Beautiful spot. Enjoyed our New Years weekend here and it was great. The food, service, and staff were all amazing. Will come back again!

Everything including our experience was awesome The only place that was weak was the food.aside from the roast beef, frittata much of everything else was secondary and the three days were there we never got to eat any vegetables at all. The service was impeccable the waiters and waitresses and bus boys bus girls was impeccable the experience was a TEN.
Then comes the charcuterie board Boy did it suck They set out four plates four forks in the platter there was seven pieces of meat three crackers two olives and two wedges of bread.not even close to meet the needs for 2 let alone serving food 4.certainly wasn't worth the $25 we paid for it

The staff is very friendly and the location is very nice!

The rooms are quite outdated, it gives you more of a cottage feel instead of a Resort feel.

Food is very good, drinks are very good. There are nice activities as well.

Indoor/outdoor pool are nice.

Overall, it's a very nice place, older, but nice

The location is amazing. The cabins give a roof over your head and a soft bed.

The food is sub par.
The dog park is so far below sub par it's funny.
The staff seem to be on auto pilot.
The garden was falling apart and flooded.
The moisture in the cabins is awful.
The bathrooms have NO ventilation.

If not for the location and looks of the main lodge this is a 1 star hotel/motel with cabins.

We stayed in a glome. It was idyllic. Beautiful surroundings. The resort is right on the ocean. The restaurant has ocean views and delicious food. Highly recommend. We will be back!

Very nice location on the North Atlantic.
The beach a dream. Had a room like some kind of row house. Unfortunately the rooms are very noisy.
Other guests don't care, talk loudly (early in the morning at 06: 30)
Block the entrance with the car although there is enough parking space.
In general, something could be renovated.staff very friendly.
An extra room is provided for children with variety and a program.

Great place for families with young children. Lots of activities on site. We will definitely go back. The resort was more dated than we were expecting based on photos online. The room itself was comfortable.

Food was terrible.service was terrible.cabin had dirty dishes and ants.views were beautiful.for what we spent it was very disappointing

The area is very nice. It's a stoney beach so don't count on sitting in the sand, and the water is very cold. The fresh water lake is really nice though. The bunnies were very over advertised. We saw 2 the entire time and they don't let you get close. Very kid friendly though, especially if you have multiple kids who can entertain themselves.

The rooms have paper thin walls so I recommend a cabin if you don't like listening to all the conversations next door. WiFi was spotty at best and cell service was barely usable. It was all pretty acceptable except for.the food. Very expensive and not very good. Especially the pub fare. Highly recommend going into town to eat if your tastes are a little more blue collar or you don'tlike seafood.

It was wonderful to be able to watch the sunrise and listen to the crash of the waves on the beach every morning and be in such a relaxing environment. I really enjoyed the buffets they had in the dining room during my stay and the server I had both evenings was lovely. I stayed in a lakefront room and am looking forward to visiting again.

Just a beautiful place. My family and I enjoy the ocean side cottages very much. For my wife and I, sitting on the porch of cabin 11 with a hot beverage looking at and listening to the waves is hard to beat.

The food here is great too. My boys especially love the breakfast buffet.

Even in late November it was lovely to get out for walks, see the bunnies, and enjoy the indoor activities provided with the family. A wood fire in our little cottage with a beautiful ocean view was also such a cozy break from the winter blues.

The location, view, scenery, ocean and rabbits were amazing and the people that worked there were great.

The rooms, unfortunately, were not up to par.our room (at the Lakeside retreat) was musty, dirty, and filled with a number of bugs from spiders, fruit flies, earwigs, slugs and more. Ugh.

We just returned from a 5 day vacation at Whitepoint. This is our 6th trip there in 3 years. We have stayed in the Lakeside retreats and both oceanfront and hilltop cottages. This time was our absolute best visit. The resort is really getting back to pre pandemic ways. The dining at Elliott's as well as the lounge was incredible. The staff, always gracious and the atmosphere was awesome. Booking a treehouse vacation for next year.

Course could be in better shape. You can't tell where one fairway is from another. Oddly the greens are in great shape and super slow.

