Ultimate Home Comfort

After reading some reviews I've decided to post my own experience with my propane fireplace installed by Ultimate Home Comfort in the summer of 2022. I've had nothing but problems with it and need the technicians to come in every fall to get it going. It takes at least 2 weeks or more to get a technician in. This year they will be charging me for the labour to work on a new fireplace which is barely one year old. The problem with this one appears to be once the house drops a certain temperature the fireplace does not work and the flame dies out. My propane fireplace is an Archguard. I been told these fireplaces are the best and had this confirmed last year when I called the manufacturer. I have great regrets about purchasing a propane fireplace from this company.

Had our propane fireplace installed end of June 2022. Have had nothing but problems. Installers cut the hole in the house in the wrong spot, logs kept falling over from the start of install, not all pieces arrived, pieces arrived in wrong colour/style. Logs continued to fall over. New log set was installed and logs still continue to fall over. Staff turnover is crazy and no follow up by new staff to resolve issues. No showed for some appointments. For the price this is a huge disappointment.
I wish I had gone somewhere else or not even installed one. Logs still fall over all of the time. Only time I received a response was if I went in to the store. I’ve spent countless hours calling, emailing and going in to the store and still no resolution. I am now stuck with a defective product and would not recommend this product or store.

This is the 4th Napoleon BBQ we purchased from Laquisha and she is absolutely amazing to deal with. She knows everything about the products she sells including sharing some recipe ideas that were yummy! Hard to find great customer service these days especially with someone so knowledgeable about the brand. Highly recommended to visit her if planning to buy a BBQ. The entire team at Ultimate Home Comfort were great and I always felt they cared about us. Four BBQ’s for different applications and not once did they attempt to sell us the most expensive units - trustworthy, knowledgeable and caring… that’s our experience!

Adam was great to deal with in purchasing my new Napoleon grill. He was knowledgable, helpful and patient and even helped take care of my old bbq. I had a great experience at Ultimate Home Comfort. Highly reccomend.

Picked up my first Napoleon BBQ from Ultimate Home Comfort Cutler Ave Dartmouth NS. I had the pleasure of dealing with Laquisha. Amazing sales person. Very kind and easy to talk with. The whole experience was very comfortable and I would highly recommend this store and dealing with Laquisha.

I'm impressed. I had no idea where to start to switch out of our oil system. Adam came in for a visit that same week, provided all the information I needed and answered my questions.
The financing options were appealing and the decision made sense.
A week later, my new combi boiler is in. Installed in 2 days, I am impressed at the thorough jobs they completed.
The professionals who installed it all were considerate and efficient. They left my house without a spec of dust anywhere.

Not only will the boiler save me money monthly, it is also silent. It is also much smaller than my old oil tank and furnace, so I now have lots of room for storage there.

Super happy with Ultimate Home Comfort. They surpassed my expectations.

Disappointed.called for service on gas fireplace 2 weeks ago and still no call back.

2 years later they replied to this. That could be the problem.whoever is in charge of customer service.

We put a new wood stove in, we were very worried about the process and having it done right.

We could not have been happier with Laquisha and ultimate home comfort, they helped at every step of the way and steered us into the right direction. When it comes to lighting a fire in your house, you want it done safe and with quality work. Ultimate home comfort absolutely nailed it.:)

Been dealing with UHC for a number of years buying propane, but recently had them install a Bosch propane on-demand combi-boiler to replace my 25+ year old oil-fired hot water boiler.

I have to say, we are happy with the Bosch unit and the team did a first-rate job on the install. Very clean and neat. Final invoice was as quoted too (to the penny), so no awkward surprises.

Even in "Eco" mode, the unit provides domestic hot water comparable to the time it took for the previous boiler to.

BTW, since the unit needs to sense flow before it starts making hot water, very low-flow faucets can take time to get hot water - particularly if they are far from the unit. The upstairs bathroom sink took a lot longer due to a heavily flow-restricted faucet. I removed the flow restrictor, and now even that sink get hot water quickly.

Definitely would recommend the Bosch unit.

