Excellent baked goods they even had a vegan cinnamon sugar croissant! Great coffee and dairy free options for the coffees.

These massive croissants are not just impressive for their girth, but they are also packing in nice flavour combos and have a lovely texture. These are not your traditional Parisian croissants, these are something unique. My friend and I ran across the Macdonald bridge to indulge in one of these bad boys.

The atmosphere is very pleasant. The coffee was good. I personally found the croissant heavy and undercooked in the middle. Too doughy.

Staff were terse & unhelpful, the coffee was so hot it was lawsuit-worthy, and the croissants were oily wads of undercooked dough - bad enough to provoke a land invasion by the French. Decor was cute though.

Croissants are great most of the time, but sometimes they end up being doughy. Lacks consistency. Their cashier/server loves wide sleeve sweaters and they are rubbing on the croissants she is serving, sometimes covered in powdered sugar as well.

The Pain au Chocolat is HUGE! Recommend to share between two people. So fresh, flaky & tasty.

The almond Croissant is great too, still quite big and full of flavor.

Friendly staff.

Like popping in to grab a bag of beans to take home, but street parking can be hard to find at times.

Visiting from out of province, popped in for an idea coffee and one of the best croissants (provolone & prosciutto). Cute lil shoppe!

Croissants were heavy, bready, completly without butter or salt! How do you make a butter croissant without butter! This used to be the best place in the city but I won’t be back. Very disappointing.

Hmm came cuz of the nice pictures but then 2pm no more food at all. Also cappuccino was super bitter. Kinda of a fail

I was told these were the best croissants in Nova Scotia. Now, I must say that the provolone prosciutto croissant was one of the best things I've ever eaten. I think I will dream about that croissant. It is a meal unto itself, the thing is enormous, and so salty! (I love salty). The chocolate ones were darn good, too. However, I wasn't over the moon about the regular croissants. They were good, but they were too crusty on the outside for my tastes. I prefer softer.

Petite perle de café et de viennoiseries. Le café est super bon et les viennoiseries un pur délice si vous passer à Dartmouth/Halifax. Ça vaut le détour. On est arrivé a 8h et ça faisait déjà la file dehors:)

A absolute must to stop by in Dartmouth for a beautiful breakfast. Their muffins are incredible! Soft and moist with a fantastic sugary crust on top. Their Mocha and latte were delicious and beautiful. Service was fantastic as well. ️

Tried 4 of the croissants, plan, chocolate, almond, and prosciutto and provolone. The inside fillings were good but the croissant itself was not. It looked like a nice croissant, crispy and flaky outside but once we bit into the plain one to try, there was no buttery and layered croissant, it simply tasted like a roll. I should have known when they handed me the bag of croissants and it was heavy.

For the high price of $4ish for a plain croissant I expected much better. Very disappointed and will not return.

A local recommended this spot for croissants but we were quite disappointed. Croissants are supposed to be light and buttery and melt in your mouth but these were heavy and dense and chewy (as others had noted). Also, the coffee tasted awful. 2 stars for super fast and friendly service but still a hard miss.

Usually love it here! But cap was a bit cold and not the best… croissant did not disappoint

We stopped by Two If By Sea Cafe early morning to grab some coffees and croissants.

The croissants were actually good and a decent portion size and the coffees hit the spot.

Croissants are tough on the outside and rubbery uncooked dough inside. The only type of coffee they have is medium roast and the self serve milk station doesn't even have stir sticks. Whoever rated this as 5 stars is a jerk. What a dismal experience. Don't eat the food, the coffee is hot though.

Recommended by a local. The prosciutto and provolone was absolutely delicious. A bit more dense than the typical authentic french style croissant but delicious nonetheless. Service was also fantastic - definitely will be back the next time I'm in Halifax

I went to college in Halifax 8 years ago and I still dream of the croissants today I went to the shop by the ferry terminal on the Halifax side (which appears to be gone now unfortunately). They were better then the ones I've had in France by FAR! I live in Toronto now and all the croissants here have been a disappointment so far.

When you want to treat a friend with something that reminds a window in Paris, order fresh croissant there and go for a coffee to the New Scotland Yard. It will make your day!

I absolutely love the croissants here and always have, I've never been disappointed in them and crave them every time I think about them. As for the coffee, I'm pretty indifferent about Anchored Coffee, it's just not my type of roast/flavour profiles, but they have a following and I think they have put together a good product for those that like it. I'm not a regular to TIBS, but I should be because I live in the area. We make a visit every few months to get some croissants but never have been inclined to come more than that because of the counter staff, frankly they are consistently difficult to deal with and have been for many years. There is an air of apathy from the staff when you arrive, and incredibly (especially for the level of product them make) an extreme lack of excitement or enjoyment about the product. If you follow their Instagram, the posts are exciting, fun and showcase their great product. There is a disconnect between they projected attitude and what is actually going on in the cafe that the owners should be addressing. Some of the other reviews talk about the place being too hipster, but when you go get a pizza upstairs or a beer next door both those business would be considered hipster and the staff is amazing and welcoming, so it really is an issue with the staff at TIBS. Will i go back, of course, but never more than every few months to get a croissant fix, but i would frequent more often if the apathetic culture change there. There have been many baristas in HRM that have lost their jobs recently, I'm sure there is a lot of talent out there ready to be hired.

Great coffee and best croissants anywhere. Unfortunately it's always crowded and they seem to always run out of the weekly special unless you get there early.

He might be gone but his distasteful essence lingers: -/ the expression on the co-owner's face says it all, this is the attitude you'll be met with here.

Someone PLEASE open a really good place in Dartmouth! I can't be the only one sick of these limited subpar baked goods and coffee spots.