Got the weirdest phonecall back after leaving a phone message. Bad sound and very creepy.felt like a scam. We booked elsewhere on the shore where we could speak to a real person.

The food was amazing! They had live entertainment. The restaurant and bar have a fantastic ocean view. There is a variety of rooms and cabins to stay in. Bunnies wander the property. You can get rabbit food at the front desk. We enjoyed our stay so much, we booked another weekend.

Positives: Beautiful resort on the ocean and a lake. It was nice that they had entertainment at night. The resort felt very safe and was clean. The buffet was nice and the servers were great! The manager of the resort (Dylan Meisner) was very friendly, helpful and had excellent listening skills/customer service skills!

Unfortunate facts: We went off-season (April) and the prices were too high! Beds were too small (they should be 2 Queens NOT doubles, considering the price of the accomodations).
Don't buy the $16 nachos! They are basically baked tostitos with a tiny amount of cheese only some and a TBSP of salsa. Bland and a small serving compared to other places.
The manager at Elliot's Diner (Brendan Leaman) was TERRIBLE. I'm so surprised Whitepoint still has him employed there. Maybe he knows one of the managers there or is a relative to someone there and that's how he gets away with being so disrespectful? Who knows? ! Somehow my reservations were not saved and when I called to get it sorted out he was very rude, cut me off mid sentence 4 times during the call, talked over me, raised his voice and had the attitude "too bad". He didn't even listen to the details of the situation and took no accountability to help find solutions. I have never experienced customer service this bad in a restaurant before.ever!
The games room was small and crowded (similar to the pool). 2 of the pool cues were broken, and the ping pong equipment was in rough shape.
The TV in the room was tiny. Overall, the food was okay but nothing above any regular chain food restaurant.
Definitely not a 5 star resort but you certainly pay 5 star pricing!
As much as we would love to support local, we get much more value for our money in Cape Breton and PEI.

Fingers crossed that Liscomb Lodge will be better under new ownership!

This is only a review on the corn/seafood chowder. As a Nova Scotian I’m embarrassed that White Point is serving this to visitors. The only seafood I could detect in it was overcooked pungent smoked salmon which shouldn’t be in chowder anyway. It was thickened and luke warm. Served with slightly stale what I think was supposed to be cornbread. Please remove it from the menu until it’s better than hospital cafeteria or quarterdeck food.

Stunning beachfront resort. Great staff and food. Main lodge has welcoming fireplaces, incredible folk art and awesome views.

"Not always a great day at White Point"

We've been going a few times a year for the past 4-5 years and always loved our getaways but the last number of stays have not been great. Most notable is the front desk staff who always seem inconvenienced when you ask them a simple question. The recreation person was nowhere to be found this past visit and when paged was clearly less than thrilled to have to come and help us. Our most pleasant interaction with staff was with the groundskeeper!

It's unfortunate because it detracts from the otherwise great property.

Update 2022: seems like there has been a bit of staff turnover and better experience this time around thankfully

This restaurant was really delicious. They have a good variety of food and beverages. We all enjoyed something different. We had a little one with us, and were able to accommodate her well. The server was great, we had to send back one item, but when it came back, it was well cooked and delicious. We would definitely be back!

We had a fantastic 2 nights at White Point. The first was in a very comfortable lakeside suite and the second in an even more fabulous ’glome’! The rooms are well appointed. The glome really was wonderful to stay in even in the winter. No warmth issues in it at all. Can’t wait to come back and experience the future hot tubs too! We ate in the dining room and pub, both very good and good service. Front desk staff deserve a shout out too!

Enjoyed my stay at White Point in summer 2021. The beach is scenic and the amenities are great. However, given the price of accommodations I was quite unimpressed that there was no complimentary breakfast bar. Considering how there is nowhere near the resort to eat, it feels like a racket that they make you pay to eat breakfast in the restaurant.

The 'glomes' were an awesome experience, very nicely finished with all the amenities. They're quite private and have a nice view of the lake. The food on the resort was really good although the menu was relatively limited. Service is always great.

