A Corner Cafe

I always wanted to try this place since it opened, but now that I have eaten here, I would say there is no need for a return visit. The London fog was not hot when it was served, it was just lukewarm. They did not ask for how the egg should be done for the eggs benedict, usually brunch places would ask you for your preference. The chicken and waffles were just fine, nothing too special. They have a bunch of board games available for patrons to play with, which is a fun idea, but they have a seating time limit of 1 hr (if I recall correctly) on weekends.

A decent place with reasonable prices. The food was good, and the service was efficient. Vietnamese Latte was awesome

Decent place for hang out and hang around. Don't expect much for service as it is a corner cafe diner.

The matcha latte wasn't very flavourful but the sweet potato fries were very good! Note that on a busy day their seating limit is 1 hour.

Overpriced and unprofessional - Mother’s Day experience.

Place look nice and service was poor/unprofessional. They took our orders and then ask us pay extra on item such as toast which is standard with an omelette. $4 for two small pieces of toast REALLY.

Disappointing and food was ok. It’s worth the trip to the starving artist which is down the street if you ask me.

For starters, the food is great. Service was prompt, and the food arrived quickly. I'd definitely recommend the chicken and waffles. The smoothies are amazing as well. A real fun place if you're coming along with friends for a meal. You can enjoy your meal while playing board games. Overall, I definitely recommend this cafe for a weekend brunch.

If I could put 0 star I would. Just came here today the male server seems does not want to work. His service is horrible. I don't know how the food would be but this is the worst service I had experience in Markham. Do not come.

Love this place.very nice and quiet place in the morning.foods and service are good. Their fruit tea is very refreshing. We got 10% off when pay by cash. They have seat time limited to an hour at busy time.we went in the morning, not busy at all so seat time limit not apply.

A good get away from the children place for my wife and I. Their food and drinks are really good. Just there might be a wait time. Overall it really good place.

I’m sorry, but I came in on the 22nd of April, not only was the service bad but the pancakes and fries were undercooked, the chicken had more breading in the chicken and waffles and there was a Hair and egg shell in the pancakes.

We came here on a whim. We were very suprised in how amazing the coffee tasted and the alternative milk varieties! The best shock was how amazing the food tasted! As a person from California I can say the eggs benedict here are the best I have ever had! Super delicious will come back again for more.

Amazing food selection and good tasting all across the board, not much decline in taste anywhere on the menu. Atmosphere is also super nice!

Food was okay, but paying for the bill was a headache. The card machine was not working properly and would disconnect every 1-5 seconds. For the inconvenience and waste of time, I’d not want to tip the default 15-20%. When I asked if there’re other paying options, the waitress replied “no”. I was in a rush, so I ended up selecting the default 18% tip in order to proceed to the tap payment page. I was also rushed by the waitress to complete payment as fast as possible as if I were responsible for the malfunctioning machine. Just as I walked out, I heard another customer asking for the bill and paying by cash. So why the heck did they make me pay with the machine only and waste my time? Very confusing and poor communication and service.

A nice and cute breakfast place. It gets quite busy near the brunch-time hour, with a bit of a wait, so I'd recommend getting there early.

Dessert and hot beverages are great. The hrs of operations isn't.they close at 8pm but could potentially stay open till 9-10pm.

A solid cafe spot for brunch. I wouldn’t stray away from anything else than chicken and waffles, and egg bennys at the restaurant (pastas aren’t that great).

They also have board games available, so you can eat and play at the same time.

Delicious brunch. First time and tried the waffle and fried chicken, 10/10 this place was above expectations. It was very busy and yet service was very good. Would definitely recommend.

I was looking up brunch spots and I chose to come to this one because it had high ratings. On a Tuesday morning, it was about half full. I chose the veggie eggs Benedict which was $14 and comes with side salad and fries. Everything was so delicious I cleaned off my plate. The eggs were made perfectly and the sauce and veggie combo was a perfect mix of sweetness and spice. The fries had a really nice crispy coating. I only wish there were more salad and fries, and for $14 it would be nice if it came with simple coffee or tea.

The combo of books, boardgames, and brunch make for an amazing atmosphere. Piggy benny is possibly the most creative eggs benedict I've ever tried (eggs benny as fusion food is a revelation I never knew I needed). Reasonably priced and a broad menu selection without overwhelming you. Great tea, great coffee, great vibes. Can't wait to make another trip over to try more

Service was good, eggs were over cooked. Food was ok, bit bland, chrysanthemum tea tasted like regular black tea.

Really really delicious and nice pasta and the white peach oolong tea is so tasty! I've had taro bubble tea here in the past, which was just ok. I wouldn't reorder it. Really kind staff work here; I will come again!

