Turkey Burger

Favorite place to eat! Great food, great service. Make sure you are hungry especially if having fish and chips. Huge fish fillets! Forgot to mention the pies. Yummy

Was there last night for supper and was so looking forward to a good burger and fries. While the fries were cooked perfectly the way I like them the hamburger was not so good. The bun was ice cold so the cheese did not melt and in turn the burger got cold fairly quickly so was very disappointed in my meal. The other folks I was with had fish and they found the batter extremely thin and the fries cold. The last time I was there which was a few year ago the food was amazing so this is why I came back and was very disappointed and will not be back.

The fish is delicious and portions are big!
During summer, there’s an ice cream stand outside.
If you’ve never tried soft coffee ice cream, you really should, it’s delicious!
Warning Unless you are up to super size soft ice cream, order a small. The amount they serve on a cone is insane!
3 stars for atmosphere is me being nostalgic. I went there as a kid: Music always playing, the menu covered the walls, written on paper, small chalkboards and cardboard. There were mainly booths for seating with a few tables and chairs. The ice cold soda was in glass bottles and the smoke from pipes and cigarettes floated through the air. The parking lot always seemed to be full while the inside bustled with servers serving, people eating, friendly chatter, and always, always so much laughter.

Great food. Good prices and large portions. I ordered a banana split with hard ice cream from the ice cream shop and it literally was the size of 3 banana splits combined.

Heard good things about this place. So I thought I'd give it a try.
The food was bland it has barely any taste, and the fish was very greasy.
Table was sticky, we had to use some wet serviettes to get it clean.
The best part of it was the fries.
Other than that it ain't worth the hype.

Nothing spectacular about this restaurant. I have heard a lot about it in the past, so visiting the South Shore of NS, we thought we would try it out. Again, nothing special at it whatsoever.

I was very disappointed. I had heard recently that the Clams and chips were fabulous.
We by passed several restaurants to feast on the great clams and chips.

So I grudgingly took a look at the menu.
Ahhh, A foot long hotdog! Honey had a chicken burger. The foot long may have been 7", in a regular hotdog bum. It WAS good.
I overheard the server tell an irate customer, looking for Clams and chips, should have called first.
On a day we are just out driving around, one SHOULD NOT have to call an check the menu.
Sorry Turkey Burger, that's how I feel.

Stopped in for a quick supper on Sunday. We ordered the nachos and Turkey Burger Poutine. The nachos were terrible; chips were stale and the cheese was not fully melted through. The portion size was puny and they put whole olives and cherry tomatoes on them that were just cut in half. Worst nachos ever. The Turkey Burger poutine was ok, but I expected some Turkey on it. They just added a few tiny pieces of stovetop stuffing. Maybe they only do ice cream and fish and chips well, but I would not be interested in coming back to try.

Sadly, the restaurant was closed due to staffing issues. However, the ice cream was amazing! Portion sizes are very generous! The service was exceptional! I just wish I could have had lunch there as well instead of driving to another place for food.

I was recommended to come here and try the coffee ice cream, however when I went, they were all out. We did end up having lunch here on Saturday and I had the best scallops of my life! So good! They were huge and were cooked perfectly! I recommend trying this place!

The Turkey Burgers were delicious. It was busy with only one server. The service was good and wait time was reasonable. Looking forward to returning soon.

Great food, great service. Use caution ordering anything bigger than 1 piece fish and chips. You get a large fillet!

Only went for ice cream but the service was friendly and we only ordered smalls but they were quite large servings!

We drove by this place 100 times, headed to Bridgewater for second-rate food. We decided to stop. I had the fish with clam strips.the fish was very good, and the clam strips "over the top"! YUM!
My husband & Guest had a double meat patty burger. Patties were LARGE, and juicy! They stuffed themselves and truly enjoyed every bite! Definitely a "Gut Bomb" to be proud of!

Order the clams and fish fish was ok but the clams smelled bag I didn't eat them and the waitress was very nice I told her and I didn't have to pay for my meal she said the clams was from New Brunswick

I love riding to the Turkey burger. Their food is delicious and huge portions. They have a 10% discount for bikers who ride there so it is a favourite destination for all my riding friends.

Fish and clams mashed potato. Fish beautiful and huge, great light batter, 3 inch back bone in it, glad not child eating.
Mashed potato gray in color and crumbly didn't even taste.
Guest had turkey burger, 3 turkey bones and disappointed in size was deluxe!

