Victoria's Historic Inn

Room was dirty when I arrived. Toilet had urine on the base, and a ring of urine in the bowl. No facecloths. One used towel and one ‘clean’ one. Dust on every surface. Very limited hours for breakfast. Thermostat set to 95 F.

Zero for cleanliness, there was years worth of dust clusters under the bed, along with small necklace beads from someone's broken necklace and a small 2 inch square of a green garbage bag. OUT OF 5 PILLOWS ONLY 1 HAD A PILLOWCASE. The public bathroom on main level was disgusting and the dirt was everywhere and old caked on dirt. The staff member had been on duty for hours by this time so did not care and there was no hand dying other than a roll of toilet paper in the vicinity of the sink. The hand towel dispenser was empty. There were dirty carpets, dirty table cloths so we did not want to even try the food.

We had stayed here 6 years ago and loved it. The inn itself is nice, but has badly deteriorated. Our room, while bright and nice looking at first glance, was filthy. First step into the bathroom, there was a plastic champagne glass on the floor. Towels clean but old and threadbare. Tub and sink were clean. Area rugs and floors were filthy, looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in ages. Dust everywhere, cobwebs in corners and closets. Sheets appeared to be dirty, and very old at least.
The caretaker was nice, but at no time did we hear or see him cleaning. The bathroom in the main entry area was filthy—sink almost brown it was so dirty, mirror had old water/splash marks all over it, nothing was clean. Breakfast was included but we skipped it. Even the automatic coffee maker was so dirty, it had layers of dried coffee all over it. The whole dining area was dirty—side table, dining tables had dirty table cloths over them. No way we were eating there. Do not recommend.

Room is very dated, dirty towels, carpet not vacuumed, tv the size of a iPad with crooked tv stand. Bedsheets didn’t stay on bed. Facecloths and bath mat over used. No one at reception pass 9 pm, no one at reception when checked out. We aren’t fussy people, we won’t be staying there again.

Preface with we visited in 2020 when there were Covid restrictions. However, the pandemic can't be an excuse for all of these challenges.

We booked this B&B for a birthday weekend in the summer. When we arrived, we were told that breakfast consisted of cereal and I think fruit. It was not noted on the website that there was no hot breakfast, and it certainly wasn't reflected in the room price. I'm sure most people would agree that this is not what breakfast means at a B&B.

We booked the room that's at the very top of the main house. The building was really interesting and I loved the decorations/ ambiance/ etc. Wouldn't have surprised me to run into a ghost. The room was also nicely laid out and clean. The bed was so hard. I have never slept in a bed on a trip that was so hard before. Then there was the bathroom. It had a very large tub, but to get into the tub/shower, your had to take a big step over the side. Hard to describe, but if you are on the shorter side like me, I felt like I was going to slip just stepping in and out of the tub. It was honestly a bit ridiculous.

We really love the area, but ended up only staying one night rather than two due to the disappointing lack of breakfast and hard bed. There was no one around in charge when we left our key and we were never contacted about why we left early.

Stayed here pre-covid and am very disappointed in latest stay here (Jan 2023). Room is very small and dark. Had to re-arrange furniture and unplug side lights making it darker) to have a place to put and charge a phone and tablet. Floors are not clean, carpets are worn out and wall dirty / need painting. Talking with staff feels like you are disturbing them. Limited standing headroom in bathroom.

My wife and grandson arrived at the Inn to find the bedding stained and hair on the pillows. I advised the manager that we could not accept the room. We drove almost 2 hours to Halifax to find new lodging. Despite the fact that we did not use the room, the Inn charged us $206. I followed up by phone and email on multiple occasions requesting that the Inn reverse the charges. Despite my phone calls and emails and despite follow-up by Expedia and Visa, the Inn has not reversed the charge after more than 2 months. This is unacceptable and I advise travellers to avoid the Victoria Historic Inn.

The Victorian Inn has gone downhill. Furniture in our room was shabby as well as the pillows and linens need to be replaced. Also we noticed that our sheets had not been changed. The inn has not been cleaned in a very long time and has an overall feeling of shabbiness. Would not recommend.

Toilet leaked, common areas dirty, unable to accommodate a breakfast earlier than 830 and didn't offer a discount on the room when wifi or breakfast wasn't provided!

Filthy, overgrown grounds. Too scared to eat the complimentary breakfast. This is NOT a 5 star inn. Sleep in your car before thinking about staying here. Over priced for this shabby inn. At one time, it was probably beautifully maintained. This business should be shut down and properly cleaned up inside and out.

This used to be a beautiful charming historic Inn. It is now run down, dirty, tired and looks like it hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. My room was dirty (carpets gross so I kept my shoes on), the bathroom towels did not seem to have been washed (they smelled) and were old and thread bare, lock on the room door was about to fall off. Such a shame! The staff were v nice but hard to reach while there.

The hotel is filthy. We arrived to dirty carpets throughout. Our room had dirty sheets, floors and everything else. We got moved to another room and it was also filthy. Would never stay here. Book anywhere else. We left. No refund.

The room was beautiful and the beds were very comfortable. It just wasn’t as clean as I would have have liked. The shower curtain was dirty with mildew and the grout was quite black on many of the tiles. There was dust on the furniture and the mirror was quite smudged with someone else’s fingerprints. The grounds could use some gardening work. Very overgrown and in disarray. The building appeared abandoned as we walked up to it. Didn’t present well. The staff were very nice The breakfast was just ok as they were out of some things.

Room info states breakfast served between 8 am and 930 am. On arrival we were told that it was from 10 to 11. We never actually had breakfast during our 5 day stay.

We love this inn! Friendly staff and beautiful building! Always our favourite place to stay when in Wolfville

We had a pleasant experience last May at Victoria's Historic Inn as we stayed here on our 3 month vacation tour of wonderful Canada. Very nice Bed & Breakfast we stayed in the back lower level Apartment Complex. Our room was clean and the bed most comfortable. We were served some awesome breakfasts. Walking distance to the downtown area of shops and restaurants and Acadia University. Would love to go back again. Kindly click the like button if this review or my photos are useful.

Beautiful historic inn, only negative as a traveler was breakfast time didn't start until 8, it would have been better if it started at 7
