Turkuaz Restaurant

This restaurant is considered as Halal Restaurant, but there is alcohol. My question is, do they actually know what is Halal and what is not. It doesn't make any sense to me.

To be honest, food and customer services were very good. It's my favorite restaurant, but if you request a halal, this restaurant is not for you. This is up to you.
I just told my opinion.

Such an amazing view of Bedford waterfront. Loved the food and the service. We always do take out and this is our first time going in. The food came quickly and everything was perfect.

Did a takeout for the first time. I loved everything. I ordered few things but only took a pic of Jumbo Mix Kebab Plater. If you are a big eater it is perfect for two people but can feed more I am sure. The meet was tender and perfect. The rice was nicely done. Very nice service

Here to celebrate a birthday and plan to celebrate y birthday there in December. There are so many choices on the menu that anyone can find something to satisfy them.

The food was excellent, but the customer service could have been better. I will come back again for the food.

I’m not an expert of this type of food but everything we ordered was excellent. We ordered through Skip the Dishes (who canceled the order for no apparent reason). I called the restaurant directly and spoke with a very friendly and helpful person who straightened everything out for us hence why I’m rating the service high. We had a variety of dishes all of which were fresh, flavourful, and well cooked. I’m certain a dine in experience would be great as well.

The best Mediterranean food I have ever had in Halifax. Perfect ambience and efficient staff, well attentive.

E njoyed Lamb kebab plate, with all the trimmings.kebab was moist, that's a plus for me. Baklava and rice pudding were delicious.a bit pricey but yummy

Other than being a bit cold inside, and needing MUCH more salt in the parking area (the landlord, not the restaurant's fault). It was wonderful. Will be back! Especially for the view.

Not what it used to be. Prices have increased while food portions are significantly smaller. It’s simply too expensive for what you get.

This restaurant used to be good, but there are many other better options available now.
It’s also silly to be ‘halal’ and serve alcohol at the same time.

Always go for pickup whenever go to halifax. I drove all the way 450km with the 2 years old. I ordered a family platter with just chicken and waitress didn't take my order properly. Went to pick and it was a single platter. Didn't get the salad and paid $27 with disappointment.
Offered me to allow sometime to make but my 2 years old was sleeping in the car and i had to drive back home so couldn't wait. I had to grab drive through Macdonald for rest of the family who was waiting for turkish food all day.
Very disappointed. Will never return.

I picked up take out from here for the first time, and I am blown away. Soooooooooo good! Friendly as can be at the restaurant too. Love it!

Just had the most wonderful food here in bedford! Been wanting to try this place for ages…excellent pricing very good portions and the waitress we had was extremely accommodating and knowledgeable… 10/10 will come here again

Very delicious kebabs cooked to perfection! Persians and Turks have the best kebabs in the world and I believe Turkuaz is doing a very god job in representing Turkish kebabs in Halifax. Staff are very nice and very polite. I can’t see any cons or negative points. This place is just perfect.
Don’t miss Kunefe and Tea after your meal there ;)

Amazing presentation and spectacular view of the Bedford Basin. Reasonable prices. I recommend the Chicken Shish.

One of the best restaurants in the city. Large size of dish in a great price. Taste of kebabs are awesome. The goods are flavorful and perfectly prepared. We like tea after food and they are offering free of charge. Nice location for a group gathering with a nice view of harbor. Service was friendly and attentive. I recommend Lamb Beyti Kebab.

The best must try restaurant in Halifax. Their food is so fresh and tastes authentic. They start with few pieces of bread, pickled jalapeños and some olives (complimentary). The bread was so fresh and felt like it was straight from oven. You have to try their mixed platter of appetizers where you get to try all the cold appetizers in one plate at a reasonable price. Then we order the mixed platter for four people, it was so good and the quantity is worth for price.

Their ambience next to the sea view is amazing.

To try authentic turkish/ Mediterranean food with a nice view of sunset at a reasonable price. Definitely go check it out!

I have visited this restaurant several times, the service is good, my favorite dish is the mix kebab, the food is always well seasoned and well grilled, the location is very good for dining in, with tables overlooking the Bedford Basin. Price is not cheap but not very expensive. Pre-booking required, as the restaurant gets very busy on weekends and holidays.

Food was so fresh and flavorful. The waiter was very attentive and sweet. Will definitely recommend!

Very nice place. Food portions was good and food was tasty. We ordered mix chicken and mix lamb kababs. Both were ery delicious. They serve olives and bread on the house. Service was out of this world. Perhaps one of the best customer service we had in Halifax. Definitely going back again.

Excellent customer service and atmosphere. The server was very observant and cared about every little detail. We ordered a mixed lamb grill and a mixed chicken grill. The chicken grill was better than lamb. I would say the food was okay, not exceptional; however, the service 5 stars. They also provided bread and olives on the house.

