Everyone at Abbey Animal Hospital is so dedicated to their little pet patients. Our little puppy is in good hands here.

We’ve entrusted the care of our 3 loving dogs to Dr Hobson since 1997. We were saddened to hear that he was retiring (but happy for him and wish him all the best). Our dog Oscar was ill so we saw Dr Rocks. She gave him Antibiotics. When we saw that his health was declining, we called and had an appointment. She called back to say she wouldn’t have enough time to take care of him. I asked if he Could be seen the following day, and again she said she wouldn’t have enough time. We ended up taking Oscar to the Mississauga and Oakville animal Hospital twice. Sadly we had to have Oscar Euthanized because he had 4 seizures within a couple of hours. We asked that his ashes be sent to Abbey Animal Hospital for pickup. We I went to get Oscar’s ashes and were given the WRONG remains!
We had to go back to get the correct remains. Hopefully this will not happen to another family. We received a kind sympathy card from the Mississauga Oakville Animal hospital but there was nothing from Abbey Animal Hospital.

Dr. Scott Hobson is the best vet in Oakville! Unfortunately Dr Hobson has recently retired and Sold his stake in this wonderful business, but he's left it in very good hands with Dr Adam Rossborough.

I had never seen a Doctor who refused to see a dog in pain. But had no problem giving all the medication and sending her for testing. My dog has anxiety, and his advice was to put her down. Luckily I could work with a trainer, and her problem was fixed with no medication or putting her down.

Nasty attitude. Dismissive and did not care about the issue as much as she cared about an active file leaving my pet without any opportunity for proper care. I will not be returning as an existing patient. Shame on you.

I am so happy that I found Dr. Sarah Bishop at Abbey Animal Hospital! She is amazing and is a true partner in the health of my cat Zoë who has some ongoing health challenges. She listens to me, calms my worries and really explains things in a way that puts my mind at ease. AND she really knows her stuff. I am so grateful for all of the staff at Abbey Animal Hospital they are always kind, courteous and understanding.

Dr. Hobson and his team are very knowledgable and very understanding we just put our dog to sleep and they we very good to us

Been a client for more than 20 years. Service for cats and dogs has always been fabulous. Dr. Beck is absolutely first class.

The vets are amazing here. I wanted a second opinion on my 14 and a half year old dog who was diagnosed with a form of cancer. They told me no, even though I bring my cat there they arent accepting new patients. Time is of the essence here and we are losing sleep worrying. I have been going there for years. I just wanted to make sure my dogs diagnosis was correct and that he isnt suffering. However they expect me to go to two different vets. Them for my cat and find another one for my dog. So needless to say I wont be back, and have to find a new Vet that will take both my pets, and maybe a working website.

Dr. Maggie Rockx definitely choose the right career!

Her care and passion in treating my sister’s dog Chynna was nothing but amazing. She went over and above to save Chynna’s life.

As I live in BC, I want to thank her for being there for my sister when I could not be.

I would definitely recommend this office for the care and health of your fur babies.

Thank you Dr. Rockx. I had a rough few days worried sick about my Chynna and although 2 sets of Xrays, an ultrasound and positive blood panel, did not reveal the seriousness of the impaction in her stomach and intestines. Your unequivocal attention to detail and care for my dog, prevented a more serious condition and ultimately saved her life. Dr. Rockx worked tirelessly after hours Saturday and Sunday evenings providing post operative care and I cannot thank you enough.

I’ve been taking my fur family to Abbey Animal Hospital for 20+ years for a reason. The care and compassion of the staff are incredible. Dr Hobson goes far and above the call of duty and has been with us through some very difficult illnesses and end of life journeys. We recently adopted a new puppy, Max, after losing our two beloved dogs over 6 months ago and wouldn’t dream of taking him anywhere else! Dr Bishop is also incredibly compassionate and has been wonderful with our aging cat with thyroid issues.

Dr. Hobson’s commitment goes well beyond any professional’s or business’. I am grateful for him going to such great lengths to monitor my previous Twinkle’s health condition.

My dog is very comfortable with Dr. Beck who exudes calmness and caring. Front desk staff are efficient and friendly. An excellent vet service to consider if you are looking for a vet.

Best animal hospital around. Dr Scott Dobson is a caring and compassionate man. So glad to have him care for my pets for at least 20 years.

Over priced. Way over priced.

We have been using Abbey Animal Hospital for almost 10 years for our dog and cat, and more recently our rabbits.

Our dog needed her teeth out, and we were quoted $3400. We didn’t like this price and went somewhere else that quoted us $800. The total at the other vet ended up being $880 including a pre-exam and post exam. I’m really disappointed that Abbey Animal Hospital felt the need to charge us that much. It made us feel like they cared more about money than the health of our dog.
Price difference: $2520

Additionally, in summer 2020 I took my male rabbit to get neutered here. I was charged $450. When it was time to spay my female rabbit, they quoted me $680. I felt this was way too much, and I ended up taking my female rabbit to get spayed somewhere else, and the other vet charged me $250. I also got 2 other male rabbits neutered at my new vet for $200 each.
Neuter Price difference: $250
Spay Price difference: $430

The vet care here is fine, but the prices are just ridiculous and unaffordable for many pet owners. I think it’s disappointing that this vet feels the need to charge people so much for basic medical care. We are happy with our new vet where we can receive great care and affordable/reasonable prices.

