Had to take back 2 things this week and they were both more than. $15 each a little pricey to take your chances

Over priced clothing, shoes, toys and furniture. Can find reasonably priced other things. Children's books are reasonable. If you know your prices well can be a good place to go. These complaints aren't specific to This location, I've been to value villages in Calgary, Halifax etc and the over pricing is the same at all.

I mostly just go here when I'm really high and want to look at the wacky homemade paintings that otherwise I've never had interest in. Solid experience.

Typical overpriced, donated items. Variety isn't bad, but the same stuff sits on shelves for what seems like months on end!

I enjoy being in there with all the different products and services are great. I enjoy crafting, so I get different varieties of things to make crafts for myself or gifts.

Usually pretty decent finds and quite the busy place. Staff members are always friendly and prices can be changed based on quality of items. Two stars off for the lack of any sort of changing rooms, covid restrictions are all gone but still no changing rooms. Real bummer.

Staff are wonderful good stick.pricing is abhorrent sometimes check your local thrift stores first before coming here!

Love stopping in at Value Village when I go to New Glasgow. Always find something. However I do find some of the pricing being a bit high on something things they last few visits.
02 March 2022 8:57
Prices are getting higher and the quality of clothing is getting lower. I still get some good finds there though. I'd recommend frenchies instead of value village because their prices are cheaper.
18 February 2022 14:36
When you walk in you expect to get used items for a pretty decent price, no not here, all you will find is used board games more then the price they are in walmart for exaple, and if you end up buying these overpriced things you will not even have all the pieces for them!

Why you should go to this store They have Vary Nice Staff some areas are a little but not as bad as some stores anyway amazing prices and I love the smell I know that’s a weird thing to say but it’s true the store smells amazing I definitely recommend

This Value Village is awesome! Lots of selection and the items are in great shape compared to other Value Village.

Great business. Large well stocked and variety of merchandise. Helpful staff. Clean enviroment. Awesome prices. Real asset to the shopping public.

Excellent place for gently used clothes. If you are on vacation and need to find something, this is the perfect place to go.

I almost always find exotic beer stemware to add to my Belgian collection.
04 October 2021 11:45
Extremely overpriced even for Value Village. For example, an Ardene's Basics top was priced at $18.99, it seems they do across the board high pricing which is driving people away. Poor organization and dirty, broken items are the norm. Staff as really nice and helpful though!
02 August 2021 5:39
Usually not the most interesting selection of items. There are occasionally good deals to be had here on coveted items; prepare to be lucky.
04 May 2021 3:30
Got them to reprice 2 items that were priced higher than their new prices!
Has been happening more often
23 April 2021 21:10
Some prices are almost the same as what you get on a clearance sale of the brand new clothing version.but I still go there anyway
04 April 2021 6:53
Be careful! Some prices are way too high considering that they're previously used products. But there are many items which are priced properly for what they are and where they have been, so if you keep this in mind you'll be sure to find a gem amongst the stones.

Good clean Value Village. Has a better layout and less clutter than other stores I've been in. Prices are still higher than they should be. But, that is pretty consistent among all Value Villages.

Hit or miss, they are in the business to make money which means they will rip you off if you let them. They take donated items; say a sweater from bluenotes that cost $11 when it was new, and sell it for $14.99 used.

If you can avoid most of the awful things like that, you can find good deals when they slip up. I got a $100 mechanical RGB keyboard for $5.99 because it was priced like the rest of the keyboards; so there are good deals there you just have to understand they are rare, and usually just luck based.
They are making less and less mistakes like that so I imagine in a few years there won't be a point in even stopping by one of these anymore.

Disappointed in the store. Everything is donated and the prices are crazy. Customers were not social distancing and most were not wearing masks.
25 July 2020 12:37
I know it is a for profit store, but the prices they charge for donated items is ridiculous! $16.99 for a purse? I'm a book buyer and I was disappointed in the prices of books too. You are better off shopping at yard sales or smaller thrift stores if you actually want to thrift! I told my partner, this was my last visit to a VV.
23 April 2020 22:24
Clothing prices are ridiculous - they overcharge. Household items are decent, but buyer beware!

Thanks Kevin for helping Highland Community Residential Services! Our resident appreciates the clothes you provide him very much.
20 March 2020 13:31
I have found plenty of decent things here over the last few years, although it can be a hit and miss. My biggest issue is their pricing, which I don't know how they justify it sometimes. The prices for books are a bit ridiculous, and I've noticed lately that they've jacked up the cost.
16 March 2020 22:14
I don't know what happened but all of a sudden the prices skyrocketed and you're better off going almost anywhere else
08 January 2020 14:31
Everything you can think of. Just a bit overpriced for the previously enjoyed. Amazing, helpful staff!
26 December 2019 15:29
The service is good as the wide range of things to check out. Really cool is the fact that they actually accept donations of used materials in return for a ticket to shop here. That is cool!
23 December 2019 14:38
Store was tidy, customers were helped in a timely manner, extra checkout was opened promptly when 3 customers arrived at the checkouts
15 November 2019 19:03
The prices are higher than the stores on some items. Or the prices are inconsistent between exactly the same items.
15 November 2019 16:36
Way too expensive.went looking for pots to buy for someone in need it was almost
$40 for three used pots with lids. Left them there. Way too pricey for second hand donated goods
04 November 2019 9:09
I was going to purchase a bag till I seen the price tag on it was $3 from Superstore and the price tag on it from Value Village was 2 99.so I showed it to the girl at the checkout and she got a price check on it so they marked it down to 1.99 so I told him to keep it. Seen another bag the exact same thing it was $3 from Dollarama and Value Village was selling it for $2.99 what's the point of people going there if they're going to pay the exact same price for a second-hand item I can tell you that I'm going to think twice before stepping in there thank you for your time
30 September 2019 14:20
Love to find deals here but you have to look hard because they like to price dollar store items for $10
27 April 2019 18:38
Disappointed! Place does not smell healthy and the prices are outrageous. I have never found a thing worth buying. So many other nicer second hand stores to spend my time and money.
07 April 2019 21:27
Value Village is an awesome store, relatively fair priced clothing, as well as various other items from books, board games, electronics, furniture, home decor, jewelry, and a selection of toys! This specific Value Village has an enormous selection of almost all of these categories! My only concern is that occasionally you will find items that are priced differently due to "brand name" or the "condition of the item! " Great place to shop for second hand items!
07 April 2019 12:10
Clothing prices OK, prices on dishware, furniture, other stuff is way off.example: plastic water bottles the other day 4.99-7.99. Some with Dollar am a stickers on them for $2. I could understand if they were good quality/name brand, but these were not. Another example in furniture, 2 kids wood tables, 1 solid sturdy solid wood with hinged top to open&put books in with a wood chair $4.99, the other double the size, no chair, thin wood &wobbles if you touch it $17.99. I bought the $4.99 one.same as 2 exercise mats, Exactly the same, one $4.99, the other $9.99. That's my experience.
27 March 2019 22:49
Disappointed with the quality for the prices. They are charging retail prices for clothing that has been donated. Some of the items are damaged and in very poor condition. This used to be my go to store, but not anymore. It is extremely disappointing. I like to help charities but the CEO needs to reassess his business practices and possibly lower his salary to reflect the lack of quality.
27 January 2019 9:12
I used to love Value Village however items are becoming more and more expensive for items they got for free. They have a great selection of item especially clothes but with the current prices I just cant recomend going to any value village. If you need clothes go too a frenchies or a Louis for great deals on used clothing.
