We move June 17th from North York to Port Credit area.
We were thoroughly pleased with the hard work put in by Mick, Ricardo and Mo. We had plenty of heavy items and they made quick work of our move. At first they were concerned that we couldn't fit our 3 bedroom (plus) furniture into the truck and maybe needed another or an added trip. But they were able to stack it all perfectly right to the door and got it done. We had plenty of fragile goods but they took care to wrap everything securely and not one thing was broken. Excellent work, lowest rates I could find and I would say I'd definitely use their services in the future but I hope to never move again so I will recommend them to friends and family.

They were on time there price was good and the guys who came to do the move where very good at what they were doin whatever I would say they would do and fast and careful I recommend this company and will always use them.

We contacted ABS last minute.
We had furniture and boxes in local storage in Alliston and we had to move to new home.
Our experience was wonderful.
They help a lot.
We would use them again.

Nothing but positive things to say about my experience

I booked extremely last minute - at 8pm the night before and needed the movers for 1pm

The team showed up half an hour early and completed my move in with over an hour to spare

So, it really depends on who you happen to get as your movers. The first time I used ABS, it was great. The guys were efficient, careful, friendly and nothing damaged. Took the exact time they said it would. The second time was pretty terrible: almost everything I had was chipped, scratched, or dented (my dresser, desk, drawers, chest, picture frames, etc). One of the guys barely did anything, so it also took over 2 hours longer / cost 200-300 more than it should. I did end up getting some money back from them for damages, but it wasn't exactly easy or enough - and also I'd have rather gone with a different company who didn't ruin my stuff to begin with. It's a gamble with this company; I won't be working with them again. Good luck.

Awesome movers. Were super careful with my items and actually repacked some stuff that I didn't pack properly as they didn't want to take a chance of it breaking in the move. Were quick and even helped assemble some furniture at the end.

The worst experience with a moving company. Before they even started the job, George came and asked for a tip of at least 50 dollars per person. For him and Mohamed. He boasted that he has been doing this for many years and that he was very good. They kept on reminding me throughout the day that they wanted a tip. Which was ok if they did a good job.

I get the first call at 8.43 am saying they are on the way to the location, however on the receipt they have already started billing at 8.30. They had to pick up items from 2 locations and come to my house. After loading items from the first place, they were just hanging out just to pad the bill. Me being a single parent with 2 kids, was also pushing and pulling furniture because they wanted me to help. There goes the first reason why I wanted to hire a third party during Covid times. Still I did it as I wanted this to be over soon. After billing me for 5 hours, they told me to give the money and that they will bring the rest of the stuff inside the house. Took my money and went off without completing the job, and not even a phone call. When I went downstairs to see what was taking so long I saw that my dining chairs were loaded to the elevator. I had to bring them up on my own. Worst was they had left my bed on the lobby (they were supposed to dismantle it as my new apartment elevator was smaller) Not only they didnt dismantle it as they were supposed to, they just left it right in the middle of the lobby. Further they dont use sheet covers or any protective gear, my sofas and mattresses which was light colored items were smeared with stains. They also broke one of my Ikea lampshades.

Also the friendly supportive tone they have prior to giving them the business totally changes once they have the business.

I will never recommend this company

The worst experience ever. Very very rude. They were so lazy I had to unload the truck my wife taking things apart while they just stand there. The owner Paul sat in the truck the whole time & then the ruined and dropped our $4,000 couch and then still had the nerve to ask for payment. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND ITS MOVERS. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE. THEY HAVE NO EXPERIENCE

The two guys who showed up were on time, helpful and did a great job. They helped the move be successful. I could not of done it without them. I had underestimated the time I would need. They being professionals did not.

Moving is a stressful time and they were professional and happy. Worked very quickly.

I highly recommend ABS Movers. If I ever have to move again I will definitely use them.

We highly recommend ABS movers. They did an incredible job moving our furniture out of a very tight inner city home. They put a lot of care in their work and Moe and Reuben were an incredible team to work with. They were very careful moving our antique furniture; all pieces carefully wrapped and unwrapped. Paul, the owner gave us a very fair competitive quote and the value was amazing, compared to other quotes we received. We will always use Paul and his team at ABS. It's obvious that the ABS team love what they do, in how they interact with their clients. No additional charges were added on.it was a pleasure to tip our movers for the care you put into the move. Highly recommended!

They were so pleasant, happy. I hired 3 movers & they could see I was emotional & stressed & they all kept talking to me to make me feel better. They were singing or humming all happy men.
They truly Truly helped my anxiety lessen.
Moving is a stressful time & they were so professional & happy.

Worked very quickly. Nothing broken or chipped etc.
This was my 3rd time using them in the past 11 years.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ABS MOVERS! ’

I want to be fair in this review. There were pros and cons.

Pros:

-The move was reasonably fast and efficient.
-The crew was on time.
-The youngest fellow, I believe his name was Mohammed (can't remember for certain), was a very hard worker and very polite and kind.

