2nd Time Around Tires

I usually avoid tire shops. I go to FB marketplace or Kijiji, ebay you know budgeting/being cheap, not caring for quality to some degree. Well this season I couldn't find anything in my size on FB or Kijiji. At least anything that wasn't a mystery tire from China that cost $6.29 to make while being marked up to $50/tire by some sketchy distributor. 2nd time around had a set of solid winters within the day and I was quoted $70 under my budget for installation and balancing as well.

Had an appointment the next day and I was over an hour late. I didn't get an ounce of attitude from anyone when I showed up even though it would be reasonable if they did (in my opinion). On top of that, they had the car serviced in well under 2 hours. I should mention, another client showed up for their appointment on time as I was apologizing for being late. Reasonably, my appointment was pushed. Not only did they take care of the client who showed up on time, they still had me on the road in a more than reasonable time.

Everything considered. I'm done buying from private sellers. These guys made the experience about as smooth as you could ask of them and I will certainly be returning for summers/all seasons when the time comes.

I only went for a tire repair. The staff were friendly, professional and efficient. I have used 2nd Time Around in the past and have always been satisfied with their service.

The crew at 2nd Time always takes care of my wheel/tire needs. Very helpful with wheel/tire suggestions as well as levelling kits. A few sets of wheels and many sets of tires installed here for my trailers, personal and commercial vehicles.

The best service service ever fair prices and very knowledgeable employees and remember customers by name the one and only place too go thank you keep up the great work guys!

An **excellent** place to get advice, quotes, and the purchase of your tires and rims. They have a great selection and will work to find what you want. Tom and all of the staff were without ego, extremely warm, patient, fair and accommodating working with my order of wheels and tires. This is the only place I will go. Excellent service, friendly staff that know exactly what they are doing.

Worst experience ever. I called them and they put me on hold for 48 minutes. I showed up to talk to someone in person and the owner shut the door on me and told me they were closing soon.

This is an excellent tire shop with great service. The owner is a standup guy who treats his customers extremely well. It’s a busy spot, but the service is outstanding. I highly recommend this place.

This review is approximately three or more months behind - shame on me. I was brand-new to Ontario on July 1,2022 (correction, having been AWAY from Ontario for over 15 years, living in USA, BC etc).

After an excruciating trip from BC (Canada Day weekend, an insane amount of traffic, booked hotels and motels (I could not find any accommodation except one fleabag motel for 190 - i couldnt do it; you had to see it to believe it, and CONSTRUCTION - "major" construction, up to half hour delays), I was about undone.

I am an elderly woman. The back of the SUV was fully loaded so I spent FOUR days in a 'sitting' position (napping sitting up too).

The reason I go into this detail is because I was like a wounded caged tiger. It would be best to keep your distance.literally. It was just the pain, combined with a great sense of being humbled.

2nd Time Around Tires met me at this time. Talk about real troopers. I needed to take off my winter tires (I had arrived in Calgary in April and was only supposed to be there until month end, but ended up much longer).

2nd Time Around took off the winters, sold me quality all-seasons and installed them. Even though I was frayed emotionally, and lacked any kind of patience, the young woman (and the gentleman) behind the counter maintained their professionalism, as well as cheerful manners.

The prices were very fair, the service impeccable, the attitudes a breath of fresh air, and an overall GOOD experience.

I don't know how they put up with me (they met me at my lowest state). Good business, good people, good prices. An overall POSITIVE experience.

I will always buy my tires from them, I will no longer wait more than 2 hours for a rotation and puncture fix.

Recently I traded in a set of BF Gooderich KO2s for a newer set to fit my 21 Ram 5.7classic and James Petrella and staff very very courteous and proffesional when dealing with me.
James gave me an attractive offer for my existing KO2s.
The new tires were mounted on my existing 20 inch rims and they show no signs of wobble or noise.
I am very very happy with my recent experience and will recommend these tire professionals to any one needing new or used tires.

Brought our 2012 Caravan in with a blown tire, ruined by a kit bought at Walmart as well, James and his team were absolutely amazing and helped us out with 4 new tires (Blizzak WS90) and installed them. James then sat and chatted with us and showed his love and pride in what he and his team do. HIGHLY RECOMMEND doing business with these guys.

We walked in to ask about a new tire rim. They were amazing. I believe it was James who looked at it and Sid it could be fixed and then did it right away! I did need a new tire and he found me a good used one. The whole staff was pleasant and very kind. We appreciated it so much. Thank you.

Terrible Service! Bought new tires here. They did not balance the tires and when I was going 85km/h on the highway for my family vacation, the car started to violently shake, I had to drive 80km/h with my four ways on until I reached an open shop (Kal Tires) in Brampton who balanced my tires correctly and everything has been fine since. I called the shop on the day it happened and left a message asking to call me back (no response) I called 1 week later and talked to reception who did not even say sorry and said the owner would call back but he did not call back yet either. Terrible service so far!

Contacted 2nd Time Tire with an email inquiry and had a reply in a reasonable time. I inquired about several sets of rims and finally chose one. They offered a couple suggestions and seemed to really understand what I was looking for. Friendly staff, good prices and great service.

My experience with this business was wonderful, professional staff and quality service. I bought a service of 4 tires and it got fixed in no time. Boyes were expert I'm their job and so do tjr receptionist lady.

Had a great experience today! Jim recommended the Nexen N´Fera Supreme tires for my SUV. He said they will " feel like you're driving on glass" and he wasn't lying! Kim made sure I was out the door by 1pm as requested so I could make my appointment. Excellent prices and service! Bonus was that I can get my tires rotated every 10K km free of charge and other great after service items! Will be back and highly recommend!

