The hotel is brand new, and the room was large and clean. The location can’t be beat. We used the spa for the hydrotherapy circuit and it was great. However, it was the small things that made the difference. There are no hooks to be found anywhere in the room, it’s winter so our stuff was everywhere. No cream or sugar for coffee, and there were issues with the television - when it’s winter, and everything is closes at 6pm, it would’ve been nice to have something to watch. Overall, we would use the spa again.

Spacious room, friendly staff, Starbucks accessible from hotel lobby and spa is part of the hotel. Great to have complementary shuttle service available as we explored local wineries and then went to a local restaurant for dinner later in the evening.

Braised short rib was terrible.

They said deluxe room … hahaha …. Nope

Location was great!
19 December 2023 22:41
Service was great and very friendly staff. We got upgrade as well and would love to come back

Such a lovely little hotel. Our room was very spacious and beautiful, service went above and beyond and it’s very conveniently located. The spa is absolutely wonderful.

Lovely little hotel, clean, beautiful big room, coffee machine, huge shower!
Would definitely stay again in the future when I visit Niagara on the lake again!

What an absolute beyond lovely experience. We were greeted by a very pleasant and professional front desk attendant, Megan. She was accommodating, personable, and went above and beyond. We learned when we checked in that we had been upgraded at no extra charge. It was a moms-only getaway, so it just set the tone for a much needed girls getaway. The place was one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever been to. The other front desk attendant (I didn’t get her name unfortunately) personally walked us over and showed us the villa. She then personally walked over a third housecoat and slippers. The spa was one of the coolest experiences. We stayed the full 2 hours, laughing having drinks and reconnecting. The snow room was one of my favourite parts. Dinner at NOTL was phenomenal. We had the most amazing waiter there. I’m awful with names but he was a young man (19yrs) and was super personable and again, accommodating.
Overall, the service was above and beyond. Even when checking out, the wonderful Megan offered us a water for the drive home! Can’t wait to come back!

Wedding & Planning Experience

Overall a good experience, but lots of room for improvement for 124Q.

Issues that we experienced with 124Q, planning our wedding at The Gate House:

The Wedding Day.

Seating configuration. The floorplan, table numbers, and place cards were set up very differently than we had planned and confirmed multiple times with our coordinator leading up! This absolutely should not have happened. We even brought a hard copy of the floor plan on the morning of and left it with our coordinator to ensure the seating would be done correctly and it wasn't. This said, It was hugely disappointing to have our seating plans be completely disregarded. Future couples - do everything in your power to ensure this is triple checked, and then checked again on the day of. Consider having your own coordinator to work with them as well.

Tasting vs Wedding Day Food. Specific to the Salmon, we had two completely different versions. At our tasting, the salmon was pan seared, skin side up, crispy and buttery. At the wedding, the salmon looked baked, pink, and was skin side down. This was disappointing given the purpose of doing a tasting, and how excited we were about the initial dish. Future Couples - make a point of taking pictures at the tasting as we did, and if you like the salmon, ensure that they commit to cooking exactly as done at the tasting.

Preparing for the Wedding.

In general, the communication with our coordinator throughout the planning process was inadequate.

Simple emailing back and forth to confirm items felt like a challenge. Multiple emails went unanswered for days, in some cases weeks, forcing us to continually follow up and chase information.

Missing information in emails. As an example, we asked for info and materials like photos of tableware, photos of seating, direct contact information (multiple times), none of which was sent.

Changes were made without notice. One example would be the price of a bottle changing on the BEO without being advised.

Scheduled meetings were also a challenge as there were instances where our coordinator was not present or on time.

While there were several issues as stated, there are some positive highlights that we’re happy to share as well:

The food in general was amazing! As we knew it would be. All of the feedback has been great with regards to all of the food. Thank you to the kitchen!

The service in general was great – bartenders, table service, desserts coming out, late night coming out. The service team was excellent. They also helped with coordinating entrances, lighting, pulling back curtains, etc.

Our vendors had a great experience working with the team there to get all set up as needed.

The venue is beautiful and space in general was always clean. The bathrooms were clean. When there was a spill it was cleaned promptly.