Cons:

-The crew took absolutely NO Covid precautions in interior or exterior spaces. No masks, gloves, or any PPE. At one point, a member of the crew, without mask, walked into a walk-in closet with me, just chatting, without mask. This was incredibly concerning. One member of the crew was coughing and spitting outside my home. This needs to be addressed immediately. They do multiple moves in a day, with frequent contact. Lack of PPE or basic precautions is not acceptable now, and businesses should know better.
-Upon completing the move, the pressure to tip was intense. I was told the amount expected, $40 per person. When I said that I would pay it by credit card, I was asked why I couldn't go to a bank machinet give them cash I refused to do that.
-to pay by credit card, they use an antiquated carbon-machine. When the time came to pay, not one of the three individuals on the crew knew how to use it. I ended up figuring it out myself and doing the work and showing them how.
-while waiting in the storage area, member of the crew were extremely inappropriate, in terms of language and content. I won't repeat what was said, and I don't care personally, but for someone else it could have been extremely uncomfortable.

When it comes to the actual guys who move you I have to give them a 10/10. Mohammed, Moe, Jim and Basil were amazing. They picked up items my husband and I could hardly move with ease. I highly recommend these 4 guys to move you BUT. When it comes to actually getting a quote I do not recommend them at all. I was quoted 8-10 hours at $150/hr and $150 for the truck. I was also told that I would have a 40 foot truck and everything would fit in the truck. Well guess what PAUL underquoted me by 6 hours and $1272 later. Paul needs to take one of the 4 guys mentioned above with him from now on when he quotes a job. Paul came to my house and he seen everything we had. I say this because when the guys came on the Friday they knew right from the start that my stuff would not fit in the truck. They actually laughed when I said Paul said it would fit. The first day was 9.5 hours and we had to go back on the Sunday for another 6.5 hours. I was told on Saturday night from Paul himself that he would only charge me $100/hr and $100 for the truck. I drive all the way from Oshawa to Brampton after I paid $50 for gas to the driver who took us so now I don't have a choice and the paperwork said $150/hr. I spoke with Paul and he argues with me saying he didn't say that. I know what he told me and he sure did NOT tell $100/hr for 2 guys and $150/hr for 3 guys. He told me $100 straight out. I will never use these guys again ever. I was taken for alot of money and you do not argue with a customer which Paul did. Paul needs to learn how to quote a job better and he needs to be more clear. I am a stepmom of 2 disabled children and the money they took on Sunday came from my mom who is on a fixed income. My mom was in tears when she was told the total. I'm not upset with the 4 movers at all but I am very furious with Paul. He took me. Never again will he ever have my business. He's a crook and he doesn't care. I will be calling the BBB (Better Business Bureau) Not naming any names but when one of his own guys tells me to put a bad review against him because they feel like I was taken that says it all. CROOK AND THIEF I was going to go with a very reputable company and I thought $2000 was high but guess what it was cheaper then the $3172 I was taken for from ABS Movers. Atlas Van Lines would have been my better move. NEVER USE ABS MOVERS I WARN YOU NOW. PAUL WILL UNDER QUOTE YOU AND YOU WILL END UP SPENDING WAY MORE MONEY. Please get your quote in writing that will save you in the end.

You will end up paying for
1. Extra hour for lunch break which is not part of the contract
2.2 out of 3 movers work
3. It can take 10 hours when it should only take 4 hours
4. Your stuff can go missing and you won’t get it back
5. You can be promised a refund amount and the cheque will be in mail but you won’t receive it.

I ended up paying $1300 for moving stuff from a two bedroom condo to a townhome.

The only reason I gave them a 1 star was because there wasn’t a 0. The move started off without any wardrobe boxes to pack our clothes. Although the move out went well there wasn’t enough room on the truck so we had to rely on our neighbors to store our belongings until they were able to make room. Now it gets fun. Upon delivery, they determined that a snow bank was the best place to throw out clothes which as you read earlier were not in the requested wardrobe boxes. Most items had damage upon delivery and of ALL the items they moved, my very expensive watch has since been missing. Considering it was taped securely in my night stand and EVERYTHING else in that nightstand made it, seems quite coincidental. When we FINALLY finished at 3 am, we discovered that we were required to pay for EVERYTHING. And I mean everything. The tape used to wrap which they ran out of and used all of mine, the use of the blankets, the extra hours due to them being slow as hell. I’m surprised they didn’t charge for the ink used to write up the bill.
Upon letting the owner know about any damage and my missing watch, his only aupport for his customer was to say call the police. Nice business practice I must say.
To sum it up, we continue to not be able to find items that were probably left behind.
Do yourself and tour pocket book a favour and STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE A FRAUD.

Charged me 700 for a 3 hour move that turned into 4 hours because apparently the workers had been up working all day and complaining about being at the end of their rope. I was spoken to like a child. And my belongings were thrown about with very little care. In the end they threw all my things on the driveway and on top of it in n9 particular order jus THROWN literally i had to caution them about the value of my belongings and to handle with more care. They draged things along floors. And wanted to take off 30 mins early after charging me an extra hour and there was still work to be done. Terrible experience. And 700 for a 4 hour move? In what world? Yall should be ashamed. That old man driving the truck needs training on how to deal with customers and maybe you guys should consider hiring professionals or employing them or incorporate professional standards that are followed by all employees. I should be refunded or rebated. I would not recommend this company to anyone unless noone else was available.

