99 Sushi & Thai

Bad service. The server throws the water to my phone that i put on the table. At the end she charged the tip by herself and gave the machine to pay with out asking. The tip should be do by customer not server do it! The food was good but Such a bad setting. Never go back again!

Very good maki and sashimi quality. Definitely recommend 99 and waterloo sushi rolls. The side dishes were very fresh and tasty as well.

Went for AYCE as to be expected, it is fast service but not great quality. A lot of the pictures didn’t match the delivery.

Ordered chicken udon noodles but didn’t have any chicken on it. Sushi was alright, but for 40$ a person you would expect a little better service and food quality.

Service is good, But food isn't that good especially the sushi there's something missing I ate in different sushi place but this place the sushi's taste are tasteless

When you are at an AYCE resto, you can't expect sushi quality to be that of a sushi bar. The variety was great, the fish tasted slightly bland and the rice was average. Otherwise again for an AYCE, it was decent.

Great place! A little expensive, but you get your money's worth. The tempura is cooked to perfection and the sushi is quite enjoyable.

Service is incredibly quick. The sushi tastes fresh but there was a very small amount of fish in the rolls

The food selection is not as extensive as the other eat all you can sushi places, but the food quality is very good. Service is friendly and attentive. We will be back.

They force you to pay 15% tip and when we tried to tell them that they shouldn’t put the tip as a mandatory item they said they are not going to remove it because their wages are too low and they almost work for free. I am sorry but I am not responsible for the greediness of the restaurant owner and his inability to prop compensate his staff. I am never going there again

Dont ever consider eating here.when we were about to pay, the 15% tips was already in the bill.we asked the server why they didnt let us pick the percentage, the only reason he was giving us was “they require 15% tips in every restaurant now, our employees dont receive enough tips”. This tip culture is getting out of hand bruh.the service we got was pretty slow and we didnt even get all the requested items on our table.

Food was good, but the woman isn’t so friendly like the man there who’s cool. There is a 15% mandatory tip added on the receipt (handwritten after the total) if you’re a table of 4. The policy isn’t on the menu which is a bit odd. The lady also brought up a bucket of water a very strong smelling chlorine product to sweep the floor while we’re still eating (the restaurant closes at 11 and the time was 10: 15/10: 30 that day. Overall good kitchen but bad service. Would love to come back here and give 5 stars when things improve.

I have NEVER gone to any restaurant where they FORCE YOU TO TIP 15 percent! I went with my boyfriend and the waitress said the tip is mandatory. Since when has it been MANDATORY to tip $13 dollars? !
Yes it’s mandatory when it’s a big group but for a table for 2? Ridiculous …

Don’t get me wrong the food is good, but I’m not about to entertain this ridiculous tip culture we’re getting into. The stinginess of this place was extremely off putting. Customers should not be responsible for your staff’s wages. Do better

The food tastes great, the restaurant is clean, and the staff are very attentive without hovering. Also, take-out orders are ready in ten minutes.

I've been to this place several times for the "All you can eat" dinner menu. The quality of the food is really good and the menu provides various options. On the contrary to other "all you can eat" Sushi restaurants they bring your order really quick and staff are friendly. The only thing that I believe could be better is the dessert menu which only has ice cream and fried bananas.

So good, so fresh! Spring rolls and their sauce taste delicious, their teriyaki sauce is very good. I had chicken teriyaki rolls, cucumber rolls, California rolls, sushi combo c and everything tasted great and freshly prepared which I loved. Can’t wait to go for all you can eat!

The quality of their food is AMAZINGGGG! We tried chicken bento box, short rib bento box and dynamite roll, all of them were super delicious

Very disappointing. Maybe it was a day off or something else was up but rice was overcooked, chicken was bland and sushi was very subpar. Had very high expectations given the reviews. Value for money was also not great since they discarded the lunch special.

I had the pleasure of having the all you can eat dinner for lunch lol as had more options and was amazing was about 33.00 per person and worth every penny.
One after another from the hot soups to the appetizers everything tasted so good.

As my normal go-to sushi place was no longer offering an AYCE menu, my friend and I decided to give this place a try as their menu looked plentiful with a fair price. Gone are the days of sub $30 per person AYCE dinners unfortunately and with COVID decimating the service industry, it's tough to make the AYCE system work efficiently. While the sushi here was what I'd call decent as far as AYCE quality goes, the rolls and nigiri had too much rice. The fish portions were totally acceptable however the amount of rice did detract from the taste/texture I'm used to. The staple sashimi (salmon/red tuna/snapper) were small pieces which did not bother me too much as the service was quite prompt in replenishing our requests despite only having one waitress serving about 8-10 tables. Outside of the tempura and a few grilled options I did not try most of the hot options (fried rice, pad thai, udon, curries, etc) however many tables did and they seemed popular items. As a big fan of the grilled beef enoki rolls I was quite disappointed to see they were literally 2-3 inch pieces. Again, it was more of an annoyance than a quality issue. One thing that 99 Sushi does well is offer most of the AYCE grilled/fried items as single pieces servings so you can try one of each to get an idea of whether you would enjoy something as opposed to each order having multiple pieces. Overall, I'd return to 99 Sushi if I was in the area again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as their shortcomings were more than made up for with the wide array of choices (albeit it, in small portions) and the efficient service.

Umm. I hate giving bad reviews but It was disappointing. I honestly think they are much better places for Sushi in midtown. I found it nothing special.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. Sushi pieces are huge.also the quality isn’t that great. I had to mask the sushi with so much ginger. Over priced as well

A little pricey for all you can eat but to be expected in the Yonge & Eglinton area. Food was good and service was good.
