Wabo's Pizza Sub & Donair

Very, very, very slow service. We waited a long time to place an order. Seemed like we were invisible to the person taking the orders. We left without ordering. Not likely to return.

Paid $20 and waited 25 minutes for a basic pizza sub with barely anything on it and a side of fries.
Cashier was friendly but handled cash then my pizza sub bun without washing her hands in between.

Good service and the outdoor atmosphere was great. Pizza sauce was a little bland and wasn't anything special to brag about.

Like maybe its just not my thing, the East Coast donair. I just didnt like how little was on it, meat, tomato, sweet sauce.

The pizza is horrible, overly bland and the dough is hilariously raw, it tasted better trunk-heated than fresh. And for some reason they count cheese as a topping? Like what are you going to do, give me tomato sauce on dough and charge me the normal price?

Ordered a large donair wrap to share and heard the microwave being used when it was being made so was expecting it to be bad. To my surprise it was actually pretty good, but to charge $16 (with tax) is a total rip off, especially when you are microwaving and was not what I’d consider large (more like a medium)

This is my first time around here ill give 5 stars to the food it was incredible not sure if ill ever trust a poutine again because it was incredibly amazing as for the staff i understand there busy but it felt like they didn't want to make our order at all the lady at the counter was a little rude but the food is incredible and the owner clearly loves his restaurant so a million stars for the yummy food 3 stars for service

Just carried out the Donair Pizza. We are not Canadian, but this was possibly, one of the best pizzas, I have ever had. I was skeptical.but, I am now planning, to eat here again tomorrow!

The restaurant itself was in a nice location along the water. It was chilly so we opted to eat inside. Service was fairly quick and when the pizza came out it looked delicious but our taste buds didn't concur.

The sauce was too busy and consumed by oregano. It also had a slightly acidic taste to it like a frozen pizza. The cheese was not that salty stringy cheese but rubbery. The crust however was quite delicious! Simple, slight salt flavor, crunchy and slightly tough (I like having to rip off chunks of pizza.) Was the pizza horrible? No but there was nothing that stood out about it unfortunately.

My friend recommended Wabo's we came in and the girl at the cash was run off her feet busy but still gave amazing service. There was only 2 people working and than they had someone come in to help. It was a bit of a wait but it was worth it! I had the panzerotti and it was the best I have ever had! Great service and great food!

Pizza was ok, somewhat lacking for a 28 plus tax pizza but the spinach dip which I was told to be enough for 2 people was barely anything and it was the store bought kind and basically a 250ml measuring cups worth. I've had it from the grocery store. To top it off it was served still cold, they didn't even bother to warm it up. For something that small of a serving that cost 14 plus tax you'd think there would have been a bit more effort put into it.

Small but quaint little Italian restaurant on the shore. Great pizza and the wings were awesome to. All reasonably priced. Great service no wait.

Male Waiter was the highlight of this experience. We had a great conversation with him and he was very funny. Unfortunately, we did not get his name.
Food was mediocre, we had to wait just over an hour for our pizza and poutine. Pizza was equivalent to frozen pizza and they forgot to add the secret/special spices to our poutine. We had Wabos pizza in summer of 2021 and it was excellent. Too bad they have gone downhill since.
I believe we were over charged for how their system generated the receipt. The system added all the ingredients to the pizza as add-on ($). The receipt should have read 2 vegetarian pizzas and Wabos special poutine.

Absolutely and fantastically delicious. People inside are a delight to deal with. The pizza dough is cooked perfect, light and fluffy with a crispy outer layer. Melt in your mouth Donaire meat. Very flavorful and fresh tasting sauce. Stringy cheese. A must eat if your in this neck of the woods!

The service was extremely friendly, the terrace absolutely wonderful in the evening sun.
The pizza almost tastes like in Italy.

Ordered a pepperoni pizza and a donair pizza.
It was _fine_. We had no real complaints, but we were unimpressed.
It also took an hour.
Would not recommend.

Very delicious pizza! We had the seafood pizza and donair pizza. Can't get over how good the crust was. Very generous with the toppings, would eat again!

Great service and Vegetable Pizza and Nachos were amazing, and their Waffle Fries are really good too. We all enjoyed our lunch throughly.

I tried their pizza with "the works" and a Donair. The pizza was a little pricey but you got your value in toppings.

The donair was delicious, it had a certain kick to it and it really made me want another! My one issue with the donair was the size for what you pay, a large seems more like a small if you got one anywhere else.

This pizza was just bad. Barely any vegetables, cheese or sauce on the cardboard crust. Totally overpriced and tasted like nothing. A total rip off.
I've given this place multiple chances but everytime I'm disappointed.
How do you mess up pizza? I don't know how people give this place anything over 1 star. It's only busy because it's only pizza place in town.
Stop skimping on toppings and give customers what you are charging them for! Vegetables are not only put through a blender to make them as small as they can be but barely cover the pizza. No sauce, no cheese barely any meat. Even when you ask for double you still get nothing and get charged more!

Don't waste your money on this place, it's horrible. Buy a frozen pizza instead. Way better!