For us, and most wedding couples, this was the most important day of our life, and as such, we did our best to be as thorough and detailed as possible when planning, but ultimately, we need to rely on the execution team when the day comes. In the end, we feel that some very important aspects fell short of expectation, and that many of these issues could have easily been avoided with better communication, organization, and attention to detail.

We hope that by addressing this feedback, future couples can have a flawless experience so that they and their guests can enjoy the celebration to the fullest.

This hotel is absolutely perfect. The rooms are the cleanest I have ever seen. The staff is super friendly, and the food was great. Couldn't ask for a better stay.
03 August 2023 4:56
This is a must visit place. Just for the atmosphere, fabulous cocktails, engaging staff a real treat. I have not stayed there as I live in town but I can only imagine they will be well appointed if the patio, bar/restaurant area is any indication.
19 June 2023 21:23
We stayed only one night but the hotel
Was great. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to check out the spa amenities, but we enjoyed Delicious cocktails in the lounge, made by Rick. He was great! Went above and beyond.
25 May 2023 9:59
My sister and I greatly enjoyed our stay at 124 on Queen Hotel & Spa. The room was a generous size and the entire atmosphere of the hotel was lovely. We had the best facials at the spa and everyone we met at the hotel from the front desk to the bar to the spa were top notch.
22 May 2023 4:15
We had a lovely time at 124 on Queen for our mama’s weekend. The spa was luxurious, the restaurant was delicious and the rooms were spacious and clean. I highly recommend it!
15 May 2023 3:57
Fantastic! I spent 2 nights! I enjoyed both nights! ️ Tell them Anthony the Charter Bus Driver sent you!?
12 May 2023 13:04
Excellent experience at 124 on Queen. The staff here are incredible. Very welcoming and hospitable. The grounds and space itself are beautiful. The cocktails and food are even better if you can believe.

If you are lucky to have Kaya as your bartender, you’re in for a treat. We will be back for sure.
30 April 2023 20:59
Beautiful hotel, great location, super friendly staff, amazing spa, all around great place to book!
Clean modern rooms and oveall great hotel.
24 April 2023 6:02
The best hotel for hospitality, service and amenities. Loved the L'occitane products & when we requested a top up, we were given twice as much as requested. There was no housekeeping service as still under Covid restrictions. The restaurant, Treadwell, is excellent and so is the spa. We plan on revisiting in early summer.
06 April 2023 11:48
From the minute we got out of the car, our experience at the hotel and with the staff at 124onQueen was amazing! They were kind, efficient and a pleasure to speak with. The room we stayed in was immaculate and the beds were so comfortable. I had booked the Water Circuit with a friend in their beautiful spa, what a luxurious experience! The spa was clean, and had everything we needed to be comfortable. We also had the opportunity to eat at Treadwell which was incredible and delicious! This hotel is in the PERFECT location on the main street and walking distance to shops and bakeries and, of course the lake! What a great weekend getaway! I highly recommend this hotel and spa for your next Niagara-on-the-Lake vacation.
16 March 2023 11:15
I’ll start off with what was positive about our stay: the staff. The staff is friendly, and goes out of their way to help make your stay comfortable. Aman at front desk couldn’t have been nicer, she was great.

HOWEVER, we paid 500 for stay that included the hydro therapy and breakfast. The experience was not worth anywhere near that price.

When we arrived we were told that our room is in a different building than the spa and main hotel. We booked the hotel bc we wanted to use the spa facilities and stay in the same building. We were annoyed but as I said the staff was kind and tried their best.

The room was simple and slightly outdated. Nothing particularly nice or bad about it. Until night time when we realized that there was a very loud sound coming from the fridge that would go on and off throughout the entire night keeping us entirely awake for the whole night. It was a loud buzzing sound that made it impossible to sleep.

As for the spa experience- again the spa staff were clearly overwhelmed but were very helpful. Given the amount they charge for the hydro therapy there are a few basics that would be expected- clean floors, a relaxing quiet atmosphere and enough loungers to relax in.
The locker room had hair all over the floor. There was a used q tip on the counter. There were no sandals available. The hot tub had things floating in it. Small pieces of something I’m scared to even think about what. The space was very crowded and loud. People were talking loudly and made no effort to minimize voices. They can easily control the number of ppl as it is a timed experience but it was crowded and loud. There are only a few lounge chairs and not enough for everyone so if you want to take a break you just have to stand.

