Good food.bought the homemade tripe soup and fish eggs salad.reminded me of holidays feast we usually have back home.if in the neighborhood for sure I will visit again the store.
For an East European culinary experience, this little store has a lot to offer. Freshly cooked foods, deli, and packaged traditional foods. Reminds me of my childhood.
Customer service at this place is such an absolute garbage, not one cashier or employee ever seen nice, they bad talking on clents and call names, have bad attitude, and rude, rude… The have a boy there, absolut mismatch for the job, I guess their store culrure is all wrong, so all new employees will end up being rude Disgusting experience!
The fresh daily has some of my husband's favorite meats, the hot food bar and bakery are chefs kiss.
The European chocolates and candy's bring me so much comforting nostalgia. The staff and security make sure that their customers are in a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
Beautiful Romanian store, which carries many fabulous and delicious products, including some from its Balkan neighbors. Fresh products, clean establishment, excellent customer service. Decent prices. Highly recommend
Ok I guess. Kind of gimmicky. Don't even have salad dressing? @reply: oh, no actually your WORKER looked with me and told me you guys don't sell it! But thanks for implying I didn't look hard enough.
Great for all your Eastern European needs! It's the only place I can trust to buy good kasha. My mum and I are also in love with the frozen condensed milk bars, that remind us of our favourite Estonian treat.
Loved this place! Passed it many times on my way to other stores or the movie theatre, never once thought about popping in. So glad I did yesterday. The staff are super-friendly and the food and groceries are of top notch quality
One of my favorite deli's in city, but unfortunately because of mask manadate lift I no longer feel comfortable or safe with all the staff behind the counter being unmasked and serving food while covid cases continue to rise. Really sad and unfortunate.
Am updating my review to say i am seeing online they still carry Russian products. Just in case anyone might find this relevant when shopping here. Really ABC?
Really good prepared Romanian dishes. Try the cabbage rolls and grape leaf rolls, and the eggplant salad. They also have a great deli counter with lots of meats and cheeses and a bakery counter. Fyi it gets busy over the weekend and sometimes they run out of the ready made dishes. Prices are reasonable for the Romanian specialty items you cannot get anywhere else.
Love this place. They have everything like a European deli world have and more. They even give you a sample of subscribe you have never tried before. They have so many meats, breads and even speciality orders. Check it out the even have thick English bacon. Three stay are awesome and will answer and question you have. Check them out. Oh don't forget the awesome desserts too! ️️️
I have asked for jelly tongue and I got the leftover. Not fresh and not eatable. Very dissatisfied and disappointed on the offering and how the customers are treated. Despite that, tripe soup was very good!
I have revisited the store, again today. Got scared as one employee that was serving at the counter had only a transparent look alike mask and he acted like he's cool! I ask the management to look onto the TPH regulation as i think in a public setup at least a medical mask is required.
I am going to this store for the past 27 years. Initial store was at Sheppard and Pharmacy, it relocated 4 years ago at the Pharmacy and Eglinton area, where Canadian Tire is.
Over the years, I had the chance to sample many European products, excellent quality, prices and service.
The new location is bigger and can accommodate more delicious products, thus creating a very good shopping experience.
All my food for Christmas and Easter is ordered from there.
Tried ordering food online for Christmas 2021, not realizing that delivery is 7 days later, on the 29th of December. I got in touch with one of the owners, communication was by email back and forth, explained, that it was an "honest mistake", got refunded the money back in my bank account, within 24 hours.
This is the service, I am expecting to and will order from them in the future, online or in person, as exceptional and consistent customer service, is delivered each and every time. Way to go and will see you soon! Highly recommended! 5*
Came here with my boyfriend who is from France thinking he might find some items from back home, but there were only a few things he recognized. He said the store is geared more to Polish European backgrounds than anything else. There are a lot of delicious desserts to choose from at the back of the store!
I’ve been shopping here for over 4 years and today will be my last visit. I am appalled at the nose dive the quality of food has taken since I first became a customer of ABC EURODELICATESEN.
Please stay away from the prepared food section of this store. On many, many occasions I have purchased food that was very obviously spoilt or past it’s expiration date but somehow the date showed it was fresh.
Today I bought the Burduf cheese and regret not checking it before serving to my family. After a bite everyone could tell the cheese was rotten and smelled of mold. My nieces became sick after eating this and I am just ashamed to have served it.
The owner needs to crack down on quality assurance and stop serving expired and rotten foods. People’s health snd lives are at risk this isn’t a small deal.
Staff saw that I was next in line, someone bud in front and just walked in the store. Despite the staff knowing we were there first they told us to keep waiting until someone else left the store.