We had lunch at Wabo's downstairs in the restaurant. It was quiet when we arrived, but became busier while we ate. The one server might have been busy, but seemed to handle it pretty good. She was very nice and fairly efficient in respects to us.
We only ordered a 12" pie. But we found the price fairly reasonable. The pizza itself was in our opinion, OK, but not all that great. Don't get me wrong, it was not bad. Just not what we consider really good pizza.
I would return to Wabo's if in the area. But for me, I might try another option on the menu.

Seems like this is the only restaurant open after 8pm in town. Which makes it very busy in the evening. We had to wait for over an hour to get our pizza. Fortunately it was quite good.

Très déçus de la pizza qui ne goûte ABSOLUMENT rien et n'a pas de croûte! Pas de service et EXTRÊMEMENT long avant d'avoir notre commande. C'était interminable! Nous n'y retournerons pas! Seul point positif: la belle vue sur le coucher de soleil.

The food was fine but the service was incredibly slow. I thought there was only one person working until I stepped inside for the washroom. They didn't have any craft beer on tap despite advertising that outside and it took about 40 minutes to get the water and single bottle of beer that we'd ordered. The pizza was probably another 40 minutes getting to our table. The pizza was alright but nothing to write home about.

Nice little spot to stop and grab a slice or whole pie.

Mediocre pizza, tasteless crust. A plain pizza that could have been made better with a lot of Tabasco sauce. However, good crispy waffle fries. Out of the many restaurants in Cheticamp, this one closed the latest (10? 11? Pm).

Paid 29.00 for “bbq chicken nachos” and a ceasar salad. The nachos had hardly any cheese on them and the chicken was a grey color. There was more bbq sauce than anything else and they were cold. The salad was 9.00 and it was very small. Wouldn’t get these things again. The nachos were no where’s near restaurant quality and the salad was very overpriced for the size.

Cheese pizza and garlic fingers had barely any cheese considering the only topping is cheese. Lasagne was flavorless, and also had barely any cheese. Can't decide between 2 and 3 stars. Would not go back.

Pizza was overpriced as well as kind of burnt and didn't taste good. If you are this bad at making something as awesome as pizza you definitely need to change professions/jobs and look to something that doesn't involve cooking. Since I can't dance, I keep my hind parts off the dance floor. This place can't cook and should probably keep their hind parts out of the kitchen!

Firstly, Order was missing and we have to go back to collect missing Coke bottle.
Secondly, Chicken wings are worst quality and they put extra salt so we give them back and they don’t give any exchange or refund.
Customer service is also not satisfied.
DONT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

For Nova Scotia Standards (pls do not get me wrong. I love Nova Scotia but you guys mostly eat fast food in restaurants if it is not sea food) this is a good place to eat pizza or donair (an interpretation of kebab). Service was very friendly.

Since new ownership - there is no quality control.
1. Ordered 1 large pizza and it barely maintained the shape of a pizza. It was 'puffed up' on one side and 'flattened' on the other. The toppings were not spread out evenly at all. Overall quality was terrible.
2. Ordered 1 large donair wrap and the pita bread was so small, it barely made a complete 'wrap' to contain the filling. Total mess. The donair meat was also in big 'chunks' instead of 'shavings' like it's supposed to be when shaved off the log. Definitely not authentic. Total disappointment.

We had the lasagna, spaghetti with meatballs and ceasar salad. The lasagna was good as was the pasta but the ceasar salad was lacking in size, we ordered a large and got the same amount as a small at other restaurants close by.

Expensive, pizza was pretty meh. Donair was pretty meh. To be fair we did order a Donair pizza which in hindsight was probably not the best idea. Seating area is awesome.

The pizza was good, I really liked the crust. It is a pizza takeout place with very limited seating. The time we were there the order took longer than expected. Overall it was a good value for Price.

Had 2 meals here. Both excellent.courteous staff and good cooks. I recommend the steak and cheese and the garlic fingers. Not the bruschetta though.

Extremely kind staff. My wife and I tried donnairs for the first time here and they were delicious. We will definitely come back of we are ever in the area again.

Best pizza I've ever had. Loved it so much went back for take out. The chicken Parm was pretty good as well, pretty large portion and the donair was amazing. We wouldnt recommend the Bbq chicken nachos, a bit too saucy! Definitely worth it for the Hawaiin Pizza. We also got lucky, sitting on the patio with love music!

Very expensive for what you get. Fries were soggy, pizza dough was undercooked.but the staff was very friendly and the sitting area is nice.

Friendly staff. But worst garlic fingers ever. Son couldn't eat them. Also very dry donair sub. After 25min wait very disappointed.

We stopped by Wabo on the recommendation of our Airbnb host. The restaurant is on the main strip in Grand Etang so it's not out of the way if you're staying close to the area. The place has two sides - a take out side and an eat in side. We ate in on the lower restaurant side. We ended up ordering two 9" pizzas - a custom order and a Donair pizza. We felt the pizza was good quality from crust to toppings, and there was a good selection of pizzas and toppings to choose from. Additionally, our service was fast and friendly and we would visit this location again.
