk was very rude and said "were way to busy for that" in a snotty tone and hung up in my ear.

We were told when room was booked
1) could use debit visa but when we arrived they would not accept it luckily we were just there for March break with the kids and was able to dive the 20 minutes back home in the middle of a snow storm to get a “ real “ as the girl on the desk said credit card.
2) we were quoted $79.99 on the phone but was charged $ 89.99 when we arrived.
3) we were assured there would be pool access because that was the only reason we were there but was only allowed 9: 00-10: 00 pm
4) there was no shampoo or conditioner in the shower dispenser
5) the water temperature in shower was bearly warm
6) we were told breakfast came with the room but then in the morning was told the truck did not arrive so no breakfast.
7) while cleaning room to leave checked under the beds and found things that did not belong to us!

No worries of us staying there again

When I first arrived, my microwave was full of completely green moldy pizza, I brought it to their attention and it was removed. However, we came to find many more areas that had been neglected during cleaning. Food and wrappers under the beds which were definitely not from us, plastic toys under the night stand.dead bug on the bathroom floor, in January nind you! The shower faucet took the strength of a body builder to turn on. In the games room there are 5 games, 2 pool tables and an air hockey table. Everything was marked out of order with the exception of 2 games! And the "security door" located next to the pool and games room wasn't functioning as a security door! Anyone has access to the hotel through those doors! That's scary with children! Upon check out I was given a discount of $24 for my dirty room on my $242 bill! Pitiful!

It was very good till my cell phone got robbed from the swimming pool locker room. It became a very bad experience for me.

Price wasn’t too bad.

- beds were very comfy

Negatives:
- hotel is dated, especially the bathroom in the room
- our room was downstairs, which was kind of weird. We still had a nice window, so it wasn’t too bad

Lovely location. Room is nice except for the shower. It needed to be cleaned as there is grim all over the walls. A 4 storey building with no elevators. The pool area was full of kids, that were unattended. As their parents were in the gym next door. The pool and gym facilities are rented out to the locals. (way overcrowded) Kids racing up and down the halls at all hours of the night. Banging and screaming. I realize that’s the parents fault. But I just wouldn’t stay here again.

Family of 4
This establishment was just purchased. The new owners are committed to seeing changes and improvements to completion.
We had a couple issues however the manager was quick to make things right.
We were very impressed by some of the staff who were very helpful in sharing info on places to visit and sites to see.
A special thanks to James who helped us, made us feel like we were family.
Look forward to seeing you all again.