If you want to use gym facilities they don’t let you use lockers so you have to walk over to the gym in your workout gear from the other building) which can be cold in the winter, and come back to your room to shower after wards.

This was an over priced room, spa and experience overall. Very unfortunate.
06 March 2023 1:26
The spa is fantastic. Went for a little baby moon, and added on the sound bath and reiki meditation. I felt so relaxed and recharged afterwards. It was such a great experience! And a beautiful spa.
01 March 2023 6:18
Great location, friendly staff, with high quality furnishings. Very clean throughout and the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again when we come back to visit.
28 February 2023 18:51
LOVED our stay at 124 on Queen! We had one night here as a little staycation, and it was the perfect spot to enjoy the long weekend. The hotel is gorgeous, really modern and design-forward. The staff were great and check-in and check-out were seamless. The location is perfect, right on the main strip in downtown NOTL. It was just a really beautiful spot, super clean and comfortable. We'll definitely be back!
26 January 2023 2:45
My fiancee and I spent the weekend at 124 on Queen and cannot speak more highly of the accommodations, service and attention to detail! The hotel was able to accommodate our room request and even helped me secretly set up the room for our proposal.

We stayed in the Deluxe King Room and it was by far the nicest hotel room we've ever stayed in. Everything at this hotel has been thought about down to the fancy alarm clocks in each room. The location cannot be beat and the proximity to the historic district was very convenient. We also had the opportunity to visit the spa during our stay which was beautiful and well maintained. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying at Niagara-on-the-Lake!
07 January 2023 22:12
Gorgeous, modern hotel and spa. Loved everything about it, including the super friendly staff. Will definitely be back.
31 December 2022 20:14
Came to Niagara on the Lake since neither of us have been in 20+ years. Was also our first getaway all year. Did not disappoint. Hotel was very nice with clean rooms and dare I say.to many pillows for once (trust me it's not a bad thing).

The spa was absolutely amazing and just what we needed. Between the Swedish massages followed by 2 hours in the sensory area. Was an experience almost like no other and one of my favorites. Relax in the many warm and cold areas to give your body what most are lacking. The steam room is especially amazing. Even if not staying at the hotel, booking a few hours there should be on your list when visiting the area. Price wise it was great as well with the sensory area only being a small add on to the massage.
10 December 2022 5:59
First off, it is very confusing to find given their location and signage is not helpful at all as the various rooms are spread between different buildings on Queen St. We supposedly had a Deluxe King Accessible for the price of $507. First off, the accessible meant nothing to us as we never asked for it and when we checked in (on our feet), no one said it was a wheelchair room. The room had NO character whatsoever! It was cold, no decoration and barren. No carpet, just vinyl flooring (wood-like but again cold and unattractive. The bathroom had NO character and only basic amenities. The view, was of the FOODLAND ROOF. The bathroom door was supposedly an automatic door for wheelchair access but it was BROKEN and weighed a tonne to open and you could not prop it open. While there was a coffee/tea machine, there was no tea. Again, I have never stayed in such a boring unattractive room for $500. We have travelled the world and are frequent quests in Toronto and NOL. WE have stayed in FAR BETTER hotels in both cities with FAR better rooms and better amenities for less money. There is nothing redeeming about this property. We would not stay there again unless the room was significantly better at a better price-point. The only redeeming factor is the staff was pleasant. BE VERY CAREFUL!
08 November 2022 18:12
Absolutely beautiful place to stay! Great location. Plenty of space for underground parking. We stayed in a Signature King room. These rooms are very spacious. Comfortable bed, great amenities, and quiet rooms. They did a great job with the renovations. The fitness room is small but has a really nice selection of both cardio and weights. The spa is incredible! We only had about 45 minutes to enjoy the hydrotherapy wellness circuit first thing in the morning before heading on a wine tour, but I would come back just to spend time at the spa. There is the opportunity to order small food items and drinks while relaxing in their sauna, steam room, hot tub, or pool. Perfect place for a girl’s weekend or couple’s getaway. I’ve stayed at the Vintages hotels which are similarly priced, and while those places are wonderful too, I will choose 124 on Queen anytime I return to NOTL.
29 October 2022 10:47
The staff we friendly and very helpful. My friend and I went for a wine tour, they took our bags and had them in our room when we returned. Additionally, they carried our boxes of wine purchases to our room. We visited the brand new bar prior to dinner and it was very nice and the two staff were friendly! The room was a double king! Huge room and washroom - newly renovated and comfy beds. We will be back!
23 October 2022 23:28
Room was nice, service was poor. I would expect more from a boutique hotel. To begin, our room was not ready at check in time. The Fire place was not working. Toilet would not stop running. When we wanted to make coffee in the morning, there was only decaf and no sugar or creamer. In the evening when we called the front desk in need of an extra blanket, because the blanket on the sofa bed is thin and the fireplace wasn’t working, no one came to bring one.
17 October 2022 12:20
It was an excellent stay. The hotel was well-maintained. The décor was very nice and the staff were extremely responsive to everything that we needed. I would sincerely recommend this adorable hotel. The location is perfect in a beautiful town filled with cute shops and many options to shop and dine.
24 September 2022 3:05
We were positively impressed by hotel rooms and hight quality of customer service. Located on the main street, spa on the site- book in advance. Close to nice restaurants, underground car park.
12 September 2022 2:42
Connected to the Starbucks on one side and Treadwell on the other, right on Queen. Great location. Newly built suites, underground parking, electric vehicle charging. Suites are beautiful, lots of room. Service is great too, everyone is very friendly and helpful. Already booked another stay.
05 September 2022 17:16
Signature Room was outstanding. The hotel decor is gorgeous, service is great and location is perfect.
21 August 2022 9:41
Spent a night in one of the new signature deluxe king rooms. Although we were given what is undoubtedly the worst room in this category - right by the doorway to the lobby and overlooking the raised skylight for the basement spa - it was still a great space. The style is contemporary and chic, and the room was nicely equipped with a fridge, sink, marble rain shower, L’Occitane bath amenities, robes, and an extremely comfortable bed.

