This was a surprise find for us. The service was excellent. This restaurant surpassed only by the quality of the food. If you ever have the opportunity, definitely stop in and try it. The prices were extremely reasonable. I am told the chef is a lady and I will tell you she is tops.

Delicious sandwich. Good friendly service. Used to be more than double the meat though. I order the grimsby smoke every month or so. I've noticed they have really cut back on the protein. Needs a bit more to be balanced.

Our go-to stopover sandwich and soup shop! Every time we skip town to drive to Niagara, we pull off the highway just for their delicious and fresh sandwiches. Despite our infrequent visits, every time we've gone there's been a constant stream of locals coming in for takeout. Don't you love it when you stumble upon one of those best-kept town secrets?

We ordered take out lunch and have to say it was FANTASTIC! The sandwiches were fresh, flavourful and delicious. Absolutely would order again.

I absolutely love the food and the breakfast sandwiches are amazing. I have a minor issue with the service. This is the 3rd time that this happened, yesterday being the most recent. I was patiently waiting for my order in the morning. There was another guest waiting for his ahead of me. When his order was up, the server went out of their way to leave the counter and hand the order to the guest. For me, the order was haphazardly handed to me over the counter. This happened on three occasions with a similar situation. Having been in the service industry for many year, staff should be aware of how these micro-aggressions could be perceived. I will still order your beautiful food but probably will have my partner pick it up since he says he always gets excellent service.

Staff were attentive, happy and cooking staff were singing. Prices were reasonable for fresh food. I paid with cash but other options are available with cards. The front counter area is small if they are busy, you may have to wait outside for your order. The parking lot was packed when I visited at lunch time, be aware of limited parking. Service was quick and you can call in for your order. If you are in time crunch, recommended. I ordered a Chicken club which was awesome. They also support local charity.

Every month or so me and a friend come from Hamilton to enjoy a sandwich. Always great and reasonably priced. Thanks.

Everything here is good, every single time I order. Make sure you sign up for the emails so you get a preview of the sandwiches/theme of the week, plus the Speakeasy sandwich! I just wolfed down a very tasty chicken sandwich and it’s peach week… but I’ll leave the rest up for the imagination. ;) It’s always fresh, handmade ingredients and the staff are always lovely. Ordering online for pick up is always timely and fresh - never soggy.

270 Bench Kitchen is the place to go for delicious sandwiches! I ordered the Chickpea Smash and it was fantastic - generous filling, flavorful and on the freshest sourdough bread. I will definitely be back for more sandwiches, soups, salads and baked goods!

Had the Chicken Club & Turkey sandwich’s, both really good. Tomato chutney was great! Online service and ordering was simple and efficient. All around great experience

Every couple of months we make the drive out to Grimsby for these sandwiches. They are always so fresh and delicious and there are so many options, there are some vegan items too! Their bread, buns and baked goods are fantastic - the lemon brulee tart is absolute *perfection*

Amazingly delicious sandwiches, dessert squares, salads, and prepackaged ready to heat and eat dinners. We have had the prepackaged pulled pork and the smoked salmon with creamy dill penne, both were outstanding.

This may be my fault but I’m not pleased with my order today. I placed an online order for 2 sandwiches and a salad. When it asked for the bread selection the only option was (on greens). I did not understand this to be a salad. If there was no bread available then it should have stated no sandwiches available. I also did not receive my pickle with the order. I attempted to call the store but it had just closed. I normally enjoy the sandwiches

I live around the corner from this wonderful place. After more than 20 years living in Grimsby this is absolutely the best business that came to our little area on Bartlett - great people and great sandwiches what more could we ask for - would recommend this beautiful eatery to everyone - its some of the best sandwiches and bread among so many other great foods!

We catered for a small group of 10 people. Everyone was asking where we got the sandwiches from because they were so delicious. The salads were fantastic too! Highly recommend you use them for catering. Can't beat the price.

Missed the Hamilton location so figured it's been too long since I've had their sandwiches, so I made the trek to the original location. Still as great as they were. Wish you guys were out my way, but I don't mind making my way out for a treat now and then. Although I was saddened to hear the English muffins are no longer a thing. Those were amazing!

