This hand dryer was so bad I just walked out with my hands still wet. HORRIBLE.

(Edit December 24th)
Hi guys! Update time. I'm very happy to update this review from 1 star to 4 stars! Happy value village took my review seriously and changed their hand dryers during the washroom renovation. Yay!

Prices seem to be fair now. At one point it was almost retail prices for second hand things that have been donated.

Every time I go here I can’t help but notice the absurd prices. It’s a thrift store and everything is second hand and donated there is 0 need to charge brand new prices for used items. I’m better off buying brand new.

The store is usually messy, and workers walk around like they're lost. Poor management is obvious. Prices are high and more expensive than new items in some cases.

This place should be ashamed of theirselves charging the prices they do for the free stuff they received! I will admit I have found a brand phone case for 3bucks which was great but the prices of their clothes are close to the same price as buying them brand new! I would much rather buy new then used for the same price. Everything is donated so the fact they charge what they do is just greedy and the very reason I have never and will never donate to this place! I don't get why people don't give to non profit organizations instead of greedy places like this! Sorry but its true.

Excellent place to buy second hand clothes, there is a lot of variety and excellent service

Decent selection of clothing and items. Wasn't too busy when I was there as well, though for a secondhand store, the clothing can be a bit pricey.

Very expensive.can find items from Dollarama there and the Value Village tags cost more than that item did at dollar store. Unbelievable how they can have such outageous prices when they get all their stock for free. I will stick with Salvation Army and FB marketplace

Thursday, seems to be open at 11am, they seem to let a number of people in at a time.
Lots of books, clothing for the whole family

Its my go to place for toys for my grandchildren. Get age appropriate toys then when they outgrow them or don't interest them.it goes back to Value Village.

Busier than I expected. They do a reasonable job of allowing people to physically distance. Changerooms are currently closed.

Went in looking for a 2x4, unfortunately they had no stock and I had to take my business elsewhere. The selection for building materials was horrendous. I recommend taking your business to KENT building supplies for all of your building needs. Also the short supervisor is an angry little man.

My wife and I bought clothing there yesterday with a 20% off coupon. Due to covid19 restrictions you can't try them on. That's understandable. We got home, tried them on and they were the wrong size. We were sort of relieved because the prices have spiked incredibly high since covid. We went to return today and were told we had to do exchange only. Ok. Fine. So we went and got different sizes. We get to the cash and they didn't Honor the 20% off coupon so we had to pay more than what we did yesterday. Let's just say. That will be out last visit to value village. We also donate lots each year and we will be taking our business elsewhere.

Clean well organized. Easy to find things and they have a little bit of everything! Definitely one of the better value villages.

It's a fun place to go. Some items are pricey and there are bargains to be found if you hunt for them. What I like is the idea of donating stuff you no longer use.

The people here were pretty nice. Honestly maybe even nicer than they had to be and it was a great time in general shopping here.
12 January 2021 5:44
The only downside to a store like this is you're almost guaranteed one weirdo customer, but if you're looking to thrift shop it is neat and well organized.
05 January 2021 16:10
Fitting rooms are closed due to Covid. That's fine. I was told "so we have a 14 day RETURN policy". We return the clothes that were nowhere close to advertised size: "Exchange ONLY". THAT'S AN EXCHANGE POLICY, NOT RETURN! I am not at all impressed, and frankly that's fraud.

Used to love this place but now the prices have got so high you might as well buy new. $9.99 for used Walmart jeans? They only retail for a few dollars more.

Prices have gone uphill since I can remember. Same quality as before, just more expensive now. Used to go a lot but not anymore

I love the idea of Value Village. But the prices here are insane. They've definitely been increased again after post Covid reopening.

Save your money. It is a good place though to literally drop off bags of garbage. The parking lot is always full. So I guess people are paying the prices.so what do I know.

I love this place.it is just affordable and you will get pretty good things. It will not look like a second hand or anything
09 August 2019 10:11
WAY OVERPRICED. Not enough $$ goes back to the charities they claim to support. $18.99 for a pair of used jeans (not a brand name) is too high.
06 August 2019 21:00
Prices are set in the United States where the value of the $$$ is higher than the Canadian greenback. The merchandise is priced according to "brand name. " Columbia, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, etc. A lg. %cent of the merchandise is donated. Friendly staff and wheelchair accessible. Located in Village Gate on Pleasant St.in Dartmouth across from the Esso Service Station in Woodside.

Some different selection here than Bayers Lake. It makes for nice variety. The staff is really nice. It's in a good spot to also grab some good food nearby. Close to the ferry terminal too!

Large store with lots of items. Sometimes they over price the items (I. E.a bag of old 256 mb and less 2ddr at $12 when it is so old it should be recycled) but other times they have really good prices (I. E. $10 for a 1970 Blythe doll which sells online for $500).