According to the lady who showed us to our room, the new wing has been open for 4 months but it still feels like a work-in-progress. The walls are bare in both the hallways and room - the only art in the room is in the bathroom. The bathroom is missing towel hooks. They are also finishing what appears to be a bar area.

The location is amazing and underground parking right in the middle of the town is a luxury, to be sure.

Besides the room location, my other reason for taking off a star is the service. Although the staff is warm and friendly, they seem inexperienced. We arrived about an hour before check-in and was told we would be called when our room was ready. However, the call never came so we returned at 4pm and, lo and behold, our room was ready. We also requested forks and spoons when returning to our room with dessert, which never came.

Hopefully they will work out these kinks in the months ahead, in which case we will consider returning.

This is specifically for the spa:
The spa amenities were amazing but they are doing a soft open right now, it might not be open yet but they did it the weekend we were there to test things out.

I had a massage from Shawn and his style of massage is exactly what I liked. It was active release. He focused on my areas that needed work and also taught me some stretched to help me with my tension. He was very passionate about his work.

The overall stay was great and the beds were very comfortable, the only thing I would critique are the pillows. They were very puffy and made you feel like your head was on a incline the whole time you sleep. I personally did not like that style of pillow as I’m mostly a back sleeper.
07 June 2022 12:44
Best massage I have ever had. My wife and I had a couples massage and although my massage was amazing hers was not. Unfortunately his technique was abrupt movement with heavy breathing that even I could hear. The Inn is going through a beautiful makeover that we could not hear once the elevator doors closed. I would definitely go back.
27 May 2022 8:35
We had an absolutely wonderful weekend. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms and it was excellent. The cedar linings in the closets was a little unexpected luxury that my wife definitely appreciated. The room is like a 1 bedroom apartment with an oversized en suite bathroom as well as a smaller one beside the kitchen. The hotel is exceptionally clean and the staff were/are very helpful and accommodating. They took care of every request cheerfully and rapidly. The new underground garage was bright, clean and easy to access. We did not use the Spa but that also looked beautiful. The location is ideal with a Starbucks on site and Treadwell's restaurant next door is our favourite in town dining location.
06 May 2022 16:25
Great hotel great room. Friendly customer service. We also got massages at the spa, very new and modern
22 April 2022 15:14
This hotel is lovely, beautifully designed and decorated and the location is perfect to enjoy everything that NOTL has to offer. I completely messed up our booking and the staff was just lovely and so helpful and friendly and found a room for us (despite us showing up a week early due to my error!) The rooms are well appointed and there’s a lot of attention to detail. It’s overall great value for your money. I will definitely stay here again!
18 July 2021 7:23
This looks like a great place to stay with kitchenettes in every room. Save money on going out for dinner by making it yourself in your room.
23 June 2021 4:56
Top notch hotel with all the character and beauty of the city vintage hotel chain but with a modern touch. The buildings are quaint and amenities are luxurious without being pretentious. My new favourite hotel!
01 May 2021 4:48