Place is very good. Great ambience. Food was great as well. We ordered chicken benny and spinach pasta. Spinach pasta was really good. Service was pretty good and they have board games also. 10/10 recommend this cafe.

The decor is nice, spacious with plenty of seating.

We ordered the fried chicken eggs Benny, side of sweet potato fries and mango smoothie. The fried chicken and the eggs were overcooked, lacked flavouring. The sweet potato fries were soggy, drenched in oil. The mango smoothie tasted like milk and ice blended together, lacking the taste of mangoes. I told the server and she knew exactly what I was talking about, suggesting that this is a common complaint. She brought me back another smoothie and it tasted slightly better. I hope the owner reads these reviews and uses the feedback to make improvements.

Love the vibe of this place! The food was amazing. Service was very good too. The wait wasn't too bad. Compared to other brunch places in the area, Corner Cafe has a bit more space so the place itself doesn't feel stuffy. Would highly recommend!

Insane hostess, we came as a couple with a baby in his car seat. Restaurant was completely empty besides 1 table. We tried to sit in the booth originally but their seating was too tight to fit the car seat so we requested either a bigger table or more space to fit the baby. Hostess refused to give us a bigger table and didn’t give us any other option, implying we should just tough it up and “figure it out”.

The interior is clean and well maintained.

They have a game corner and overall the vibe is welcoming.

Food portion is great for me but could be a little small for an adult male.

But they kept the door open and feels cold and windy.

Cute cafe across from Markville and definitely enjoyed the food. Also love that they have board games that you can play and the staff was super nice. Definitely would come back again.

Nice quiet brunch spot in Markham near Markville Mall but service was very slow. Restaurant went from only two tables when we first ordered to almost full before our orders were completely at our table. A span of probably 45 minutes or so. Food was okay, but not great. Would not recommend the rice bowl as rice was starchy. Fried chicken deserves a mention though. Crispy, well-seasoned, and juicy

Best place for breakfast, lunch in Markham! Service is outstanding and the food is amazing for such young chefs. They are thorough, polite, thoughtful and we love this place. Plus there is free Wifi! Keep up the great work!

Disappointed the last two to three times we went here. The hours should be changed to say that they close at 7: 00pm (or something earlier?) because they don't let you order 90% of the dishes after 7: 00 p.m. Telling you they're closing. We drove here from far away to order takeout. At 7: 30 pm we are inside to order and they tell us no, you can only order the pasta, we're closing.
We were starving. We could have had a proper meal with good food somewhere! But instead we wasted the evening and are left with no food.
I used to love ordering takeout here and eating the food because it's amazing but it has been really disappointing not being able to order anything the past few times even though we always try to order well before closing. Definitely don't want to come back after experiencing a few times.

I love this place for their chicken and waffles- probably my favourite place in the city for this dish. Very yummy salted egg yolk chicken wings and their pastas are delicious! I miss dining in here. But it's great for takeout as well. Food is always very fresh and consistent! Good portions.

They have a policy where if you get seated you won’t be able to move tables so if you see an empty seat and want to move you won’t be able to. I decided to get the classic breakfast because I wanted something lighter and it was honestly pretty sad. The classic breakfast was $11 and for 2 more dollars I could go to another cafe for bigger portions and not McCain fries. It’s suppose to be 2 scrammed eggs but it honestly only looks like one egg. ‍️

An incredible Cafe with generous portions and friendly staff. The atmosphere is very fresh with the emphasis on connection. The games corner is well stocked and the food is delicious.

I can't believe I never knew about this cafe sooner. I don't really frequent cafes in Markham because in Markham I only think about Asian food but I definitely will be coming back here! The smoked salmon Benny and fried chicken waffles both were soo good! The eggs were perfectly runny on a bed of arugula and toasted garlic bread. The salad was lightly dressed with an addictive sweet and tangy dressing. The amount of dressing was bang on as I hate overly dressed salads. It was just enough to give it some flavour. Fries were really crispy, I think they're Costco fries. Delicious.

Fries chicken was amazinggg. I believe they used a Taiwanese popcorn chicken seasoning/batter? I don't know but it was just good, not too oily or dry. Very juicy and tender actually.

My drink was like XXL, (I think that's standard for their drinks) loved that for me! There was a lot of ice in it but it surprisingly didn't dilute the drink much.

I really want to come back soon to try their other menu items because there's a lot of variety including pancakes, toasts, pastas, rice bowls, Chinese desserts, etc.

Fabulous food. The menu has options for everyone and yet isn’t overly complicated. Everything we had was delicious and beautifully plated.

I really enjoy my brunch and my visit there! The food was great and the service was great. It was a lineup at the entrance, but the server didn't rush us to finish the food. I definitely will go back