Great place for a quick getaway. I had never been here before. The lakefront rooms were your typical standard issue hotel rooms, but the lawn and lake they sat on was very quaint. The site had lots to explore, the cabins were rustic and very vibey of a 1960’s resort. The beach was very pretty and had a beautiful sunrise.
The main lodge is very nice, but lacks in the hospitality department. We had a reservation to for dinner, We ordered our drinks and food, drinks delivered right away, but waited for an hour for food with no offer of another drink while waiting. The staff were even setting up for breakfast service while we were still waiting for our dinners. When the meal finally arrived, it was bland at best. Seafood Risotto, the one scallop was sliced into medallions, giving the illusion it was full of scallops, the mussels and shrimp were over cooked and tough. I had a higher expectations for this restaurant. It took so long that we missed the entertainment in the bar (which closes at 10, everything closes at 10).
There were a higher number of young families than I expected here, we love kids, just didn’t expect so many to be around everywhere!
I highly recommend this place, but not for dinner, dinner was a total let down.

The most amazing place! The views are breathtaking! My favorite thing is to sit in the dining room and have a meal, while watching the waves roll in.

Had our wedding here in 2019. Married the love of my life. The location, food and accommodations were excellent. The coordination of the wedding by staff was disappointing. Felt very rushed. More than half of the food was leftover and asked if some guests could take some with them. But they said they have to feed their staff with that. Are you kidding me! We wanted it outside but there was a chance of rain. So instead of waiting a few minutes, we were rushed to get it done! I will not recommend this place for a wedding.

Came with my family and requested a window table at the restaurant. Multiple tables were available. When I say multiple there was 6 tables by the windows and the restaurant was almost empty. Because we had a toddler we where not allowed to be by the windows for some reason. Even when there was already an other family with two kids occupying a window table. The host told me because we have a toddler the policy is not to allow to be sited by the window. How about the other family?

Location can’t be beat! Enjoyed watching sunrises over the ocean and walking along the beach. We were blessed with beautiful weather so we even went swimming in the ocean. Really appreciated the fact that you were given bracelets once you showed proof of double vaccination. We stayed in one of the older cottages and it was fine. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening entertainment in the lounge. Jeff Bonner (?) was fantastic! Food was decent. Would stay here because we loved the location!

It looks beautiful to stay at. Unfortunately, booking is confusing. The website booking system reveals different details than the on-phone reservation customer service. I tried to book the Lakeside Glome and the reservation booking says it is pet friendly but the woman I spoke to on the phone said it's not pet friendly so I ultimately had to cancel. I asked if the Glomes would have hot tubs in January 2022 but they are not sure when they'll be delivered. Also the cancellation policy on my online reservation was different than what the woman on the phone told me (Different deadlines and different fees for cancellation). Overall, a long confusing conversation which led to me not booking in the end.

This was my childhood vacation spot. For about 6 summers I’d come up with my family and spend two weeks here feeding the rabbits, building sand castles on the beach, go boating on the lake, and eat delicious food with the wonderful staff who knew us by name. I was devastated to learn that the main building burned down but the new one looks great and once Covid is behind us for good I plan on coming up with with now my wife and kid hoping I can create the same memories for him that my parents did for me. If you want a relaxing and friends place that is wonderful for children I highly recommend White Point Beach Resort.

A place with the most extreme covid policies. Ignorance to facts, and complete disregard for flexibility in covid. Terrible policy management. Do not stay here. You will likely be turned away like many others at the door, and they won't refund your money when turned away. AVOID

We didn't stay at the resort therefore this review is only for the restaurant. We had lunch at the Elliot's dinning room and we were disappointed. We had to wait about 25 minutes to get our tap beer after reminding the server. Then the fish and chips we ordered seemed like were reheated from a previous order. The batter on the fish was soggy with no crunchiness and almost elastic. The server was nice and polite and had obviously no fault in this, however the Cook in charge during that time didn't do his job. Fish and chips are a staple food in Atlantic Canada hence people responsible for cooking it should put some care and diligence into it.

My stay here was amazing. The food was fantastic and the staff was lovely. There wasn’t 1 day where I wasn’t full. The cabin we stayed in was beautiful, cozy, and clean. The beach was phenomenal. Will definitely be returning!