So instead of getting the person who decided to bud us and tell them to leave, they tell us to keep waiting? Decided never to come back
I shop there today and I was shocked that people who were serving food did not have mask. After one year of pandemic they still don't know that shields is not a proper protection from corona virus.
I spent $280 today and got some really fine meat and other products. However, the Pick salami ($20) looks and smells well past its due day. Moreover, the woman who served us put some not quite fresh (or maybe not veal?) winners amongst the 8 pieces that I bought. I never had this experience in Toronto before, but remember this shady practice from Hungary 40 years ago. I wonder why this otherwise excellent store tolerates these kind of practices.
Yesterday was my first time at ABC Euro Deli and it was the worst experience at a food store that I have ever had. I was in the area shopping with my husband who wanted some black forest ham for his lunch for the week. As we were approaching the door to enter, an employee opened the door for us and greeted us by saying, "you have 3 minutes to get what you need, " implying that they will be closing in 3 minutes. I had not even gone up close enough to the entrance to read the store's hours. When we approached the deli counter, there were about 5 deli clerks who were very annoyed that we were there. One told us that they couldn't serve us because the deli slicing machines were already clean. 2 more deli clerks were vocally debating if they should serve us or not but finally, one of the deli clerks agreed to serve us. I could not believe that this happened to us. I felt very uncomfortable and unwanted. My husband was livid. The staff are extremely rude. If a customer is shopping within store hours, how could you refuse and/or debate to serve them? How unprofessional. You should be ashamed of yourselves for making a customer feel so uncomfortable. It is inevitable that I will never be returning and will make sure that my close family and friends will not visit this unprofessional business. I hope that the owners see this review and can share it with your staff.
The potato soup they make is so delicious, the coleslaw the fresh buns and sandwiches! This place is heavenly if you want a satisfying lunch that leaves your belly happy!
Great little shop. They now manage the door properly and efficiently. I couldn't help but notice many elderly come, only to be discouraged at the size of the line-up, though. I wonder if it makes sense to designate one day each week for anyone over 65? Start at front of line, instead of the back? Just a sign of respect to our elders.just an idea.
Excellent variety of European products and their deli selection is awesome! The prices are really good too. Very nice staff and service. It is always great to go there!
Good store for all your European grocery needs. Took off two star because of the blonde Russian door girl's careless rude attitude. She needs to learn to be polite to customers trying to shop at this establishment.
This is obviously one of the coolest place to eat in the region. Anytime I come to this place I am truly satisfied. They always keep their high standard service and the topmost level of dishes they give. You are always happy with this place. Highly recommended.
Great place to shop. The store is very clean, items easy to find, and merchandise appealing. The owners are directly involved in handling customers concerns and provide excellent customer service.
I emailed about an issue with a purchase I made and my sole intent was to raise some awareness about quality. I received an immediate reply to my email from Ovi, I was refunded for the purchase and was also offered a replacement of items at no cost. I am highly recommending shopping here.
Love this place! You wouldn't know it's a total gem from the outside but so many treasures inside. Romanian focused goods. Lots of canned goods, preserves, and snacks.
Take a number and get in line the deli is always humming away serving warm and cold foods that are both very popular. They make great sandwiches to go too!
Pricing is always incredibly reasonable and doesnt make it feel like a "specialty" store. Currently unavailable by self serve but the mixed pickles and sourkraut come from huge buckets and are just as good as you want them to be.
My faves: smoked sausages behind the deli, bacon chips (heat them in the oven), and the containers of REAL pork lard for cooking.
Great variety of food from various backgrounds, Romanian, polish, Hungarian, Turkish etc. Tasty prepared foods, schnitzel, perogies, sauerkraut, & fantastic European deserts, finish tort etc.
Eat at your own risk. Everything looks great with a very nice selection. I was initially excited to find this gem and was hoping to revisit this store specifically for the bakery section alone! However out of 4 slices of cake I purchased today 2 were rock hard stale with a funky taste and 1 had visable mold on it! Noticed after taking a bite unfortunately will never be back and highly discourage anyone from eating any of their prepared foods. I cant imagine they take freshness seriously here unfortunately.
Ok so i just ordered through uber eats and i had the best meal of my life and i called to tell them that and the lady on the phone was so unaccepting of a compliment and quite frankly that put me off the meal i just had!
Everything is always fresh and super clean, just a great shopping experience. Products are very well priced and the variety is endless. Highly recommended!
Great little shop, but if You are going to make people wait outside in line for 30 minutes, at try to be efficient about it. Have a person at the door counting people in and out. Not the cashier doing double duty with no system of managing how many are going in and out!
Asked for THIN sliced westfalien ham, got instead THICK slices of pork pastrami.more expensive, saltier. I know this is not a big deal BUT I'm still disappointed on their customer care. BTW store was not busy at all