Staff are polite and professional. Dr Beck is far and away the best vet I have encountered over my many years being a pet owner. He is honest, attentive, understanding and completely professional always keeping what is best for both the animals and the owners in mind. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. Recently lost our loved one and he went above and beyond. I can’t thank him and his team enough for the way they handled the situation. If you’re looking for a good vet to take care of your loved ones, I’d give them/him a call.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Dr. Hobson and his team essentially saved our puppies life, and we couldn't have been more appreciative of their communication with us during a very hard couple of days.

This place is incredible! After moving to the area we were a little lost and a horrible hot spot prompted us to call. The love and knowledge that was thrown our way was amazing. Dr. Bishop is a wonderful person and an even better Vet. She is so knowledgeable and kind.and completely judgment-free of crazy dog moms. Would give 100 stars if I could.

Doctor rockz was kind and professional and even with all the covid measures our visit there still had a very personalised feel to it. The follow ups were on the dot. Highly recommended!

Very caring and genuinely nice clinic. Had to put our family dog down today and they where very accommodating and it was like being at home.

I had a wonderful experience with Abbey Animal Hospital, and especially want to say a big thank you to Dr. Sarah, and the employees who answered the phone and got me set up with an appointment. My new kitten had stopped eating and I was quite panicked about finding a veterinarian in the area that was open on a Saturday and available to see her on such short notice. I was surprised to be able to get an appointment that day, October 31st, and received phenomenal service. Everyone I spoke to was so caring and compassionate, and really made me feel at ease. They took my concerns seriously and were very attentive. My kitten was feeling much better after some sub-q fluids and new food; we’re both so grateful! We will definitely be continuing to visit Abbey Animal Hospital, though hopefully just for annual exams and vaccines next time. Thank you again!

During covid they are not allowing owners to be with there pets. This is absurd obviously my pet has the same germs I do. My dog is sick and needs attention and they want me to drop him off like a car at service? When I expressed that I’m not ok with that the receptionist said we’ll cancel the appointment and hung up!

Always great there! My parents took our 1st, my 1st, and my moms new one. Very caring and gentle with the animals.

Dr. Rossborough helped my miniature dachshund so much with her teeth. This particular breed is prone to having dental issues. He extracted my dog's problematic teeth as well as expertly clean her good teeth so they look good as new. Knowledgeable and kind. I'm so glad he is our vet!

My pets have been treated here for 10 years. All of the Dr. 's are excellent. They will love and protect your pets the way you would. They are honest and upfront regarding billing. They will move schedules to accomodate you. Your Dr.will continue to follow up with you by emails weeks after the fact or check in to see how your pet is doing. They make accurate diagnosis and most importantly when that dreaded time comes for your pet to leave this world they will be there to support you and not harass you about billing. My 2 dogs died 2 days apart, devestating. Dr. Ross was so compassionate and humane - this means soo much to me, I am eternally grateful.

Abbey animal hospital is great. They are very professional and love all pets that are brought in. Shout out to Dr Rockx and her ability to give my little chihuahua Cookie his needle and clip his claws even though he freaks at the mere sight of the needle!

I recently got my rabbit neutered here and I could not be happier with the customer service I received.

I believe my rabbit was seen by Dr. Rockx, who did his check up and his surgery. Throughout the whole process she was very transparent with me, informing me of the benefits of the surgery as well as the risks. After the surgery she called me with an update, telling me that the surgery was successful and that my rabbit would even have a few hours in the clinic to be monitored. I was sent home with a great instruction list and medicine which was very easy to administer.

The customer service leading up to the procedure was also fantastic, I called several times with questions and had them answered every time. I appreciate the extra effort the ladies at reception put in to have my questions answered by the vets, it definitely helped put my mind at ease about the surgery. COVID procedures were also put in place and followed wonderfully.

Going into the whole process I was very nervous and concerned, as my rabbit is very loved by my whole family and I was worried that something would happen to him. In hindsight I had nothing to worry about, my rabbits surgery was successful and after a day he was back to the happy and bouncy bunny he was before. I would definitely recommend them for all pets.

Dr. Sarah is one of the finest and most compassionate vets I have met. A true credit to her profession.

I was refused service by the receptionist because I hadn’t been there in a while. She was angry I’d gone somewhere else in the past? Never in my life. My dogs in pain. Absolutely disgusting.

Dr. Scott Hobson is the vet to two of my elderly cats! I cannot say enough good about him!
I emailed him at night because my cat was in crisis, he responded first thing in the morning and even though he wasn't working, he was willingly going to go to to clinic on his weekend off! Thank you for all you have done, and continue to do, for our pets!

The veterinarian that my pet has had here is quite good. However, the receptionist is quite rude and condescending. There are so many good veterinarians to go to in Oakville who have respectful support staff, that I recommend you take your pet elsewhere.

Outstanding team of vets and staff. You can always count on Dr. Rossborough to treat your pet with the utmost compassion, care and professionalism. Highly recommendable.

This team is exceptional. All the docs are fantastic and the staff is very thoughtful, caring and organized. The docs are so amazing here that we are considering enrolling our wild little children as "patients" here, classifying them as "donkeys". 5 stars to this well run office!

The staff here at Abbey Animal Hodptial are the best around. Lovely staff up front and we love our Vet Dr. Beck. He is always helpful and looking for all solutions to any problems that come up/may arise in our current dog, as well as created a kind and gentle enviorment for when we had to say goodbye to our older forever friend. A great group of vets who apply their knowledge and skills with common sense in their practice. I had the great good fortune of dealing with Dr. Sarah Bishop as our primary, she walked us through all of the issues our poor puppy went through and helped us, with empathy and compassion, when we made the decision to not let her suffer any further. We have also dealt with Dr. Hobson, who also took a great deal of time to explain every option when she had torn her ACL. I HIGHLY recommend them to everyone I know.
