They overcharged for mileage…. Make sure you take a picture of your mileage or they’ll add mileage. Overall, $30 more than planned. Rent from another location.

Very good. However, the vehicle I rented did have a check engine light lit up, which didn't affect performance of the van, but I wasn't made aware of it. I did report it to the technician when I returned the vehicle.
Also, it would be useful if the customer could pre-calculate what the final charge for the rental, plus charge for kilometres, would be.
Otherwise, my experience with U-Haul was great, I will be using U-Haul again soon.

Pretty good, I would rent from them again. There were some differences between my online reservation and what happened in person that were mostly corrected.

An absolutely smooth experience. Staff were all very quick, helpful, and kind. Super appreciated given how stressful moving is. I've used this U-Haul location a few times as their stock is great. No complaints at all, you can always buy moving gear here which is great in a pinch. Bathrooms were clean too!

Had requested a 10ft truck about a month in advance for a long haul move (to Toronto) - along comes the day of the rental and we are told we are getting a 26ft truck and nothing else was available.

Ended up burning an insane amount of gas ($850+) getting to Toronto + burning out my nerves driving this massive boat though the city/parking it in narrow streets.

I would give a warning to anyone who is renting for a longer haul to call a few times in advance to make sure you are getting the vehicle that you want. The big ones are hard to drive if you are not used to them and burn a TON of gas so be weary (says 10mpg but I highly doubt that).

Overall a pretty annoying/stressful/disapointing experience renting from here.

Absolutely worst customer service ever!
Don’t bother trying to call Dartmouth (or any location) as apparently their policy is customers in the store will always come first. Therefore you could spend forever on hold. I know because after 30 minutes on hold I called back and that’s what the clerk told me. I recommend Bluebird Self storage in Burnside/Dartmouth Crossing.

I rent a van truck today. Using 6hours.
And A Store finished after 5 pm so I want to return self check by my phone.
I couldnot finished self return because of phone couldnot shared location setting.
And parking there and return the key drop in the keybox. Uncomfortable systems.
I try to websit calling and chatting systems but not working too.

On-site staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly, but the remote staff, and the payment systems (pos systems) and insurance coverage (even for a self insured company),

ARE TOTALLY ABYSSMAL AND ALOOF.

If it wasn't for Tommy (Thomas grant), I would have traveled 260km to have a trailer that I couldn't fit what I needed to transport. All the years I've dealt with uhaul (trucks trailers and storage), Tommy is literally the saving grace for your company. He let me know they trailer i needed was not the one that head office booked for me.

I'll continue to book with usual, on a local level, but never will I call head office again for a booking.

Yes, for conflict resolution, but never for bookings.

Shoutout to the Dartmouth location for coming through and fixing everything! It was a stress free vehicle transport!

Had a hitch installed on my vehicle. Took me at arranged time, bill less than quoted and the quote was good in the first place. Front end staff busy, but helpful. Don't usually write reviews, but this is a good place.

I have dealt with 3 different people from this store now. All of them have been incredibly friendly, helpful and profesional.

My wish is that every business I go to treated me like this business has.

After spending time researching renting a car transport in Ontario for a one way rental to Nova Scotia, I learned that it was much cheaper to rent from Nova Scotia and do a round trip vs a one way. I was bringing one of my cars to Nova Scotia to my new house. Renting one way from Ontario was $734 plus tax and insurance but renting for round trip from Dartmouth (3 day) was only $225 including tax and insurance!

Just propane tank filled this morning, but the person who filled it wasn't wearing a mask and the counter person who I paid wasn't wearing a mask, the manager should tell them the rolls, was not impressed at all!

Worst customer service experience ever! Ordered and pre-paid to get a trailer hitch installed on my car well over a month ago. Original appointment cancelled because a part wasn't available. Didn't hear anything for a month. Tried calling several times and could not get through. Sent emails with the only response being "call us". Finally got through and was told I was booked in August 30th and the part was there. A week later tried calling several times again to ask what time the appointment was for. Could not get through. Sent an email. Got the same "call us" response. Yesterday called, waited 20 minutes, got through to someone who was in the United States that confirmed the appointment time. Went in today and was told there were no mechanics on the weekend and the part wasn't available anyway. Waste of countless minutes on the phone, an hour trip there and back and complete misinformation given. DONE! Uhaul- you will never get my business again.

Awful awful awful.
The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. My access code didn't work. They never answer my calls, and they hung up after waiting for a long time. Online chat was just as awful. They ended the chat before helping with anything. I was left stranded with my stuff outside.

They’ve gotten progressively better in recent years. Particularly at customer service. Staff are willing, or willing to find you a location that can help you if they can’t.

Moved from Windsor Ontario to Dartmouth. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate me. I would recommend Uhaul Darmouth without a doubt

Good clean depot. Only 2 down sides are; No email contact address for the Dartmouth Office. This would be very useful as my belongings are in storage at their Windmill Road site in Dartmouth, NS. But I am currently out of the country. Paying online is also not without it's faults. Can be frustrating.

Picked up some moving supplies, boxes, paper, tape. Good service. Any unused boxes can be returned for refund.lots of help loading it all in the car.

As far as storage lockers are concerned, location is the only reason these guys are acceptable. Their maintenance team is nonexistent, also full of empty promises when committing to fixing a long term clients unit.

I've used Uhaul a lot. This was one of the most pleasant experiences. The general manager helped me. Didn't catch her name, but she was very pleasant and a great help.

I went through uhaul to rent a two wheel dolly 8 days ago now, total was 51$ she asked if I had a credit card after the system told her to get 75$ from me incase I dont come back with the dolly.no I don't have a credit card but I have cash here's 75$. I could only get the rental dolly for 6 hours without paying more $ so it had to be back at 11 pm there for I'd have to come back for my 23$ uhaul owes me. So my next chance was yesterday. I go In they can only give me it back on debit card. So here we are the next day the 23$ is not in my debit and I've spent almost 1 hr on hold as I can't just go to the branch on windmill to get this dealt with.

Didn't notice when they charged me for larger wardrobe boxes that I selected, then refused to refund me for one I didn't use because it didn't match what was on the receipt. Total rip off.

Horrible.just horrible espescially (not to be rude) the east indian that works there is a piece of garbage. Added all kinds of things to my order i never asked for.

Booked a truck online two weeks prior to moving only to receive a call from these guys telling us that there are no trucks available.three days prior to our moving date.totally unacceptable! What is the point of making a reservation for a specific vehicle, time and place if they are only going to fail to deliver weeks later!? Now I am scrambling to finda vehicle on two days notice.thanks for nothing U haul!