Me and my husband each had a 2 piece fish and chips and we basically took a whole meal home. I was one of the best fish and chips I have had. I really recommend this place.its off the beaten path but so worth it.the picture is of what we took home.sooo yummy

We had cheese burgers and one double burger, all was great, especially the milk shakes. Best food is in these little out of the way places.

Great friendly and very knowledgeable staff. We were seated right away. I ordered a hamburger.it was very tasty. Others at my table had 2 piece fish and chips.biggest haddock pieces I have seen in a long time. Both had to take some to go. And the other person had seafood chowder.minus lobster as they were out but they let us know upon ordering which was nice. Great food.definitely be back!

Came here for the fish and chip dinner. The portions at very generous and the fish was nice and crispy without being oily. One of the people in my party ordered the all-day breakfast and was pleased with the food as well.

I tried their turtle twist and wasnt impressed. Also I didnt feel good all night. I only had a little bit of it. I'm used to my vanilla ice cream being white not a yellow. And my ice cream soft not hard. I dont know maybe it was an off night lol

This is another must stop. The fish and chips were the best I've ever had.portions were ample. The service was friendly and establishment was clean. Try the Turkey Burger!

Great food and service. Loved the half and half. Scallops and Clams. No room left for their famous banana split.

I was invited to join friends for dinner here. The service was excellent, the table and surroundings were clean, the food was better than I could cook at home. Fish and chips were the best I have had since I moved to NS.

Expected excellence by the shear amount of traffic and reviews, but was disappointed. Ordered ahead for takeout and was told 30 mins, arrived after 25 mins and waited another 30+ mins for 1 hr total. Server was pleasant and apologized, they were busy bit not crazy busy. We had 1/2 clams and 1/2 scallops with fries. Clams were a good portion, and tasty but not hot and very Soggy (fryer grease old maybe?), out of the 4 scallops on the plate, they were OK but the heavy batter took away from the scallop taste, litely floured scallops are much better elsewhere. The fries portion was minimum and don't live up to the hype of portion size. Overall for 2 x 1/2 & 1/2 platters, we were in for almost $50 with tax/tip without a drink and left unimpressed and still hungry. We may give it another try incase it was an off day.

Food is great with large portions. Ice cream shop is good too. But last time we dined in my wife had an undercooked hamburger and was throwing up later that night. I think this was a fluke occurrence and will give them the benefit of the doubt.

OMG! Hand's down the best Fish, Scallops & Clams you will get Anywhere! The sizes of the orders are massive, Freddy's fish and chips, John's lunch, Camille's fish and chips, all take a back seat to the restaurant serving up the best fish and chips in Canada, The Turkey Burger! The scallops were 15 count yes I said fifteen count almost half the size of my fist! It was like trying to eat a battered baseball. Incredible! You and your girlfriend or you and your wife or you and your wife and your girlfriend could all split a one piece fish and chips and have some left! Absolutely hands down the best deal anywhere the prices are crazy! One piece fish and chips $11.95 two-piece fish and chips $14.95 and a 3-piece fish and chips, which is so big it cannot be served on one platter they need two, is only $16.95! What they call pieces of fish are whole one piece haddock fillets head to tail absolutely insane! Any other restaurant with cut that whole fillet in to at least six pieces. It blows my mind that I have lived in Nova Scotia for over 30 years and I'm just hearing about this now! If any Resident of Nova Scotia has any out-of-province visitors and wants to absolutely blow the socks off them, you have to bring them there. You will not be disappointed and they will talk about this for the rest of their life!

Great service!
Wings were fantastic, chowder was on the salty side with mostly haddock.
Steak was alittle chewy in places but overall great tasting!

Went for ice cream. Banana split could be shared between at least 4 adults it is so huge. Soft coffee ice cream was delicious as well.

Except for the fact they added mustard when I requested not to and I did not want to make my party wait another 1/2 hour for a new one all was great with our meal huge portions will return:)

This is a beautiful place to eat. You get your money's worth and you don't leave hungry. And the ice cream shop next door. You get your money's worth big ice creams. I give it a 100 plus

Excellent fish and chips. I won't go anywhere else. The clams and chips are also good. Although I haven't had those in a year or two.

Literally one of the worst meals we have ever paid money for. I had the turkey burger deluxe, which is actually a hot turkey sandwich on a hamburger bun. My wife had the lobster roll. We were told our order would be ready in 40 mins, showed up after 30 mins and our food was already cold.