We stayed at 124 on Queen on the weekend and had a beautiful renovated room and great service despite Covid. We knew that the hotel had not been open prior to the weekend and hence no one had stayed in our room immediately before us. The room was very clean and we were of course aware that no cleaning would be done to the room during our 2 night stay given the pandemic restrictions. We found the room to be impeccably clean as was the bathroom with 2 sinks and a large rainfall shower head (and a standard shower) which featured large, thick bath towels and several hand towels + Occitane products. We were asked by the concierge upon arrival if she could book us lunch or dinners as very few restaurants were open for in-house dining. They provided us with a list of recommendations for lunch as fortunately we had already reserved dinner at their sister restaurant, Treadwell's. We received a large paper bag outside our door with beautiful croissants/pains au chocolat, yogurt with granola, eggs on English muffins and orange juice both mornings of our stay. The reception also phoned on the 2nd morning to see if we needed any extra towels or anything else. There was also a spa affiliated with the hotel that seemed to be open, although we did not book any services with them. The whole weekend was SO special-all the more so given that we have been trapped inside our home since November. I would HIGHLY recommend this wonderful boutique hotel!
21 December 2020 4:06
Nice location, parking was free, decent room, breakfast was ok (standard sandwich, yogurt, juice/coffee). Wifi and phone didn’t work, asked twice to check it out but nobody ever resolved it so had to use data. Was pretty expensive for what we got. Overall it’s ok, if service was better would have been fully worth it.
30 November 2020 15:30
Above and Beyond. That’s really the best way to put it. We’ve been privileged enough to stay in many nice hotels, and while we tend to take for granted that they will all have nice sheets, comfortable beds, posh bathrooms, and so on, it really is the service and attention to detail at 124 on Queen that sets it apart in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Every staff member we interacted with went out of their way to make us feel like they were extremely grateful that we chose to stay at their place, and we were treated throughout our stay like honoured VIP guests.

The only suggestion I have is regarding the in-room coffee. I think they should include a Nespresso type machine, which is easy enough to manage and provides pretty decent coffee, as the basic in-room percolator’s results fell a little short in the flavour department. Other than that, all was wonderful!
24 November 2020 6:25
The room was beautiful, comfortable, lovely, but, our car got towed, in the morning, miscommunication on where the parking is, construction going on cause they are expanding apparently 3 other people in the hotel got their cars towed as well. If you go are going make sure the parking they tell you is clear, we are trying to get them to pay for the tow. $490 dollars to get the carout of the yard they were not clear on the parking areas to go to
10 November 2020 14:34
The hotel is in a great location within walking distance to everything on NOTL. The room was well decorated and felt clean and cozy. The bed was comfy and so were the pillows. Since it was during COVID the continental breakfast was not as good as I imagine it could be (ie.no milk for your coffee, & no protein) but COVID changes everything we do, so it was nice to at least get what we got.
28 October 2020 16:41
Construction started at 7: 30am. Now I know why they have made available ear plugs. In room fridge is not cold at all. Why have one?
04 October 2020 6:07
Great place to stay and enjoy Niagara on the lake. Close to everything. The only thing is that due to COVID-19 they provide a continental style breakfast that doesn't have any protein and it's not filling at all. But the food at their restaurants and cafes are great, highly recommend.
19 August 2020 10:11
Great Location. We had the 2 bedroom suite. Beautiful clean rooms and excellent customer service.
19 August 2020 9:59
We used the Spa on 124 Queen. We had regular pedicures done. Very pricy - $73 for regular pedicure. There was nothing special or one bit of added effort to this expensive pedicure. Not worth spending money there, save your money and have it done anywhere else.
26 April 2020 0:34
We came to Niagara on the Lake for our wedding anniversary and Valentine's Day last year and had an amazing time at a different hotel. We thought, based on reviews, that this place would be better while being closer to downtown than we were last year. We were very wrong and won't stay here again. Issues so far (we are only a few hours in and unfortunately have two nights to survive and will likely leave early)