These guys are going crazy as it is snow tire season and they still treat you with kindness, dignity and it’s amazing how they manage the pressure.

Poor customer service. Got there about 3: 30sh for a flat tire was told it would be about an hour or so, more costumers came in and were getting service before me will never do business with them.

Picked up a new set of winter tires for my CX-5. Emailed some questions and had a response within minutes (on a Saturday). No pushy sales tactics, fair prices, and a range of tires for different budgets. No BS, quick, courteous, and friendly. Will be my go to spot for tires.

Great service, spoke to Jim about what I wanted and he put together a great package. His staff were very friendly and did an awesome job.

Prices are good whenever the woman decides to talk to you, called now three times just trying to get a time in to book our fleet in for new tires and keep getting put on hold and forgot about. Last time was on hold for 19mins ugh taking my business elsewhere may pay more but atleast I'll have service

Very poor poor service, today phoned for info re tire registration which they told us we would receive in the mail and now almost 3 months later still have not received it, also when phoning today to check if we could just walk in for the free tire rotation, I was put on hold twice for 30 minutes each and finally hung up. I do not recommend this business.

Was in a rush to get new tires due to a leak, they were very happy to help, fit us in on short notice, and provided excellent service. I went here because of the good reviews I've heard in the past and they completely lived up to expectations.

Amazing! Just my luck get a flat snow tire on the first snow fall of the year. Had been to a few big box stores Sun morning and no one had the time for a repair. 2nd Time Around was just as busy as all the other shops, but made time and squeezed in the repair. They are amazing to deal with. Always busy, but worth the wait. Prices are fair, tires are new or gently used, based on your needs. And the staff are wonderful.

Went in looking for some rims and rubber for my 2500, spoke with Jim and he hooked me up! Gave him an idea of what I was looking for and he showed me 2-3 options for rims and they were exactly what I was looking for. Picked a rim and then went on to explain what I wanted in a tire, Jim mentioned a mud terrain tire which I thought was going to be too aggressive and have horrible road noise, especially when pulling my camper 2-3 hours with 2 kids and a wife, listening to tires howling the whole way.
Jim assured me that the tires wouldn’t be that loud and he thought I’d be happy with them. I’m glad I listened to him because the truck looks sharp and gives off the aggressive stance/look I was picturing, and the tires aren’t as loud as I anticipated. Yes they do have some noise, but hardly noticeable, even at 120 on the highway.

I’ve been using 2nd time around for all my vehicles for over a decade now. They’ve always treated me good, gave me fair pricing and quick service. They are sometimes hard to get a hold of on the phone, but I don’t mind, if they are that busy, they’re clearly doing something right!
I’d recommend these guys (and gal) every time.

The people there are very friendly and efficient. I am very happy with the awesome wheels they had in stock that accommodated me since steelies wouldn't work with my big calipers. Their prices are very reasonable. Will be coming back in coming months for summer tires.

I have dealt with 2nd Time Around Tires here in Oshawa for almost 20 years. Good deals, Great service and THEY BACK UP THEIR GUARANTEE with applicable service! You don't need to go anywhere else!

We got some beautiful copper rims and new tires. Jim and staff are the best. Unfortunately within hours of installation, a young driver in our household managed to completely damage both rims on passenger side by scraping alongside a curb (still shaking my head on how it happened). Damage could not be repaired. We called Jim right away and asked how / if he could help us, even though this unfortunate event had nothing to do with him and was purely the fault of our young driver. We're not sure how Jim did it, but within 24 hours he was able to secure us 2 new replacement rims at a more than reasonable cost to us. He could have easily charged us full cost for replacement and labour cost for the hassle, but truly truly thankful for his big heart and treating us with his special touch. Thank you Jim and your team. We will confidently refer anyone we know in future who may need your services. Truly happy, thankful and grateful.

I blew a tire on my way to work and only had the donut to use.
I called 2nd time and they had a good used tire for me installed and out the door in 15 minutes.

Loved my experience there. Jim was very helpful I went in for a quote on rims and tires. I emailed them after they closed on a Saturday to let them know I wanted to go through with the set up, Jim called from his personal number at 8pm that night. I was in on Monday with my new set up

These guys are the best. But you have to be patient. They are the busiest tire place I know of. They will do their best to work with you but you have to be flexible as well.

Very helpful i started talking to the owner on the weekend via email asked some questions he recommend some wheel and tire setups and wow am i glad i listened to him after all that's why 2nd time has been open for years this is my 3rd vehicle getting a full rim and tire package with them thanks again 2nd time around tires!

Happy to know that they repair wheels, and can also refurbish them too.

! If by mistake they pick up the phone they will keep us on hold more then an hour and never pick up the phone!

This is my go to place, I've bought over 8 sets of tires and two sets of alloy rims over the years, always a good deal and knowledge staff

Bought 2 sets off tires off of them. 1 of the winter tires had the weighter fall off at some point and the tire was out of balance. Shop rebalanced the tire for me same day no charge even though they were very busy. Appreciated the fast and friendly service. Would buy again.

They might think they know how to do there job but for them to switch a tire off and out a tire with another rim on and tighten up takes a hole 15 mins for one tire just be worked to be wating grab a coffee go for a walk or go buy something don't think they will be fast either way if you have an appointment best to just learn to do your self I guess why these guess are in bssniess idk I even have time to right a review
