Words fail to adequately describe the quality of the hospitality we found here. Our hosts Sarah and Andrew treated us like favorite old friends. The upstairs lodging combined its 100 year old pedigree with comfortable modernities and thoughtful touches. Dinner was pure goodness with clever artistry. Breakfast was delicious and enough to be lunch too. They recycled my aluminum and stocked us with ice and gave unstintingly of their Nova Scotia insider knowledge. The area is remote and gorgeous. The prices are more than reasonable. A hidden gem for sure.

The most exceptional meal we have ever eaten, in an atmosphere comfortable for rural Nova Scotians.

Thank you for the opportunity for us to try such cuisine, without feeling out of place.

10/10 and will return.

We had come to WC many times in the past before they morphed to a fixed supper menu. There food was always stellar so we were anticipating something special (at 70$/person + drinks + tax+tip). Sadly the experience was hit and miss: - (We chose to have everything on the menu (there are 2 options for each course) and exactly half the items were misses. For the apps, the tortelini was awesome - great flavors, nice presentation - but the alternate app - miso soup with honey chicken wings - couldn't finish it. The miso was very sweet and had an unpleasant smoky taste; matched with sweet wings that were unremarkable, the combo was really not up to par. Next came the mains. The flounder over wild greens was excellent but the paella was just meh (small portion, rice clumpy, not all that flavorful). Lastly deserts - the ice cream and fresh berries was great but the pavlova was a fail (the meringue was not properly cooked and turned into a kind of gummy mass in your mouth). Service was great but the food was just not up to par (given the 200$+ price). This is the 1st time we are not left wanting more. Maybe was just an off night in the kitchen?

Easily one of the best dinners we had in our month-long east coast adventure. Our family of 3 had the pleasure of staying in one of their rooms upstairs which includes a queen bed, foldout couch, ensuite with shared access to a lounge with mini fridge.

Clean, comfortable, surprisingly quiet despite being over a busy restaurant, with beautiful views of the sunset over Advocate Harbour. The stay included breakfast which felt like such a special, private dining experience. You can spot Sarah harvesting from the garden beds with baby in tow in preparation for dinner.

They are currently building cabins nearby and we plan to return from Toronto again. Highly recommend staying a while, walking Advocate Harbour at low tide, and daydreaming by the basalt rocks behind the lighthouse at Cape d’Or (where you can sometimes spot dolphins and seals).

Great dinner here. One of the very best we have had in Nova Scotia. I was really impressed with the quality of the ingredients and the skill of preparation. Service was wonderful!

The best food using local produce and meats. The service is beyond amazing, and super friendly staff. It feels like family there.

Today is January 29,2023. We drove all the way from Sackville NB because your website said you were open, and closed at 3 and open again at 5. When we drove in the yard there was another New Brunswick car there and the lady said the same thing. She came because the website indicated you were open. Very

Wonderful, delightful restaurant with very good food and excellent service in nearly the middle of nowhere. If you’re in the Advocate/Parrsboro area, coming here is a must. Make a reservation for dinner.

Dinner is a well conceived and executed multi-course dinner, that doesn’t drag—the food is great and the service and pacing excellent.

What a pleasant surprise in this tiny town. The chef obviously enjoys their craft and it showed in every piece of the menu.

This is a provisional 5-star based on one very important thing: they need to make the ticketed events 12+ years of age. We booked an anniversary date night at a culinary destination restaurant so screaming babies are not appropriate. Simply mention this role while booking and the annoyance and disappointment for all the other guests will be gone. The food will be center stage once again.

The rest of the review: foraging menu was excellently creative. We drove 3 hours to try this place and the whole time we were worried that we might have over committed. As of the appetizer course we knew it wasn't a mistake.

There are so many factors that go into a meal like this and a whole heck of intangible value too - timings, horticulture, preparation skill, confidence, staff, etc. Ultimately it's all pulled off in a creative and relaxed way but I know it takes a lot of planning and work to make this good for the guests.

Kudos to the team who made this an experiential meal and a highlight of our vacation.

. But no young children please.

A hidden gem for sure! Food is delish every time, prices are beyond reasonable and the service is excellent! We usually make an effort to go at least twice a year and it's always worth the trip.
