Tents/small campercans - AVOID

Basically a RV camp, not suitable for campers.

Bathrooms & showers moldy, tons of insects crawling up your stuff.
40$ for no services, then you must pay for showers? Overpriced, knowing that it is not invested in improving the facilities.
No space for washing dishes / laundry. No common shelter.
Campsites either in a bare field, or upslope.wo if you need trees to hand stuff, youll have a hard time getting your car in there.
Campsite ground full of trash.
Campsite grounds full of rocks (not tent friendly), but also very swampy and muddy, the water does not drain well.we almost got stuck to get out of there in the morning after a loght rain shower.

> We had campsite 102, but we looked into other sites beforehand which were same / worste.

> We drove by the other campground in Peggys Cove (King Neptune), but it had no trees at all, and reviews were worst. So in our opinion, avoid camping in the area. Enjoy Peggys cove and leave.

We camped here 4 nights and it was a nice private campground. The site we had was a good size, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The swimming area is across the road, it isn't huge but the kids had a blast. My only issues were the really small-old playground and the bathrooms can probably use an upgrade. They were clean and usable so don't let this keep you from staying here.
We had a great time at this park, and it's in a great location if you're doing some sight seeing in the area.

May be one of the worst campground we did in five months in Canada.
40$ for a service site, the price is correct but wifi is not available in the campsite, laundry doesn’t work, washroom and shower in a poor shape plenty of insects, and pit fire are full of rubbish! You have to clean it yourself before use it.

The park was easy to find. It is located on highway 333 (Peggy’s Cove Road) about 40 minutes from Halifax’s Water Front and about 10 minutes from Peggy’s Cove. There is pavement all the way. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are really basic. You are expected to just use common sense and respect your fellow campers. The interior roads are a mix of gravel and dirt.

Our site, 35 was a back in that was just long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30 amp, water and sewer) were to the left side. Be aware, the sewer connection is just an open pipe that you cover with a rock when you leave, Not very sanitary plus there is strong odors when you dump. Distancing is close for a rural park. Each site has a table and a fire pit. Our site was flat and even. Overall the park was a bit rough looking. Some TLC is definitely needed. The owner’s residence appears to be undergoing some renovation…. That is obviously taking a long time. Grass/weeds need to be mowed. There is just a lack of care and it shows.

The park included wifi is incredible. One of the best we have used. There is no cable TV and found no OTA TV. Satellite might be difficult because of the trees if you don’t have a portable dish. We did not use the washrooms or showers but we checked and found them clean. The laundromat is out of service and it appears that no attempt to bring it back is in the works. There is a rough playground for the youngsters.

There are no restaurants or stores within easy walking distance but just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. Ice and firewood can be purchased from the office. We found this park to be a good base to use for visiting the local attractions. We paid $40.00 per night and we feel we received good value. We will be back if in the area again.

Nice dog friendly campground with great wooded tent sites. Great location, friendly staff. Really quiet campground if you're looking for a peaceful, affordable getaway close to the ocean. Highly recommend, and we'll be back. Only 4 stars becauae the dumping station isn't great if you have a trailer.

Wayside camping is Amazing! Perfect location between Halifax and Peggy's Cove. A Beautiful waterside drive, lots to see! Kind and humble establishment. The owner is amazing and gives excellent services. All in all, Beautiful!

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Thank you so much for the hospitality! It’s a nice wooded site and close to Peggy’s Cove.
The roadside sites are a bit too close together. The distance between the sewer pipe of the neighbouring camper and the picnic bench was about a meter… and we already moved it close to our camper. Parking the cars in front of the camper is tight and very (too?) close to the neighbour camp fire.
If they would space it out a little bit more, it would be a fantastic place.

Terrible. The dump station is out of this world.isn’t a dump station, is just a hole in the grass that going to the other side of the river.

Had an exceptional two weeks camping at Wayside. Great location and excellent hosts, very helpful and made us feel very welcome. Already looking forward to our next stay.

We enjoyed our stay other than the lack of laundry facilities. Having to drive to Halifax was a big inconvenience and the washrooms were not very clean. Nice people though

Toilettes et douches malpropres, pas entretenues. Plusieurs campeurs résidents avec des installations de broche à foin affreuses. Quelques beaux emplacements tout de même (mais pas le nôtre!).

We had a fabulous time here. One of the things I noticed was the variety of lots. Most offered great privacy but there were some spots that if you were camping with friends or extended family you could book a few spots and feel like it was your own little nook. Seasonal regulars were very friendly. They definitely have a few green thumb campers that stay there. The lots are well maintained and the washrooms and facilities were extremely clean. It is an older campground and family owned, overall great service. Close enough to Canadian Tire or the local grocery store if you’ve forgotten anything but far enough away with a great view of the ocean, lots of foliage and treed spaces. Wifi hot spot only, but we weren’t in need of wifi. A small older playground. Plenty of bunnies hopping around. Not too far from Peggy’s Cove, Albert’s Wharf Art Gallery, Sugar Bubbles soap store, and Tom’s Lobster Shack.

I have a seasonal trailer there. Love the peacefulness and the people that run it. Great people, friendly, and made alot of friends. Great place.

The registration office was very nice, and allowed us to change sites when we asked to move to one with more available sun. The washrooms were a wee bit of a hike as they were downhill from our campsite, and the one located closer to us had been shut down. I'd stay there again.

We really enjoyed camping in this park. It is run by a local family and their service is excellent. They are on hand to help if needed. Prices are good, and on par with most campgrounds. Firewood is good, which is very important to us. Great sites and services, and a more secluded tenting area and section with woods. Our site had a great view of the ocean and the local Cape Islander boats. Well worth the chance.

Good campground with friendly service really close to Halifax. Although the laundry doesn't work very good and the bathroom/showers are freezing. Make sure to say hi to Digger!

Fifth time of choosing this wonderful place as our first or last stay during our North America trips with shipping our own RV between Halifax NS and Hamburg GER.
The natural scene around and the kindness of people and especially of staff hereby are awesome.
We know and love the feeling of real Camping and the differences to hotels.

The price is very good here and the location is great. The camp itself suffers from some lack of maintenance. Overall, YES, I would stay here again and I would recommend it to others. However, if I owned it, I'd straighten the place up and clean the laundramat, etc.

We enjoyed our stay at Wayside. We have two children and decided to stay for about 11 days. We drive an F250 and pull a 31ft fifth wheel. We were pleased to have good wifi and the location was perfect. We were in a beautiful area but close enough to a grocery store when needed. We also appreciated the cost; we felt they were very reasonable. The staff was also friendly and accommodating.

Camping.correct. Douche et toilette propre mais les bâtisse sont a revoir.
Une bataille constante contre les moustiques lol une quantité hors norme pour la fin juillet.

We stayed here to be close to Peggy's Cove on our way through the area. The people were friendly and some of the tent sites were tucked away into the woods which was awesome for privacy. They also have some more open field spaces which work well if you have a larger group or can't get your vehicle into the more wooded areas (not sure all are easy to drive up to).
It's 35$ a night for an unserviced site. Unsure about RV sites.
Their website doesn't reflect the current prices and seems unfinished, I'd just call them to confirm if you have questions.
Showers are coin operated, I believe it's 1$ for ten minutes? Facilities are a bit dated but hey, you're camping!

Very Very accommodating and beautiful scenery. Our site was clean and the staff was very welcoming. Fire pits, wood, clean washrooms, and tested well water. We wanted to have a lobster boil and they even borrowed us a cooking pot,:) We were only supposed to stay 2 nights but ended up staying 4 instead. Thank you Wayside. - Alex Girouard
