A-OK Cafe

I thoroughly enjoyed the high-quality coffee I tried with a friend previously, prompting me to revisit the cafe today. After ordering coffee and a croissant for myself, the staff noticed that I have laptop with me. They informed me of the laptop-free policy, which supports creating a social environment. Although I fully endorse their initiative, being alone and needing only a brief laptop use, I expressed my situation.
But the staff told me that they can’t do anything, as it is mentioned that cafe is laptop free. I am very disappointed and will never visit again, even with my friends to, chat,

Was looking for a good strong cup of coffee, I wanted some thing other than Tim's or Starbucks. A-OK was a a great choice.
The coffee was good, and the service top tier.
Next time I'll try their food.

Most pastries are $5 each, slightly pricey.
Croissant was soft, flakey, buttery. Could find similar at Upper Canada Mall at half the price.

Coffee leaves an acidic after taste AT THIS LOCATION. Beautiful latte art & well-made lattes, nice to have dairy free options, but would not recommend (especially if you are a serious coffee lover).

Coming to experience (just) the ambiance is worth it at least once.

EDIT: For some reason the coffee seems to taste better at every other location. Perhaps it's improved here. The pastries are awesome.

Very nice place for my half hour dinner break. Lovely tea in Teapot. Tasty quinoa bites. Music awful and too loud. Turned down upon request. Seating is limited thus the no laptop policy. People with them tend to loiter. I think it's a fair policy

I had my first green iced matcha latte today with vanilla.was incredible.never had anything like it before.

Bad service, person taking our order was rude. Once order was placed the two girls making our coffee were snobby and rude, anytime we asked for milk or sugar they would look at each other and laugh like we are stupid.

Hands down one of the best breakfast experiences. The croissant sandwiches are immaculate, the drinks are delicious and crafted. You just feel different enjoying your morning or afternoon there. Highly recommend

Always a pleasure when getting to walk into an a-ok cafe

The decor has the same vibe wherever you go and it’s very eyecatching, especially with the “everything is a ok” sign

Got a latte this time and as always, nice and smooth taste. The people there are friendly and ready to help out when you are done looking through the menu

The one thing I noticed is they also have some cocktails, so a great place to catch up with a friend over some simple drinks

I was so excited to go try this place and have it as my regular work space, but got told “it’s a laptop free space”. So unless you’re looking to switch to the ole pen and paper for your work, i wouldn’t bother going here lol

I had forgotten what a “good” coffee tasted until I tried A-OK in this location. The croissant was also rich and perfectly done. This is a must-go in Newmarket for coffee-lovers.

Great place for a coffee or latte. I always get the vanilla latte made with oat milk. One size, one price which is cool.they don't charge you extra for vanilla or oat milk. The staff here are always great also. I always see the same guy and girl and they're both awesome.

Their apple cinnamon chai latte is like drinking a really good apple pie. They're also super nice!

Just remember, no laptops and you're golden o7

This cafe is Okay as the name suggests. The quality of both coffee and pastry is inferior to Starbucks from my experience. But if you like to sit down for a coffee and something sweet in the middle of the mall after shopping, it’s safe to assume this is your best option at upper Canada mall.

Review update: I moved my review from 5 stars to 1 and the only reason is that I was trying to use my laptop on the cafe and they simply didn’t not allow me. I don’t care if they have any sort of policy. The audacity to control people freedom and what they do is not appropriate.

This place is great. Quick, friendly service and my drink was 10/10. Way better than Starbucks or any other alternative honestly