1) it's under construction and we were not warned of this before we booked. Parking is very confusing and even our wine tour guide complained about how bad it is because they were late to get us

2) the bed is so uncomfortable. When we got into it, we sank in the middle so much so that our legs are higher than our heads

3) the tv doesn't work. We don't have cable at home and always chose a place with cable as an indulgence so we are very bummed about this. We have had three people come to help us but can't get it to work for more than a few minutes so be warned there is not not reliable tv

4) we paid to have chocolate covered strawberries waiting in our room and it was pricey. We arrived to raw strawberries dipped in chocolate which are inedible. When we complained they told us there is nothing they can do but didn't offer not to charge us so we are paying for literal garbage.

5) here is no bathtub! It's freezing and I can't get warmed up. I was shocked. I can't believe how outdated the room is in comparison to the price. This is such a disappointing and expensive romantic weekend. There are several better places for cheaper. Or at least places that will respond appropriately to your concerns. Buyer beware.

Update: we checked out because we tried to shower and couldn’t get hot water. The hotel experience ruined our anniversary
18 March 2020 18:32
Very quaint and very clean. Very much enjoyed our weekend away at this place.
Would absolutely stay here again no questions asked.
06 February 2020 0:18
Stayed on a Saturday night in a two-bedroom villa with 6 girlfriends. We had an incredible time! The room was clean, cozy and perfect for a girls night away. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could need and more! The beds were extremely comfortable. We had breakfast at the Gate House the next morning and that was delicious again. We will definitely be back!
14 January 2020 10:39
Had a lovely stay with some friends a few weeks ago! The room was spacious and cozy. I enjoyed the warm/soft blankets spread throughout the apartment. Went to the Gate House for a delicious breakfast.
02 January 2020 3:30
Great weekend away with 3 friends. The spa day was wonderful and so relaxing. Had facials, pedicures and manicures. Had an amazing dinner at Treadwells which is part of 124 on Queen. Our hotel suite was luxurious. Will be back for sure!
01 January 2020 15:34
The spa experience was not that great. It is overpriced for what wss offered, next time will avoid this place.
28 December 2019 1:27
Hotel is great. Nice location. Booked a spa treatment on checkin. Unfortunately, woke up sick and had to cancel several hours before the treatment. Despite being ill they still charged me for the treatment. Very disappointing given that they likely rebooked the spot. Check-in experience was also annoying.
23 December 2019 22:17
We came down from Niagara Falls to visit the spa and had an amazing experience. The staff are very friendly and we loved the atmosphere, which was very calming. It's on the main street so we were able to go for a walk afterward to the water and go into the different shops. I would 100% recommend this spa (couples, the A Time For Us package is worth ever penny!).
01 September 2019 6:26
I did not stay the night, my husband and I went for a 60 min couples massage. Amenities are great and clean. Atmosphere is very relaxing. My husband had never had a massage before and loved the experience. Both of our massage therapists were fantastic. Both were great about focusing on our problem areas (both my husband and I have issues with our shoulders). My husband and I plan on definitely returning. I would 100% recommend them.
15 January 2019 23:34
Must say I was at the spa today a massage given to me as a Christmas gift. I didnt walk out going wow. Had a relaxation massage in Nov at my chiropractors office and a Therapeutic Massage in Dec there too and both times walked out feeling like a million bucks. First visit to a "spa" was not to impressed.
27 December 2018 16:24
5+ probably in summer, but we had cold bathroom. Definitely not our "fav" in autumn/winter. Friendly helpful staff. Not a bargain, but very nice. One block to theatre! Good restaurant.