Ultimate Home Comfort installed our pellet stove years ago without any issues however having the stove serviced annually has been a nightmare. No shows for appointments made. No courtesy call advising that the appointment was not going to be kept. Upon finding out that our last appointment was not going to be honoured, we were advised that they would contact us the following day. They did not reach out to us.

I had an issue with my regulator I purchased 7 years ago. I brought it in, they looked at it and did their best to resolve my issues promptly. They didn't even charge me. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Purchased a fire table from Ultimate Home Comfort. The in-store staff were incredibly helpful and the purchasing process was easy. Our table came early and fully assembled. The delivery guys were great. Would highly recommend.

I would like to personally thank Jason McMullin and the team at Ultimate Home Comfort. I am a long term user, over a decade, of a Quadrafire Mt Vernon AE. I am very satisfied with this unit; energy output, efficiency, and reliability. After over a decade of use, the team at Ultimate Home Comfort along with Quadrafire was able to help me resolve a minor technical issue which had developed. Many thanks to Ultimate Home Comfort for this superior level of customer service.

The best customer service, by far! You can get in touch with them by making a quick phone call (no wait time for the next available rep). They are knowledgeable and accommodating. A recent issue was resolved by David… he went above and beyond! Thanks again!

If you have the coin, this is the place to go. If not, you will someday.in the meantime; it's better than Costco for your tanks fill ups.

Very friendly service. Filled our tank for us and lifted it into the car for me, even though we arrived shortly after closing. Will be the place we are sure to come back to!

I have been a home owner using propane for 35 years, and 6 houses in HRM. I have have many experiences with propane providers. Ultimate Home Comfort provided the single greatest "Customer Experience" above all. From Amanda in Sales to Cindy and the onsite deliver team, they are second to none. They were very quick to respond, they understood my needs, they amended their schedule to address my requirements. Above all else, I did not have to ask the deliver guys to remove their work boots when they entered the home! WOW! What an amazing Team!

Refused to maintain or assist with anything after they installed our heating system.which they at the time where the only ones in the province capable of maintaining it.

We recently purchased a Napolean Prestige gas grill from this location and couldn’t be happier. The store staff is eager, friendly, helpful and very knowledgable. The products are second to none. Thank you so much Rowan and Laquisha for a sensational buying experience.

I do not recommend this store, price wise is on the upper side, and that does not mean that they have high quality/performance products, it just means you pay more for what you can get elsewhere. I have made a few purchases over the years a furnace, fireplace, etc, and not satisfied overall.

Very slow in responding, not sure how to rate them. I need more time to assess them. They trying to find a part for my fireplace. When they do I will make a more accurate assessment. I don't want to to be too quick to judge them.

I have been dealing with UHC for many years and have never had an issue. As soon as you walk in the door, your greeted with enthusiasm and a smile. They even offer coffee, juice or water while your shopping. Where's the champagne (ha ha ha).

I keep going back for the products, expertise and knowledge. If you need a fireplace or wood stove, these are the people you want to deal with.

Update: to be fair the GM did reach out to make things right so I added a star so maybe someone cares about the business unfortunately the place still doesn't inspire confidence, I hope they turn it around. Don't go in for parts, they have no parts dept as informed by the front desk, was told it is them "the sales people" and I guess if you are not there to buy a new stove they aren't going to help you even if you are a former customer poor way to run a store.

We had 2 heat pumps installed in our home in January. Mid-August the main floor unit stopped functioning. We were told it would be mid-September until someone came to look at it. With a lot of calling they came due to a cancellation within 10 days and said it needed a new fan and/or electric board. The friendly repair person said parts in within 1-2 weeks. We finally got the unit fixed mid-October. We expressed over and over that this timeline was unacceptable. ~2 months without heat pump working despite warranty. Bad service!

These guys are the best if you're in the market for a BBQ, Smoker or fireplaces, the service is next level, the staff are always friendly and very knowledgeable. I exclusively use them for all my business and personal needs.

Friendly and helpful staff. One worker even knows many product #'s by memory. Nice selection of wood, pellet, and gas burning stoves. Lots of accessories as well. Downside is cost.