Food, service and location were just ok and their reputation seems to be relying on days long past. If you are making a trip to the area and are looking for a truly outstanding experience then drive another 10min to the Quarterdeck. Food, service and facilities are clean, modern and top-notch. Very welcoming staff and management and the beach and scenery make White point's look like a dog's breakfast!

I go to to White Point multiple times a year with my family, great place, we love it. There is so much to do there, the food is great, and there are tons of activities for all ages. I recommend White Point to everybody. You'll leave with so many good memories, and will never want to go home.

We had booked an ocean front executive King Cabin. The most expensive on the list. As well we took the breakfast package.

We arrived Friday and checked in to our cabin. Upon entering the cabin I find a form on the table that states the bugs in the ceiling fans need to be cleaned. (STRIKE 1). This isn't something that made me feel super comfortable as a guest. Considering the price for this cabin was around 300$ per night. Also found a candy wrapper in the garbage but whatever. This just makes me question cleaning and covid protocols at this location and if they are being followed. But otherwise the cabin seemed pretty clean and modern.

Then as we unpacked and prepared to go for dinner, the handle almost fell off our front door as if someone just glued it back together. Had to go to the front desk and have this resolved. They did take care of this promptly and they were polite but still this was (STRIKE 2) when trying to have a relaxing time.

We were able to spend Friday night after all of this. But then Saturday after going to get lunch in Liverpool, we returned to a terrible sewage smell coming from the bathroom. We had smelled something earlier in the morning but thought maybe someone had just used the washroom. When we called we were told someone would come but we had to not be there due to covid. As we prepared to leave, another call came saying they couldn't do anything about said they could transfer us to another cabin and knock 50$ off my bill

Now I'm sorry, but for the price we pay to stay here. (would've been 700+) for everything for 2 nights, the fact that no matter what we would've been given would've been a huge downgrade for us, and we were only offered a 50$ discount is INSULTING! Given everything and how much money this place pulls in, the least they could've done was offered the downgrade for free. We had an issue with a stuck door at Oak Island and we were offered another room free for the night for the inconvience since we were being downgraded.

I dont know what's going on here but the management here has gone way down hill. I spent my honeymoon here 2 years ago and it was amazing. Now, I don't think I'll ever return Quarterdeck Resort is roughly 5kms down the road.

Also if anyone else Is booking those newer cabins. (60,61, or 602). There is still construction going on and the rocks are pilled so high in front that for an ocean front view all you can really see are the rocks. And theres a tiny pretty flower bed out front but the rest of the surrounding grounds look unkept and untidy. Also there is no access to the beach unless you want to climb over a couple of boulders. If your shorter then 6 feet tall and are sitting on the deck you will be lucky to catch a glimpse of the water.
Serious landscaping needs to be done before these places are worth what is being charged

All that being said, the girl at the front desk was polite and amazing and did everything she could. Though I had to wait a few mins as no one seems to know when someone approaches the front desk. She was just doing her job and it wasn't her fault these things happened so I didn't yell at her or anything. She handled it the best she could. Unfortunately management failed their employees on this one. I was credited for the night I didn't stay but at 5pm, the last thing I wanted to do was drive 2.5 hrs to get home the next day after arriving for a 2 day trip.

My point here is I felt insulted and disrespected by their offer. I didn't feel valued or appreciated as a guest or customer and can get, and have had, better management from other resorts in the area. Even for the one night I stayed I feel ripped off.

Food was decent. Service was slow. But when you have a team of kids who like to stand around and chat (I counted 7 people where you walk in to be seated into the dining room for a period of at least 5 mins minimum), within the views of customers, who don't seem to take the job seriously at all.

Glad, I read about the policy banning non residents of Nova Scotia. I'll definitely avoid this place on my trip out east. I'm astonished to hear that they are turning people away for such flimsy reasons, which are entirely not supported by public health guidelines.or you know.common sense.

The cabins are comfortable and welcoming, staff are friendly. Dorothea at the spa was a highlight of our trip, I highly recommend booking a treatment or massage when you make a reservation.

White point declined to honour gift certificate after covid travel restrictions prevented a stay. Covid has changed how a lot of businesses operate, unfortunately it has not changed white point for the better.

