Trident Booksellers & Cafe

A supremely cozy spot to study or work. It's a quieter cafe for sure, with lots of books to read while you're there. Modest selection of drinks and baked goods but quite yummy.

Trident's atmosphere is really what's 10/10, and worth making the trip for if you're not downtown. Also, god bless that they are open till 9pm, we desperately need some more night time coffee shops, and these hours are greatly appreciated!

An unforgettable coffee experience.
I was beckoned by the simple, yet enthusing sign that read "trident".
It's elegance whispered to me that these people must carry their sense of style into everything they do.and that was the truth. I opened the door and fell into a beautiful aromatic world of premium coffee beans, crisp pleasurable tobacco, and wise old hardwoods. It was far from the grey hustle and bustle of urban halifax! I'd finally found some reprieve! I found myself giddy and overwhelmed, sandwiched between nothing but sharply dressed academics and bookshelfs! Ahead of me was a path leading to a counter. I followed this path, and looked up to find all manner of treats galore, and a wise old man illuminated by the backdrop of a coffee bean roastery that looked like it was plucked straight out of the 19th century! He took the fragrant pipe out of his mouth and welcomed me with a simple, yet charming "you look like you've had a long day, could I interest you in a cup of joe? ".

Ever since then, trident has been my happy place. And I'm sure you'll find yourself right at home here too.

Cool, old school, library/Cafe. Atmosphere is top notch, books are available for perusing or purchasing, some baked goods are brought in for snacking purposes, and my Americano Misto was one of the best I've had in the city. Def worth a visit, and one of the quieter spots I've found to set up my laptop and just. Chill.
(Best to go earlier in morning if you want a better selection of food. Once they sell out of what they brought in, that's all she wrote)

Absolutely fantastic coffee just sad after the pandemic they put a time limit on their tables: (used to be nice to spend the afternoon there reading etc.

This vibes if this bookstore/cafe caught our attention so we had to try it for ourselves! The cafe features a good selection of drinks that you can get hot or cold and some pastries. The bookstore has a wide variety of gently used books for incredible prices! This spot is perfect to enjoy a drink while indulging in new books or your favorite classics!

Such a lovely little cafe! I've only been in a few times, but the staff are always really sweet and they know their trade. The coffee is, and the atmosphere is just so quaint and cozy.

I can't personally comment on the treats since I havent had any, but I've only heard good things.

Be wary if you need an outlet though, I think there's only one accessible outlet in the whole place.

Overall a top notch cafe!

Stopped by prior to hanging out with some friends, and glad I found this little gem. If you are reading this review you are charged (yes you, not the other person behind you) to keep this gem as bright as it is. Bloody brilliant coffee, quaint, calming, playing of jazz, coffee and add some books this is a great place for a date, relax, homework, etc. Enjoy yourself, this is what a coffee shop is about.

Such a quaint little place. One of my favourites just to hide away from the world, the smooth jazz, low sound of conversations and coffee making just take white noise relaxation to a whole new level. I love this place so much. Great food, great prices, and more than anything, great staff!

Absolutely fantastic - smallish bookstore with plenty of options, used books, and excellent coffee. This makes a great place to stop by anytime for gifts or for yourself. This is our shop around the corner like from you've got mail!

A gem of a spot. Excellent service. Great coffee/tea place with good variety of baked goods (gluten free options available). You can browse their book lined walls before grabbing a treat or sitting down at one of their cozy tables.