I contacted this company on short notice (12 hours prior) and spoke to Paul. Everything went as he said it would. Basil and his colleague were 15 minutes ahead of schedule. They took the time to go over what I needed done before starting the job. It was completed without any issues, on time and no damages. Both guys were efficient and pleasant. Should I need movers in the future, I will definitely use this company again. Thanks for doing such a good job!:)

Basil and his crew worked efficiently to move our house. They were friendly and courteous and worked very, very hard. It was affordable and made the day go by without a hitch. I would recommend this company 100%!

I live in one bedroom Appt moved with this company, please do your self a favor and do not use them. 2 older men came in to move very slow. Took me 20min to get to the new house and took them 1.45 hrs as they got lost! They broke 2 items and never took responsibility. Didn't take Thier boots off and the carpet is full of mud and they left way too many marks on the stairs. Worst moving company ever not recommended at all

ABS Movers were great! Paul got back to me within a reasonable time and provided a quote that was accurate. The two men who moved me, Scott and Rob, were on time, and extremely professional. It only took 1-1/2 hours to move from my apartment. I was extremely happy and would recommend them for your next move.

We booked our service through Paul, two men were sent one of them is Scott who came with a 20ft Truck, our job was simple everything was disassembled already, service elevators booked. The guys were super slow, unprofessional. Broke my stuff, scratched my furniture, over charged us. In the end when we called Paul and complained that's when Scott started swearing at us, started calling us a liar. Scott followed me back to my apartment started threatening me, I had to shout at him and tell him to stay off my property because he was just abusing while I was talking with Paul so he could compensate for the damage. But it got to a point where I just wanted them out of my apartment so I just paid whatever they asked for. This has been an absolutely worst experience of my life.

All BS Movers — When Your Drunk Uncles Are Too Busy
Because really, your drunk uncles would do a much better job for a lot less money.
- Time and Cost to move 1 person in a 1.5 bedroom 1.5 km: 6 hours and $1525 in costs, fees and tips.
_
1) ‘No Hidden Fees’ – How about:
(i) a 2% VISA surcharge [they’ll try to tell you that HST is still at 15%]
(ii) a $50 packing fee, because they’ve dropped boxes and needed to repack them, and
(iii) a mandatory $40 tip for each mover [that they tell you about when you get the bill].
o Just these 3 hidden fees added $400 to my moving bill.

2) The Movers –
(i) More is Not Better. The owner will hard sell you on getting more movers. You think twice the movers means things will go twice as fast. Wrong. The 1 guy spent the entire time re-arranging things in the truck that was only half full. Another guy was a chain smoker.
(ii) Grubby. Their dolly is freshly oiled. You’ll know because you’ll see a trail of oil to and from your front door into your apartment. And oily hand prints all over your furniture.
(iii) Careless. You’ve marked your boxes with fluorescent ‘fragile’ stickers on all sides. You’ve labelled what room each box should go into. Then they all just get dropped in a pile in the first spot available.
(iv) Whiny. From the moment they start, the movers begin making the case for their $40 tip. It’s hot out. Your boxes are heavy. The stairs are steep. This goes on for the entire move.
(v) Psychic. 30 minutes into the move, the movers already knew how long the move was going to take. Without even seeing the place you’re moving into. And they dragged their feet to make sure they hit their target.

I was very worried about using a moving company as I have valuable items and fish tanks. They showed up on time worked extremely fast made my move day a breeze. I've moved myself many times in the past and let be honest who likes to move, I usually dreaded the day when it came. Going forward without a second question I'll be hiring them again, I also will be personally asking for Mo and Basil. They were just top notch and I'd trust them if I wasn't around to watch. Thanks again guys for making it easy as can be

Unfortunately we were extremely unsatisfied with the service. The truck size they provided us was too small and it wouldn’t even fit all of our stuff. We hired three movers, and one of them basically just stood around all day and didn’t help out. Furniture and walls were damaged. The head guy Paul is extremely rude and mean - to his customers and his employees. Also - he tried to charge us an extra hour and a 16% ”tax”! It was absurd. I used this company three years ago and had a generally positive experience - however, I was so disappointed today. I would really encourage people not to hire this company. I can’t say enough about how terrible our experience was today - every moment of it was a disappointment - and instead of making our move easier, it was actually a lot more stressful every step of the way.

**UPDATE: After posting my review, the company tried to convince me to accept a refund of 50% for me to remove my review. Unfortunately, 50% off would not cover the damage done to the house or our furniture so I did not accept the refund. I also thought that would be inappropriate to accept and I imagine the reason there are no other 1 or 2 star reviews is because the company has paid off people to remove their low reviews. Also, just an FYI that the company’s response to my review is just inaccurate. **

I chose ABS due to the reviews and I was very happy that I did choose them for our recent move. The movers were extremely focused, quick, pleasant, and they did not take a break in the five hours that they worked. I would definitely use this company again, and would definitely refer them. Thank you, Junior and E and for all your hard work this past Saturday.