The lobster roll was the low-light of the meal. It was chunks of lobster meat (gross slimy parts included) on a stale bun that was sliced paper thin on the bottom and had gone soggy while waiting, thereby making it IMPOSSIBLE to eat as a roll.

Will not be back and will not recommended. A 50 dollar lesson we will not soon forget.

Wow-e-wow-wow. I can't recommend this Joint enough. Have a Coffee Soft Serve Ice Cream. I dare ya.hahaha

The service is awesome and the good is great. Love their fish and chips meal. The fish was so tends and juicy, not over fried. The food is never cold. Wonderful place to eat.

Not what I expected. The food was OK but nothing to write home about. 2 locals were there eating and they were the entertainment.

If you go here you want to be hungry! The portions are VERY generous and delicious. You can even have a Banana Split for supper, it will fill you up! Keep it up folks!

South Shore Gem. Fish and chips were perfect but move over because the show stopper is the coffee soft serve ice cream! Make sure you come hungry! Great place!

Had the Turkey Burger with dressing and cranberry sauce! It was alot and filling. Hubby had the same but with fries. Very filling!

Haven't been there in ages but we ended up there as a team dinner. I had the Turkey Poutine and yep, very pleased with it! Everyone's food was hot and delicious around the table with many moans of "I just can't eat even one more bite". Looking forward to heading back!

Some of the best fish and chips in the province! Huge pieces of thinly battered flaky buttery fish. Yummy chowder, creamy but not to heavy. Their other items are pretty good too, though I do not care for the burgers as others do. I would also pass on the salad. But go for the fish!
We stop here everytime we are in the area. There can be a wait, but the tables turn over quite quickly. Plus they offer take out (I recommend eating in) and (surprisingly) they seem to accept reservations.
I suggest checking their hours before heading out. I believe they are closed all day Monday and Tuesday, plus they close rather early (7pm) on the days they are open (this may change seasonally, I am not sure).
There is a great little soft serve shack in the parking lot, but if you're looking for something fun order the banana split in the restaurant. Enjoy!

Wow, portions are amazing. Best fish and chips I have ever had. Locals love this place. You will be amazed by the burgers.

Awesome little restaurant, great food, good prices, HUGE portions! You will be hard pressed to leave here hungry, and even harder pressed to find friendlier staff.

Be warned though, it's a small building andbits very popular, so it fills up quickly, and you may have to wait for a table to come available, but I strongly suggest you do, you'll thank yourself afterwards.

The food was just as good and plentiful as I remember from a child. The young lady who served us was super and we had the oppurtunity to meet and semi-dine with the locally famous 'Moyle'.
Ohh ohh also.if your a fello biker 15% off the bill! Sweet deal on a great meal!

Besides the food being delicious and made from quality ingredients, the prices were extremely reasonable! A fish and chip place serving the same portions at a Halifax restaurant would have easily cost double!

The best burger I've had in a very long time. I couldn't believe how good the food was here. The portions were amazing too! I definitely did not leave hungry. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Visiting from Ontario.the portions were big and the food was amazing. The two piece fish and chips was served with two enormous pieces and the fish was very fresh.

Omg the fish! It was crispy on the outside and melted in your mouth. The food was amazing. So enjoyed the meal. The banana splits were huge. Left feeling very fat, full and happy

I had a clubhouse and no fries. They don't reduce the price if you just want the sandwich. I found this particular sandwich to be very dry. They toasted the bread and in my opinion they shoukd ask if you want it toasted. Hardly any mayo on it and the meats were not good.

After hearing all of the great reviews, we thought we'd give this place a try, yesterday, Valentines Day. EXTREMELY disappointed. Disappointed in the ambiance, disappointed in how long it took for our meal to arrive and last, but certainly not the least, we cannot eat french fries so asked if we could have a salad instead. No problem. Small garden salad for me and a small ceasar salad for my husband. I had steak fajitas and the steak was sinewy and the toppings were minimal. Bill came and low and behold if they didn't charge us an extra $2.00 a piece for the salads. Okay. 2 bucks doesn't seem much BUT they saved money by not having to give us the fries. If I'd known that I'd be charged for the salads, I'd have kept the flipping fries and taken them home for our dogs to snack on. For me. I'll never go back. I cannot fathom WHY it is so popular. Jac's on King Street is, by far, the better choice.

Do not let the name fool you. A full selection of local favourites. FISH N CHIPTS etc. Good helpings and service at local prices.