Wish I could give it a zero. Discriminatory and unethical. Had already booked and payed deposit and trip is now being cancelled because I have no Nova Scotia ID despite being here all year and having proof of address. Terrible service.

The cabin was extremely well laid out with modern fixtures. Excellent. However the food was less than satisfactory. The menu selection did not provide any items suitable for children, which is a staple income for the property

Pricy food, but my salad was good and the service was great! The view from the window is also very nice.

Extremely overpriced for a small, outdated cottage with no kitchen facilities, no A/C or ventilation, limited ocean view and poor layout. Dining experience was mediocre at best. Almost all activities and amenities were either reduced or cancelled (indoor pool, paddle boats to name a few) due to the pandemic with no reduction in price. WiFi was too weak to be usable. The outdoor "pool" is ok for kids wading. Their online marketing is very misleading. Do some research and check reviews online before booking. Would not recommend.

Don't eat here! Nice location but restaurant is terrible. Smallest portions ever. Had dinner and went to bed hungry and I am not a big eater. When you politely point out their failures, they just shrug their shoulders. Find another place to eat- maybe order pizza and have better food for $75 less.

Friendly staff - Bella at the front set the tone and made us feel like we were the most important guests to arrive. It's great place to get away and unwind and chill. The price for rooms is spot on. Just one thing to be aware of - the supper menu is pricy for the amount received and we found our orders bland. Ask for the lunch or bar menu (available at supper as well). Much better variety, more value for the dollar spent and definitely tastier.

Cabins are well kept and so are the grounds. Was very disappointed in their gluten selection, as I have a 6 year old with celiac. We stayed for 4 days and it took 2 days before they gave a gluten menu which we found out by someone else who was staying. They are gluten friendly and not free, which was very hard for my 6 year old because he had thrown up from eating the pasta. So he had to eat salad because he was scared to eat anything else. Other than that nothing was open for kids to do except the out door pool. We wanted to use the paddle boats but we were not allowed but just the kayaks. Traveling during this covid thing does suck but they did an excellent job of keeping everything clean.

Kids loved this place, and we all had a great time. Even with the indoor pool closed and only four at a time in the outdoor pool, they got in lots of swimming. The ocean is beautiful and not as cold as other beaches we've been on. There were tons of waves, so not good for the three year old, but fantastic for the older two. They also all enjoyed the restaurant food, which is a feat to achieve!

Beautiful location but freezing cold water unfortunately. Feeling like it's a great spot for a family with kids or larger groups.but for the small couples get away it's not as private as hoped. All in all a nice resort but just not for me.

Went there last night for date night and to have supper. First the music was great and that’s where the good ended. I had steak frittas with peppercorn sauce. It was the worst meal that I ever had. The sauce was tasteless and overall very bland. Not returning again. Didn’t complain at the time because I didn’t want them to think I was trying to get out of paying for the most expensive item on the menu. I know now that I should have

Service very bad. Restaurant very expensive. Some waitresses are not very helpful. The waitress we had just did not seem to care

I spent my anniversary with my significant other. He opted for the romance package which included chocolate, 2 bathrobes, champagne, roses, supper vouchers and a jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was a joke; basically a bath tub with holes in it. We didn't use it. The rest was wonderful but way over priced. The cabin was super neat with a wonderful fireplace. Our cabin unfortunately was dirty when we moved the couch (to be closer to the fireplace), towels had stains (and a dead bug on the bath mat), and there was a dirty bath robe hanging on the back of our bedroom door. The lodge and restaurant were so beautiful. The front desk and rec staff were super friendly and very pleasant, but our waitress for supper was not and she was basically non existent during our dinner. The food was definitely more quantity than quality. The proximity of everything was great. The beach was just phenomenal but this place is really over priced. We probably won't be back and won't recommend it to others.

Very disappointed. Ended up leaving a day early. Cottage was of a very poor standard. Was certainly not the relaxing environment I expected. Nothing was open, such as boats etc. Only the main building with pool etc. Not much to do especially for a family. Won't go bck

Great location and geography. Dated accommodations, but excellent family fun. Food leaves a but to be desired, as does service. Still, the geography allows you to overlook the flaws.