For twenty years I bemoaned the lack of a good bakery in Grimsby - no more! - the bread, the soups, the salads, everything here is above average.

I had just a half sandwich from my Mom's order. And I was absolutely amazed at the quality and presentation of the entire order.

My husband and I just enjoyed our first Bench sandwiches after a few months and they were absolutely delicious (chicken club + egg salad). We forgot how amazing they are. You can't find bread like that anywhere else! Happy you guys are up and running again

Fresh sandwiches, great selection. Definitely a local gem. If only they offered more of a hot plate type food I would give it 5 stars.

Edit: Came back for another visit, after a few years, and man have they improved.they serve breakfast and their brisket just blew me away.definitely 5 stars this time!

Come a little closer friends and let me tell you the tale of this great sandwich. I fancy myself a sandwich aficionado so when I heard about this place I made sure I stopped by. I struggled with all of the great choices but settled with the daily special, a pork loin feature on the house potato olive sourdough. When it arrived I could not believe the how soft and fluffy the sourdough was and genuinely evaluated how I could go about making a pillow out of the stuff. The house made pork loin, along with everything else that was house made, was glorious: fresh, juicy, and flavourful, and paired beautifully with the heavily citric aïoli and fresh greens. That was a sandwich, friends. What a sandwich! I wish I could go back but they’re closed tomorrow. Next time.

This place consistently makes sandwiches that are incomparable to anywhere else. I had the feature sandwich: House Smoked Brisket, Kimchi, Herb Pesto & Sweet and Sour Carrots. It is a multi dimensional onslaught of flavour. I will never the same.and I've only eaten half.

The soups (only tried 2) are good but haven't blown me away, yet.

Top notch sandwiches made on your choice of house made bread. The grilled cheese and ham and swiss are my favorite. The first time I ordered one of their sandwiches, I was so excited to see a pickle included. Their prepared foods also look amazing, although I have yet to try any. Definitely on the pricey side but a nice treat every once in a while.

Great lunch spot for take out soup/sandwiches. Great homemade breads and condiments. Never been disappointed! It can get busy so be prepared to have to wait a bit, but well worth it!

The smoked tofu sandwich that I shared with my sister was so good. The bread is a sourdough and so good. The pickle that comes with the sandwich is the best I ever had.

So delicious! It's honestly hard to believe this place wasnt larger.they could totally pull it off. Friendly staff, decent prices and portion sizes that actually fill a very hungry man.

Wow.if you are on your way to Niagara Falls you have to stop there for a sandwich. Best sandwich I had in along time. Chicken club was delicious, the sourdough bread was a pure delicacy.

Amazing sandwich restaurant, while it can seem a little pricey at first you get your money's worth. Everything is made fresh and is delicious.

There is nothing like finding a gem in a funny little mall off a main road in the Niagara area. Walk in, or usually line up to squeeze into a fabulous sandwich shop and bakery where there are only 4 stools so hope for a nice day where there are 2 additional benches! No matter what, order half sandwiches as this way you can try more than one kind. I personally love this. I also let the staff decide which bread is best for which sandwich. Also, do not leave without a loaf for the next day. Ice tea, cookies, jams and more are also made in house. Go, then thank me!

I especially love the smoked beet sandwich or their beef with onion jam.but any sandwich is delicious on their house-made potato and olive oil bread!

Best sandwiches in town made on fresh sourdough. Meat and vegetarian options available. Bench Kitchen is a great place to grab a take-away lunch - there's very little seating room in the space to eat in.

This place is really exceptional. Since I started visiting Grimsby 5 years ago, and now live here, Bench has become one of, if not our favourite spot in town. Only the best local and fresh ingredients, bread made in house, and a great little selection of local condiments. These guys hands-down make the best sandwich the side of Toronto. If you live in town or are just passing through, you can’t miss this spot.

This is the best sandwich shop in Niagara period. Their baked goods, soups and prepared foods are fantastic and the Holiday Catering menu options are top notch.