I think you need to hire a manager to run this place and stick to cooking in the kitchen, the owner is not qualified to run this place, doesn't know the first thing about hospitality or earning customer loyalty, they have no structure or organization in the place it's like a fish market. Very disrespectful, rude and with a lot of bad attitude, good food though, "terrible management"!

Food is good. Service is awful, extremely rude and disrespectful - no concept of customer service or retention. It's shame to see this location go to waste.

So I went their for iftar, service was really slow, food started to come down and not everyone had their meals together.
Food is not portioned right lots of rice very small amount of salad. Food tastes ok not the greatest.
Zero customer service from the owner and when you try to complain about anything either the waiter will leave you and don’t care even handling the situation and when you mention it to the owner he doesn’t have in his dictionary the meaning of apology.
He will always blame the customer on his faults.
First rule of customer service is customer is always right.
Now after everyone in the community know him well and we started writing his comments he is sending his friends to give him good reviews and give all other Turkish restaurants around the cot 1 star and saying that one group hates him for no reason, as if we have personal problems with him. Too bad for your business and hopefully you stay open after your attitude towards your customers.

The staff and the food were mostly friendly, but I was disappointed that my friends in two separate incidents were mistreated and humiliated as they were unable to complete their meals and were forced to leave due to unavailability of seats. I personally think the owner could’ve dealt with the whole situation differently as they were known to be very important clients of Turquaz

Food is ok, however the Kunafa is over priced since they already buy it in a bulk cheaper from golden bakery end of Bedford hwy.
Smile is for free so please wear it when you’re greeting your customers as we felt we are not welcomed.

Witnessed and was part of a few conflicts with management the few times I've been there. Each time a different conflict with a different group that ruins your dining experience. Absolutely no excuse to the apparent rudeness and unprofessional attitude towards customers. Don't think rating the food here is of any importance, as chances are, you wouldn't enjoy your dining experience there anyway.

Don’t recommend at all lack of customer service treating customers with very bad way, definitely needs to bring more kitchen helpers and waiters

Me and my wifey were just there today, we had the grilled halloumi starter and I had a lamb shish wrap and she had chicken shish and a Turkish coffee, I would recommend this place to anyone, really nice staff and really good food.

If you come to this beautiful restaurant you will see everything is perfect. Just come. Dont believe liers.

I have been going here ever since it opened! The food is amazing and the hospitality is great and the treat from the owners and employees has been outstanding! The owner or the employees would come and ask us if we like the food, obviously the answer was yes! I DO HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Best mediterranean food by far in Halifax/Bedford and its all fresh too!

Went there for lunch yesterday and it was amazing, food and service was perfect, looking at the recent reviews I don't know why they are getting so much hate from that one group of people. But I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try Turkish Cuisine for lunch they have great portions and food.

Worst service I’ve ever seen in my life! Very very rude people they know nothing about customer service or how even to run a small business! The owner is an illiterate who does not know how to talk, greet customers or even apologize for the unlimited mistakes they do in every single visit for me there! They lack professionalism to the extent that they don’t even know how to take the order they don’t pay attention to what we say & even after that they don’t apologize or try to make the situation better they keep debating that it’s the customer’s mistake! Poor guy he doesn’t know what he’s getting into after all those horrible experiences that every single person I know in Halifax went through with them! I do not know one person who went there & enjoyed his time everyone from all nationalities is complaining! At the end it is well known all over the world that “the customer is always right” this guy probably did not even finish high school & he’s just hiring his relatives who are even worse to deal with the public! Man you need to understand that you need to hire waiters who can do the job not just any of your family members who don’t have a clue about it! Cheap disgusting decoration who paints dark red on a wall & puts red chairs with it like you did not even spend a penny on changing the layout to make it look like a restaurant! If you think that because your food is good you will succeed that’s an illusion in your head & your business will fall very soon.

Food is okay although the proportions were very small. The service was slow and rude, received some cranky answers.however my love for Turkish food continues.

Amazing food and service. Charcoal grilled meat. Absolutley delicious! Ordered the mixed kebab and loved it. Definatly recommend to anyone who wants quality food and doesn't break the bank. The prices are great as well.

I love Turkuaz, it's definitely my favourite turkish restaurant in HRM. Their veggie options are amazing and I always get the veggie platter option when I go, It's a great price ($14.50) and I get to try a bit of everything. I also love the pickled peppers you get at the start. So addictive.

Their muhammuara is phenomenal (and my personal favourite) I highly recommended giving it a try at least once!

Amazing food! Amazing scene! Restaurant is very clean. I really enjoyed my experience. My plan was to dine and dash but I was too full by the time I was done to run so I paid.
